Howard Dean, The Race Card and The “White Party”

All of this kind of reminds me of a time awhile ago, when that Neo Conservative Fascist Dick Armey referred to Barney Frank as “Barney Fag” during a press conference. He lost his mojo after that one. You never saw a “leader” disappear from public view so fast in your life after that. Armey didn’t “mean” to call Barney a fag. He even tried to say is “sounded” like “fag” but wasn’t “really” fag. But the truth is, a video is a video and Dick called Barney Barney Fag. I heard it and saw it live. But I will agree that he didn’t do it on purpose. It was a slip of the tongue. It’s just that Dick was so accustomed to calling Barney that in front of all his compadres over cigars, scotch and guffaws that he forgot where he was.

The same goes for the Neo Liberal Fascist Howard Dean when he referred to the Republican Party as the “White Party” earlier this week.

Apparently, Howard is an honorary black person now, but the truth is, somebody needs to tell Howard that he’s white too. In fact, he’s not only white, but he looks a little pale these days–but we’ll save that for another time.

The thing is, I’m sure The Dirt Ball Who Has Mastered Divisiveness Howard knows he’s white. He also knows he’s not a woman, else he might have done something more than snicker throughout the primaries and pretend he didn’t notice what his Sexist party did to Women in General and Hillary in Particular. His disdain for the “other” gender even shows through in the video below, when he adds women in as an afterthought, as in “Even Women ….are more successful in the Democratic Party”. Coulda fooled me! Screw you Howard. I really think you are an embarrassing buffoon and I hope you don’t go back to practicing medicine on innocent women when we throw you out of the party and restore some dignity and sense of propriety to the party you have bulldozed. “Even women” vote Howard. And believe me, we aren’t staying home on November 4 like Donna suggested. Just so you know.

Like Dick Armey, Barack Obama’s hood ornament Howard Dean didn’t mean to call the Republican Party the White Party. It’s just that Howard Dean and his band of nomination Fixers have been so accustomed to constantly pulling the Race Card for the past year or so, that he forgot where he was.

Here’s Howard having a lapse and thinking he’s over at a DNC Meeting planning the timing of their next Race Card. And here’s Lou Dobbs ripping him a new one by appropriately describing Dean as “Out of touch with issues of gender, race, politics and propriety“. Dobbs made a pretty good argument that Snide Howard doesn’t deserve the benefit of the doubt I just just gave him.

The allegedly intelligent Howard Dean has almost succeeded in destroying the Democratic Party.

Comment by harvey | 2008-08-17 15:11:13

HEY Bud, do you mind if I expand that thought a tiny bit? :). Howard Dean has destroyed the democratic party (as we once knew the party).

Comment by Bud White | 2008-08-17 15:13:40

Sadly, I think you’re right.

Comment by Andy | 2008-08-17 16:45:41

I second harvey’s comment above: Howard Dean & Nancy Pelosi have destroyed it indeed.

It is amazing how being a centrist is such a bad word these days for the DNC; they seem to belive we are just divided into “Left America” and “Right America” (right as in politically from the right of course).

correct; it has become the party of anti-american, anti-white, pro-islam (anti-christianity) teenage leftist thugs. i’m an atheist, so i think i can objectively say that their love of all things muslim has completely gone off the scale, meanwhile they will mercilessly rip christianity every which way. and the blatant and defamatory use of the racist card is finally becomingt known to all and coming back to kick them in the ass.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-17 18:26:03

They have definately positioned themselves as the party of hate. And if they don’t care about me why should I give a dog’s biscuit about them?

Comment by rw | 2008-08-17 18:31:25

An atheist myself, but not bothered by anyone’s religion, and liberal leftist big on government & tolerance. Have began to be repelled by tolerance of the left for anything anti-American, tolerance for violence, hatred in the name of “culture”, tolerance for bigotry against anything eurocentric. The American left needs new paradigms, new leadership otherwise it will be finished.

Well said, rw, and I totally agree.

Comment by NoBamaNoWay | 2008-08-18 03:16:11

yep; that’s why this is such a critical juncture for the democratic party. i see us potentially heading in a very bad direction. if Obamaism is allowed to define the democratic party for the next couple decades we will all be screwed; left, right, and center. the clinton era will seem like a sweet dream. no way do i want to see america move towards an identity of perpetual victimhood, perpetual obsession with the “enemy oppressor,” america-hating, rejection of personal responsibility, etc.

