“Constitutional Mandates”

I have written a few times about my Representative, Jim Clyburn. You know, the one who stabbed the Clintons in the back repeatedly? The one who encouraged the race-baiting around Bill Clinton saying that for Obama to claim that he has done anything different on Iraq from Senator Clinton was a “fairy tale”? Here’s a reminder for you:

(Geez, I miss the Big Dawg. What an eloquent, passionate, brilliant man he is!)

And then, there was Representative Clyburn who claimed to be “neutral” - you know, the same type of “neutral” that Donna Brazile was. Anyway, this is what Clyburn said about Bil Clinton:

Nice, huh? Never mind that President Clinton has worked TIRELESSLY for the African American community, and has stood with them for years. Nice payback, ESPECIALLY when Clinton did not DO what Clyburn accused him of doing. Yep, real nice, Jim.

Anywho - besides Clyburn clearly being in the tank for Obama, which he finally admitted in June, he is also known in the state of SC for his propensity toward earmarks. This is a subject on which I have written before (”Such Associates…“). Well, just hold onto your seats while you watch the following statement by Representative Clyburn at a forum in March of this year. It will blow you away!

See?? It’s a “Constitutional Mandate” for congresspeople to build pork into the budget for their family and friends! What’s the big to-do about, anyway?? Now, I hasten to add, I do not share the videographer’s political statements, and I am no fan of Senator DeMint, but he DID make a good point in this clip. And that point would be that Clyburn has a, um, well, let’s just say, UNIQUE understanding of the Constitution! Hey! Maybe THAT’S one of the reasons he supports Obama! They both seem to have a document with which I am not familiar to which they refer as “The Constitution!” Maybe they made their own. Ahem. So, yes - who the heck knew this was a “Constitutional MANDATE?”

I suppose that explains the following excerpts from article about Clyburn (highlights in bold are mine), Clyburn Quits Museum Board:
Hopes To Sidestep Conflict of Interest:

Clyburn, who tucked an $800,000 earmark for the museum into the federal budget approved late last year, said he decided to resign from the board after learning Friday that his nephew, Derrick Ballard, works for one of the two architectural firms recently hired to design the $70-$80 million museum.

This is by no means the first time issues have arisen regarding Clyburn’s propensity for earmarks:

In 2006, Clyburn was scrutinized by The (Myrtle Beach) Sun News for setting aside federal money for the Five Rivers community development organization, which hired the same nephew to design a building and reportedly paid the firm nearly $70,000 for initial work, though the building was never completed.

Five Rivers also employed Clyburn’s brother, Charles Clyburn.

Clyburn said the federal money he earmarked for Five Rivers was never appropriated, and he didn’t know of his relatives’ involvement with the organization, but he said that’s just the sort of appearance of impropriety he’s trying to avoid with the International African American Museum.

“There was no substance to it, but a lot of headlines,” he said.

Ballard works for Antoine Predock of Albuquerque, N.M., a nationally recognized architectural firm that teamed up with Moody Nolan of Columbus, Ohio, the nation’s largest black-owned architectural firm, to win the contract to design the International African American Museum. He could not be reached for comment Monday afternoon.

Rita Scott, vice chairwoman of the museum’s board, said board members were unaware the Predock firm employed a relative of Clyburn’s when the firm was selected.

Really? They had NO idea that the nephew of an incredibly POWERFUL Congerssional Representative from THIS DISTRICT worked for this particular architectural firm?? Well, of course not! The vice chairwoman continued:

“None of us knew,” Scott said. “It was a firm that we unanimously felt was the right firm.”

Evidently.

Not that the architectural firm is not a good one, it is:

Predock won the American Institute of Architects’ national gold medal in 2006, and Moody Nolan principal Curt Moody won the AIA Ohio gold medal in 2007.

The museum’s architect selection committee, which includes Charleston Mayor Joe Riley, unanimously picked the Moody/Predock team in February after interviewing three other finalists.

It is just a tad unbelievable that NO ONE KNEW, especially after the Five Rivers situation. It never occurred to ANYONE to consider that maybe, just maybe, the same nephew from the Five Rivers project, an ARCHITECT, might just have something to do with this other MAJOR project that received a huge earmark? Seriously?? I mean, I know we’re here in South Cackalacki with its really, really low academic rating (I’m kinda joking, but sadly too serious abt how far down SC is in terms of education in the country), but still - you would think SOMEONE would have thought to ask the question! Just sayin’ and all - you’d think the question would come up.

