Too Funny For Words || Open Thread

Since yesterday, I’ve been dreading the prospect of having to watch CNN’s “Political Forum” on “Compassion and Leadership” with Rev. Rick Warren and candidates McCain and Obama (sans debate). Yawners. Thanks to Darragh’s show beginning an hour into the forum, I have the perfect excuse to duck out.

Now look at this New York Times story title. I roared out loud:

Allies Ask Obama to Make ‘Hope’ More Specific

It just occurred to these people to ask him now?

What ELSE is going on in the world? Let me know!

Hey this is off topic , but important

MIAMI - Florida’s governor has declared a state of emergency for the state due to the threat of Tropical Storm Fay.

Gov. Charlie Crist says in the order that the storm threatens the state with a “major disaster.”

Forecasters warned that Fay could bring hurricane-force winds to the Florida Keys as soon as Monday.

Forecasters said Saturday that the storm could hit as a Category 1 or 2 hurricane, with winds perhaps reaching more than 100 mph. But forecasters stressed it was too early to tell how intense the storm would become. Floridians Please Make Preparations To Safeguard Yourselves.

Define Hope? That’s the gut buster for the day! BWAAA BWAAAHAAAA!!

It’s feeling (oh, God, let’s hope so) that it’s a little too late for Obama. Each time he opens his mouth, each time an Obot swears or threatens, and each time some more questions are asked about WHO Obama really is, a new republican voter is born.

Who could have ever imagined there were ZERO cool heads in the DNC and that they all listened to Donna Brazile.

Comment by roseeriter | 2008-08-16 15:58:11

Hope Obama Loses! That works for me.

I no longer hope that bobo will hopefully define hope. I hope he’s soundly defeated. My family feels hopeless looking at barry soetoro’s tax plan. It’s not hopeful to stage a convention, hijack a party and undo democratic procedures. Not hopeful to play the race card so often. But it sure is change I didn’t count on.

Comment by candymarl | 2008-08-16 15:42:00

They want specifics now? But I thought all that was needed was Hope and Change.

I suspect during Obama’s trip to Hawaii he was filled with policy positions. Kinda like a cream puff is filled. Of course probably none of these ideas will be Obama’s own.

They’ll be an amalgam of things Hillary and McCain have already proposed.

But the NY Times and Washington Post won’t have a problem with that.

It’s pretty clear which candidate the MSM/Corporate owned media prefers.

Hint: It’s neither Hillary nor McCain.

Poll totals thus far! I’ve posted the poll over at Sugar’s and The Confluence in hopes of reaching more PUMA!

If anyone knows of other places feel free to share. The more PUMA voices the better! I’m checking IP’s with stat totals to make sure no one is cheating. There will always be one or two but I manage to keep it pretty honest! Otherwise what’s the point? I hate wasting my time! Ok here it is.

Are you a Puma? or WHAT?

Obama’s three biggest HOPE’s:

1- all the SD’s he’s paid off and threatened keep in line

2- Bill Ayers can keep control over his bombing wife Bernadine Dohrn until after the elections

3- Rev Wright does not expose that he fathered Obama’s kids

What ELSE is going on in the world? Let me know!

Mark Warner, who’s running for an open Senate seat in Virginia and has been chosen as the keynote speaker at the Democratic National Convention in Denver, received more than $206,000 from lobbyists so far this year, a Real Time Investigations report reveals. An exhaustive data analysis of the recently released disclosures show that federally registered lobbyists have given candidates more than $10 million since the beginning of 2008.

Read more http://blog.thehill.com/2008/08/16/dnc-keynote-speaker-receives-the-most-in-donations-from-lobbyists/

So, thats why the DNC chose Warner as the keynote speaker.

What’s new in the world? Nothing in Obama’s world–he’s on vacation.

I am requesting help from any PUMAs that might have a flyer with information regarding the “One”.

Earlier today, my son had a football scrimmage. The age groups of the boys and teams is between 7 to 13 years old. It was fantastic to see all the boys finally get to put on their uniforms and showcase the plays they’ve learned in practice in the past 4 weeks.

Most of the adults attending this morning were there to watch the kids and enjoy the beautiful weather.

Not so today.

Obama’s campaign volunteers were out in full force this morning handing out campaign flyers and DVDs.

It disturbs me to watch this crap at events for kids. Leave the kids and parents alone.

What really got me riled was a comment from them (Obama volunteers) telling a group of older black women how “white America” was trying to rise up against Obama with the help of Hillary’s “bitter supporters”.