Comment by SD | 2008-09-20 16:21:35

They’re playing the fundy Xtian card, too, though–Obama is sure trying to, anyway.

Kirbyjon Caldwell, anyone? Obama supporter, GW BUSH pastor and spiritual advisor, closeted gay guy, excoriator of gays at the same time, and the fellow who married Jenna and Rove’s assistant? He’s onboard the Obama train.

Donnie McClurkin? Headliner at the South Carolina “Let’s Call the Clintons Racists” Obamapalooza? Singing, pontificating, screaming Queen-of-Denial gay guy, who tells everyone that gayness can be “prayed away,” a real good buddy and supporter of Obama?

He’s put some faithish/pandering-to-women crap in the D platform, too…trying to be all things to all people, and failing miserably.

It is simple,
The democratic party no longer is for the middle and lower class of WHITE AMERICA…
THIS IS A NEW PARTY THAT IS FOR PEOPLE OF COLOR AND RADICAL TERROR LOVING LIBERALS…
I WANT A PUMA PARTY COUNTRY FIRST PARTY LAST AND THAT IS WHAT JOHN MCCAIN REPRESENTS. IF YOU GIVE YOUR WHITE VOTE TO A BLACK MAN THAT IS FOR BLACK THEOLOGY WHICH INCLUDES THE REDISTRIBUTION THROUGH TAXES TO POOR WELFARE BLACK FAMILIES THEN YOU HAVE YOUR MAN. ME I WANT ANY CANIDATE BLACK OR WHITE WHO IS FOR PROTECTING AMERICA AND CREATING WEALTH THROUGH OPPORTUNITIES TO CREATE BUSINESSES WHICH WILL CREATE A NEED FOR EMPLOYEES WHICH WILL GROW OUR ECONOMY AND CREATE A GOOD LIFE FOR ANYONE SEEKING THE AMERICAN DREAM THROUGH YOUR OWN BLOOD, SWEAT AND TEARS.. NOT THROUGH FAITH BASED WELFARE PROGRAMS TO INNER CITY CHRUCHES WHO ONLY REPRESENT BLACK THEOLOGY MINDSETS JUST LIKE REV WRIGHT… BY THE WAY HE IS GOING ON TOUR FOR A BOOK SIGNING IN OCT…. MAYBE OBAMA WON’T BE ABLE TO KEEP HIM QUITE. I WILLVOTE FOR MCCAIN AND THE WHITE PARTY AND BE CONSIDERED A RACISTS IT DOESN’T INTIMEDATE ME. I AM SECURE ENOUGH IN MY JUDGEMENT TO KNOW THAT OBAMA WOULD AND COULD SEND OUR COUNTRY INTO ANOTHER GREAT DEPRESSION… NO THANK YOU A SLOW ECONOMY OR RECESSSION IS HARD ENOUGH….
IF THEY CAN’T ELECT CLINTON FOR PRESIDENT THEN MCCAIN GETS MY VOTE!

Comment by tek | 2008-08-17 18:11:39

You said it! What is all this reparation stuff, anyway? It’s just nuts. No white person living today kept any black person in slavery. Lots of white people marched to give blacks rights, and then LBJ gave them equal opportunity and affirmative action, scholarships, job training, etc. They have more opportunity than anyone in the country. But once these people saw that they could get money from the government (the rest of us) that was the end of equality.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-17 18:30:20

“Lots of white people marched to give blacks rights, and then LBJ gave them equal opportunity and affirmative action, scholarships, job training, etc.”

Put the label of “reparations” on that entire package and put the racial handouts to bed. I have been discriminated against my entire life, so where are my reparations?

Comment by elise | 2008-08-17 21:45:17

tek, no one deserves to be called racist based on their choice for president. There is something happening now I don’t understand, but know is odious and hateful. It is a trap lying in wait for all of us. I will not believe the majority of African Americas believe they deserve a handout for a wrong done to their ancestors. Inner city schools are poor, ill equipped and populated by many students who lack supervision in their free time and teachers just trying to keep the peace. Single parents often working two jobs and living from hand to mouth with no time or energy to help their children with homework or prepare them for college or the future. Obama is despicable to promise people a world of hope and change without offering a plan to help. I believe older AAs know this is true, but can’t resist the promise of an easy solution. Eventually, they will realize they have been lied to and this will be laid at Obama’s doorstep. In the meantime, we can’t afford to lose our way. If the answer is a viable third party, I’m ready. As long as it is inclusive and has an honest commitment to the principles to the civil rights of all. The Democratic Party will pay for using race baiting as weapon just as the Republican Party will pay for creating and using wedge issues based on religious beliefs.