But, no. The question didn’t come up. And now we know that Rep. Clyburn, one of Obama’s big cheerleaders, and the HOUSE WHIP, no less, thinks it is his CONSTITUTIONAL MANDATE to push pork into the Federal Budget for his district. Wow. You know, come to think of it, maybe it should never have been a surprise that Clyburn would back Obama, and try to tear down both Bill and Hillary along the way. The more I learn about him and how he operates, he seems like the perfect Obama supporter, don’t you think?

Politics in this country has deteriorated to the point where I firmly belive that every one of them needs to be investigated by an independent prosecutor on a yearly basis just to prevent this from happening over and over again, and it does! I would be willing to pay MORE in taxes for this very purpose. It would save billions in the long run. How can we possibly take this country back from the corrupt politicians? It is just too pervasive!

Yes, that is what I now believe too.

Just think about Nancy, Obama is gods gift(to her and the other cheaters), Pelosi and Harry, fake fillibuster, Reid.

I am so done with democrats.

Comment by Liz B | 2008-08-18 19:41:24

The sad thing is that your comment rang too true. I have been a Democrat my entire life (I’m 48), and I came from FDR Democrats, sadly this is not the party of my parents. I don’t know when we became the party that most resembles the culture (or lack of) and threw away being what we used to be, which was a party that represented the average, working class American. The GOP was the party of the Rich and powerful and the Dems fought for the rest of us. That was a party I could believe in and support with my heart and soul. We had Bill and Hillary fighting for us for 8 sweet years and I was so looking forward to a normal President again. We were ignored and screwed over by GW and Hope was just around the bend (Hell, Obama even stole Hope from us), what happened that made us put Pelosi, Dean and Brazille in charge of our party? Even more disturbing…why isn’t it being inestigated more deeply about the money backers of the new DNC? Why would George Sorros have any interest in buying MoveOn.org and then financing the campaigns after private meetings in 2004 with Dean and Barack Obama in New York? Guess who has tried to tell us about that? Anybody from our party? Hell no! Lyndon LaRouche, that’s who! He was right all along and we did not listen because it seemed too ridiculous to believe. Sorros was one of the big money guys behind GW for 8 years, so why the sudden interest in placing a candidate in power in 08? Could it be that the big money folks from W’s campaigns really are for some crazy reason supporting Obama now? WHY? What is in it for them?
The truth may be too frightening to comprehend. So now, dazed and bewildered by it all, I for the first time ever in my life for a GOP candidate, surprisingly, it is not going to be that hard.

Maybe we should get Clyburn out of office too. ;)

Comment by Rabble Rouser Reverend Amy | 2008-08-18 14:10:44

Well, Clyburn IS up for re-election this year - I’d love to see someone in there who will REALLY work for the majority constituency, but since he’s the Majority Whip, I seriously doubt people will want to give up his power and influence. It’s a shame when that means more than actually doing the work of the people…

Comment by FranSC | 2008-08-19 00:16:15

I am really horrified that Rep. Clyburn has been asked by BO to be one of the speakers at the convention. However, BO owes him quite a bit for his success - the dispicable race-baiting in SC that Donna Brazile helped Clyburn with, keeping the AA voters in line and angry at the Clintons’- but blaming it on the Clintons’. I, too, am from SC and saw all of this take place - no hear/say.

I am wondering if Clyburn, not to mention Dean and Pelosi will be booed at the convention. Surely, some of those delegates are reading all of this dirt on them and won’t pretend to be this unified, loving party.

….nor should Obama be talking about Clarence Thomas’ lack of experience!!
Sheesh! that Saddleback forum made Obama look so elitist! - especially with his “paygrade” remark.
Obama is “above” answering questions directly.

Comment by FranSC | 2008-08-18 23:28:41

I disagree that BO looked either elitist Sat. night or that he appears above answering questions directly. I thought he looked as humble as he could muster - almost to the point of looking pathetic.

I found myself ‘almost’ feeling sorry for him even though I, myself, have chewed him up and spit him out everyday for almost a year. One ex. was when he talked about his Mom would not allow him to be mean to anyone and would tell him to imagine being in their shoes. Perhaps I was wrong, but it seemed to me he was a hurt little boy trying to be an example for those he perceives are being mean to him now.

The problem is he does not think fast enough on his feet like all who have reached this point, and he simply does not have a mastery of the issues or life in general like Hillary. By contrast, there is no way to stump Hillary or Bill. Without fail, they will blow you away spouting off impressive little gold nuggets of facts or philosophy regardless of what or how it is thrown at them. BO cannot do that! He stumbles and stutters over the simplist questions. My gosh, this is not a high school debating team - this is the NFL!