That’s right—you’re all bitter. No news there as most PUMAs already know this speil, but the point is they’re going to be back on Monday handing out stuff.

I’ve decided to counter their “information” with my own. My area is predominantly black and most are Democrats.

Thanks to Paul Villarreal—I have one avenue to counter them, but I need a flyer that lays out the truth about “hope and change” that Obama is promising. Or something that can counter the lies of Obama already pre-made.

If anyone has a link to a flyer that I can print and hand out, I would greatly appreciate it. Enough is enough.

Also, if I need to ask permission…please just let me know and I’ll follow the link and ask.

Thanks PUMAS!

There’s plenty out there, but off the top of my head I can’t think of something like a flyer, all in one place. You might get a couple of Eric Rush’s articles copied and passed around. Erik Rush is a black author: Here’s one (and he has more):

http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=72265

And here’s a chart showing Obama’s questionable associates:

http://barackobamaassociates.info/index.htm

And read through the comments on different articles and you will probably find more. Also, check on the home page and go to some of the other sites where you may find more that you need. Good luck.

Comment by CountryFirst | 2008-08-17 00:56:11

You may have to search and make your own flyer. Any how, here’s a fact for you, original author unknown:

Subject: Just 143 Days of Experience…

Just how much Senate experience does Barack Obama have in terms of actual work days? Not much.

From the time Barack Obama was sworn in as a United State Senator, to the time he announced he was forming a Presidential exploratory committee, he logged 143 days of experience in the Senate. That’s how many days the Senate was actually in session and working.

After 143 days of work experience, Obama believed he was ready to be Commander In Chief, Leader of the Free World, and fill the shoes of
Abraham Lincoln, FDR, JFK and Ronald Reagan.

143 days — I keep leftovers in my refrigerator longer than that.

In contrast, John McCain’s 26 years in Congress, 22 years of military service including 1,966 days in captivity as a POW in Hanoi, now seem more impressive than ever.
Would any one of you go along “for the ride” if an airline captain had 143 days of ground school, a ship commander with 143 days of school, a doctor with 143 days of med school, and attorney with 143 days of law school, a dentist with 143 days of dental school???? Where in the hell is this country going…nuts?

Senator Obama has a three word answer to these questions—it’s always READ-MY-WEBSITE instead of actually answering the questions.

Comment by Sassy | 2008-08-16 16:30:17

How exactly are the “allies” going to know when the “O” espouses a REAL position?
He will change it before it makes the media rounds!

Comment by steel magnolia | 2008-08-16 16:40:05

It was reported in the LATimes (Obama’s CA suckup paper) that he has been “studying” Hillary’s debate tapes to get ready for the debate at Saddleback church this week-end. Once again, he has to look to Hillary for what to do and how to handle himself. This speaks volumes. The best candidate is the follower, not the leader.

Comment by steel magnolia | 2008-08-16 16:42:37

Should have said the “DNC’s” best candidate is the follwer, not the leader.

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-08-16 17:01:39

They might add the word “change” in their request for expanded definitions. It’s just as loosey-goosey as the word “hope” but with scarier implications in my mind.

Amazing!

Any one seen the state polls on real clear politics lately? WHy is Barack Obama doing so horribly in state polls. This guy is outraising the Mccain 3 to 1 and his poll numbers are dropping. HCeck states such as CO, VA, MN, WI, OH, PA where Obama had a lead. Obama may very well lose the state of Massachusettes if he keeps talking so grandly. I guess Deval Patrick message of change isn’t doing so well for MA voters. And Obama chose that same theme.

Voters’ remorse anyone?

Comment by arabiandancer | 2008-08-16 17:23:45

DID ANYONE ELSE HEAR THAT COWARD DEAN SAID THE GOP IS THE “WHITE” PARTY ” ? I GUESS DEAN IS DOING OBAMAS RACE-BAITING NOW, SINCE MCCAIN BUSTED HIM GOOD THE OTHER DAY. JUST LIKE OLIAR TO GET OTHER PEOPLE TO PLAY THAT DIRTY RACE CARD TO STIR UP HATE IN THE COUNTRY. DISGUSTING, WHY DONT THE TROLLS SEE WHAT IS HAPPENING ?

More specific. Well, how about “Obama hopes that Americans will forget they saw his pastor of 20 years saying ‘G-Damn America’ right after 9/11.”