You want a Clinton administration. Bill Clinton was a growth President who brought oppotunity and growth to all Americans, black, white, whatever. The rich and the middle class and the poor all did better. We may need a new party to accomplish that again. Or, at least, a re-built Dem party.

Comment by OBSP | 2008-08-17 14:50:31

In 2006, Dean planned to detroy the Clinton’s. He planned anyone but Hillary and look what we have. So now since he has announced the Republican are the party of white’s then the Dems are the party of the other. And the majority does not change until 2042 when minorities will out number whites. If I were a 527 supporting McCain, I would play that statement again and again. His ego is only second to BO.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-08-17 17:16:46

:-) Sounds like Dr. Dean has given a lot of white people the incentive to have large families. That might be a good way for the middle class to get some tax incentives! Yippeeeeee!

Howard Dean has opened his mouth again. He has called the Republican Party the party of white people. He should try to explain away Martin Luther King’s status as a registered Republican . He should explain away how the party of Lincoln produced judges in the American South who eviscerated Jim Crow with judicial rulings. It was Republican judges who supported desegregation from the bench. It was in Republican administrations that Condoleeza Rice served as Secretary of State . Who was the first African American to serve in that position once held by a white guy on the ten dollar bill? It was Colin Powell appointed by a Republican President. Prior to that he was the first African American chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, also appointed by a Republican president.

Comment by elise | 2008-08-17 22:11:48

You are only partially right, simanov. When LBJ pushed for and signed the Civil Rights Act, he was told by other members of the Democratic Party he had just signed away the majority support in the South. Since that time, the southern states have voted Republican while the AA vote has gone to Democrats. Nixon further used race as a means to Republican victories in the South, but in a negative way. Both parties are equally guilty of using race to gain majorities just as they have used women’s issues to persuade voters. Obama has done the same thing. I just believe some members among the Dems know this is true on some level and think the way to fix everything is by voting for a bi-racial candidate without considering the character or qualifications. They can’t recognize they are now the new group being used to accomplish the goals of people who really don’t give a damn about anything other than power.

I’ve never liked Dean so I can’t even give an unbiased comment about him. Let’s just look at his rise to power in the Democrat Party and what’s happened since. Look at the 2006 election and what was done with Lieberman and Steele. Then look at this election and what has been done. I rest my case. He should have been stopped long ago. He has ZERO problem using racism or misogyny in elections and somehow it’s OK for him to do so even though he is Caucasian simply because he’s a Democrat. I don’t think so.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-08-17 22:33:38

I actually DID like Dean. That’s why what he’s done is so very disappointing.

I thought he was treated unfairly after the scream business, and I thought his ideas were good, though his punky “kids in orange hats” campaign organization sucked. I preferred him over my own Senator, who I supported in tangible fashion AFTER Dean imploded, though I was lukewarm about him, frankly.

That’s why Dean being such an ignorant shitbird is so…baffling to me. It’s like an alien asshole has taken over his rock-rib, common sense, New England persona.

I was never overly fond of the two party system but this is ridiculous!

Comment by harvey | 2008-08-17 15:27:19

Don’t forget the DSA (Democratic Socialists of America) an affiliate of the International Socialists. I think Howard Dean is trying to seat the first socialist party ever in the White House.

Comment by Obama is a bum | 2008-08-17 18:39:13

And it all started with Obama saying we don’t have red states or blue states just the united states. What a joke that turned out to be, Obama is the most divisive candidate I’ve ever seen. They are playing the race card so frequently they do not need any other cards in the deck other than the jokers they are.

Comment by scorbs | 2008-08-17 15:13:22

The DNC has been playing a particulary cynical, almost evil form of politics. They pressed an inexperienced candidate so that he couldn’t be vetted in time for the election (in their minds only), and they knew, if there was any criticism of the AA candidate, they could claim racism. If the country got torn up in the meantime, and afterwards, they didn’t care; the whole point was the empty one: to win. At any cost.