In the primary Hillary helped him dramatically by always being asked the questions first, giving O a heads up as to what to say…like…”I agree with Senator Clinton on that”.

The Obama Supporters I have encountered have (with only two exceptions) been rude, ignorant, angry, hateful, arrogant, and generally incapable of forming original thoughts - instead defaulting on the most recent talking points of the Obama campaign.
The Hillary supporters I have encountered (with only one exception) have been polite even when in complete disagreement, honest, forthright, and many times quite insightful.
And I have encountered many from both camps. It’s amazing how effective Obama has been at completely filtering the left into two distinct camps: the rational and the irrational.

I have the feeling it will be John Kerry. Not Barry’s choice, but one that “they” have stuck him with. Rational being this, Kerry has a rich wife, meaning infusion of money. George Soros wantd Kerry elected. Kerry has “military” background, Kerry has “experience” Kerry almost won a presidential election, Kerry has a “smear’ NOT website. Barry introduced Kerry in 2004, so Kerry and Dean have been pushing him since then, if not before. The night that the VP is introduced has something to do with National Security, or honoring our military. Kerry as well as Barry appear to hate America. They are both empty suits. Hey their names rhyme and that is just too too cute for Barry to pass up.

Other than Kerry I would say Nance, to pander to women, a/k/a buying votes.

Hillary: don’t drink the “cool- aid ” until you look at the Pepsi Connection:

We all know the real body of evidence against Obama probably lies less with his actual birth certificate and more with whether or not he used his dual citizenship to travel to Pakistan with a college friend in 1981 - at a time when there, supposedly, were travel restrictions upon US Citizens from doing so.

The friend with whom he traveled is Wahid Hamid, “now a vice president at Pepsico in New York, and according to public records, has donated the maximum $2,300 to the Obama campaign and is listed as a fund-raiser for it.”

You know Pepsi: it’s the name of the sports center arena where the Democratic Convention is being held in Denver this year. It’s also the outfit that may provide even more “soft money” to foot the bill.

I guess it wants to protect its $ 1.8 billion investment in Russia this year

Is that why they appear to be funding an anti- Hillary website:

Glad you brought this up, good post too. At the Olympic via TV there was a COKE ad. It had “snake head” Carvelle and an unknown man. The premise of the ad was changing “your view” The two men went and had a coke together, then as the music swelled and the words change your view were heard, there is a shot of a AA man. I may be reading too much into this ad, but I don’t think I am. It was “subtle” you had the two men, one I know is heavily in support of Barry then you have the change or switch your view and it shows a AA man. No I don’t think I got the wrong message, it was what it was….

Hi everyone. I know people are upset that Hillary was dong things for Obama. It doesn’t make me happy. However, Hillary has gotten incredible threats. She can’t voice publicly what she thinks. However, I believe she is privately trying to bring him down. Last week I was listening to Sean Hannity’s radio show and right after Howard Wolfson spoke, a girl with Clintons4McCain called and she said she had a 17 page FBI report on Obama that she wanted to send him. The only people who have the ability to get that report is Bill and Hillary Clinton. Please folks let’s not turn our backs on her. She’s still fighting for us. We need to still fight for her.

Why am I not surprised that we’re hearing, once again, about an imminent VP selection in 48 hours after Obama was shellacked Saturday night? This is like Edwards endorsement one day after Hillary destroyed Obama in WV.

We’ve been hearing about Obama’s near imminent VP pick for weeks. First we heard that it was going to be before the Olympics, then we hear that it’s going to be by text message, and now we’re given a 48 hour advance warning. What’s next? An announcement that Comet Halley is going to appear in the sky on the night of his sermon in Denver?

This is just another diversion, badly needed media spin for an embarassing candidate after yet another embarassing performance.

Unlike many of his peers he scrabbled from nothin (Hillary has this quality as well as she learned it, Bill lived it)
Bill always knew what we the poor and working class worried about and never treated us as if POVERTY was a crime and WORKINGCLASS was a moral or intellectual failing. He was living proof that those of us at the bottom had someone like us who understood. And He never talked down to the working class.

And yes, Bill Clinton did/does have a way of talking with people that is NOT patronizing or arrogant. He treats people - ALL people - with decency - when it won’t GET him anything, know what I mean? Hillary is that way, too. She does things for people because she cares about PEOPLE, not for recognition it would get her. That is something in very short supply with polticians, ESPECIALLY Obama.