The problem is that Howard has now fathered a monster.

Howard Dean is truly a mental case and should be immediately banished from the Democratic Party, but that will never happen. He, Nancy Pelosi and Dumbo Ears Obama are inebriated with themselves and fully intend to drive the car over the political cliff. And you know what? They will be the first ones WHINING when they wake up with a massive, collective hangover.

Nancy, Obambi and Howard: I HOPE IT HURTS!

Comment by Faustina | 2008-08-17 15:48:05

Back in 2004, I didn’t pay much attention to politics, but I did develop an immediate and intense aversion to Howard Dean. He struck me as one of those self-righteous people who rarely stoops or stops to listen to anyone else’s opinion.

Right now I think he has crossed the line & would agree that he is a mental case.

Not knowing much about him, I checked Wikipedia & found some information that may explain some of his past and current irrational behavior:

Grew up in East Hampton NY; wealthy Republican family; attended prep schools and graduated from Yale University; 4 brothers, no sisters; specifically requested an African-American roommate at Yale; raised Episcopalian, but switched to United Church of Christ (is this the same denomination Obama belongs to?).

Seems to fit the stereotype to me of the guilty, spoiled white brat who will make a point of doing exactly the opposite of what his parents would do and to blazes with anyone who doesn’t agree with him.

What a winner you have Democrats!

WAKE UP SUPERDELGATES!!!

As long as blacks insist on subscribing to victim status (BLT) they will always be used by people like Obama, Dean, Wright, Phleger, Sharpton, Farrakhan, Jackson, and others who make a living off of victimization. Their self-interest is to keep enough victims poor so they can get rich off of them.

I thought they sent him on a tour of back yards and alleys to keep him out of the spotlight?

The Republicans must be doing happy dances all over the country. Howard Dean cannot keep his foot out of his mouth. Obama has a hard time with a question because it is “over his pay grade”. And all the pundidiots are betting that good old foot-in-the-mouth Joe Biden will be Obama’s VP choice.

As I’ve said before, I’m not the swiftest boat in the fleet when it comes to politics, but even I thought to myself years ago when Dean was made Chairman of the DP, “WTF are they thinking!! This guy is nuts.”

Not only is he nuts, he is corrupt, devoid of any sense of what is right. His actions in this election process show him to be an evil buffoon. I hope he burns in hell.

Neverobama, and never a party to which Dean can claim his own.

Hello Folks,

FYI, these types of comments are nothing new for Dean. In June 2005 he said the same thing, more directly.

A short excerpt is below, then the link.

Democratic National Committee chairman Howard Dean, unapologetic in the face of recent criticism that he has been too tough on his political opposition, said in San Francisco this week that Republicans are “a pretty monolithic party. They all behave the same. They all look the same. It’s pretty much a white Christian party.”

Yes we know, that is in the Dobbs video above.

The photo is great, it exposes his facial expression.

geoff — So Dean has said this before–and nobody called him on it. Sounds like the only racist comments are coming from the liberals. 44 years a Dem and I never knew what Fascists they were.

Howard dean is just a typical, natural born idiot!

I wish I could say I was getting a charge in watching the Democratic Party commit suicide, but I cannot. But I am starting to cringe when I hear some of these party leaders and other talking heads go off with stupid, totally off-the-wall remarks. The so-called liberals are beginning to sound positively idiotic. From Dean’s remark to Pelosi “saving the planet.” Oh thank you, Superwoman.

Geraldine Ferraro said she thought Dean was “trying” to be funny, but she couldn’t come up with a good reason for the remark. The comment wasn’t close to funny, merely stupid and snide.

Have they lost their minds? Or haven’t I been listening carefully enough in the past?

What a sorry crew!

peggy like with Obama–when you don’t believe what your saying you screw up. I’m sorry for the decent down ticket Democrats but if they don’t stand up to these lunatics at the top — they deserve what they get.

The Democratic Party is no longer the Party of the Big Tent now that “whites” have been banished from its purview.

truthteller I knew there was a reason I left the party a couple of months ago.

“I wish I could say I was getting a charge in watching the Democratic Party commit suicide, but I cannot.”

The party is self-destructing, with Dean at the helm of the Titanic.