Anyway - thanks, WCA!

Clyburn is a giant race-baiting douchebag of the highest order.

I actually saw the very same MSNBC clip linked in this thread. Needless to say, it really pissed me off, particularly since I’ve always defended blacks against white racism all the while knowing in the back of my mind how high profile blacks who get into trouble often play the race card, or how utterly sexist and reverse-racist African American pop culture is today, namely rap music & rap videos.

Mind you I’m by no means suggesting that blacks are more racist than whites, (as a one closet racist douchebag who regularly comments here on NoQuarter firmly asserted–from out of his ass no doubt. Good thing there’s only one such asshole here.) The social, economic, criminal-justice data out there proves beyond a shadow of a doubt there is still, even in Twenty-O-Eight, there’s still a lot of anti-black INSTITUTIONALIZED racism in America, despite the seemingly strong, indeed often stifling, political correctness out there. ONLY A ROYAL DOUCHEBAG WOULD OVERLOOK THIS FUNDAMENTAL FACT, AND ONLY A RACIST DOUCHEBAG WOULD THINK THAT INSTITUIONALIZED RACISM CAN EXIST IN A VACUUM. Further, I don’t cherry-pick my data; I only look at data which is reaffirmed year after year in study after study, and which done by different researchers.

But are blacks more sexist than whites? In many key ways, HELL YES. Just watch any rap video. Sexism is a stubborn disease that affects all cultures. Generally speaking, it affects people more belonging to less educated groups more than it does those from more educated groups. Yet even then women make 77 cents on the dollar for every dollar a man makes—for the same work, even though women achieve higher GPA’s in both high school and college then men. About 30% of all women in the US will be sexually assaulted within their lifetimes. Clearly, African Americans have NOT cornered the market on victimization. (But this is w.r.t. gender; w.r.t. race, Native Americans are the most likely to be victims of violent crime. Whites are the least likely to be victims of violent crime—quite contrary to what you see so-called “liberal media”. Hint, hint… About 13% of whites who are victims of violent crime are victimized by black criminals, but about 60% of Native Americans who are victims of violent crime are victimized by whites. There’s much more… And all of it is in the context of the whopping 60+% drop in violent crime during the Clinton years. Again, this is quite contrary to what the “liberal media” wants us to believe. )

Back to Clyburn…

The thing that blacks keep harping about concerning Bill Clinton is that he compared Obama to Jesse Jackson, suggesting that all Obama is just another black candidate, further suggesting that whites would not vote for him.

First it is NOT true. But for sake of argument, let’s assume this is true. Is it then racist? Not necessarily. From a literal standpoint, minus any “racial subtext”, it is NOT racist, since everyone in the media was always talking about this, and have always called it the “Bradley-Wilder effect”. That is, Bill Clinton was merely stating a fact, a fact which camp Obama now knows is going on to some degree in the general election (of course, working class whites have every right to be suspicious of Obama due to Jeremiah “God damn Amerikkka” Wright and Obama’s slippery answers concerning his statements over Wright). Keep in mind the political as well as racial demographics are quite different in the general election than from that of the Democratic primary process. BASIC logic dictates that one must eliminate ALL other possibilities (interpretations) before one can be certain of the conclusion. If Bill Clinton is stating a fact in its proper context, then he is simply stating a fact. A fact stated in its proper context is never race-baiting nor gender-baiting nor anything else that is so utterly divisive. BTW, team Obama nailed Ed Rendell for saying the same thing concerning Lynn Swann. Even Swann, a Republican Uncle Tom of a douchebag as well as the Philadelphia chapter of the NAACP, then quickly resorted to race-baiting Rendell in the exact same way Obama was race-baiting Bill. Rendell too was merely stating a fact, a fact which media pundits and political science professors routinely talk about since Tom Bradley. (I’ll get to the “facts stated in its proper context” thing later… This little side argument is very important.).

BTW, the “racial subtext” thingy works like this: All things being equal, white voters will vote for the white guy over the black guy. Similarly for the “gender subtext”: All things being equal, the voters, not just men, will vote for the man over the woman. It gets worse of course… The black guy or the woman can be ridiculously more qualified than the white guy and still lose. Of course, Hillary lost to an imminently unqualified black guy! Go figure.

Now lets consider Bill’s statement with the racial subtext. Is it racist now? No, because now we must bring in the full context, which always counts and was NOT really left out in the above argument above either. Here’s the full context:

1. Obama was already race-baiting Hillary when he scurrilously claimed Hillary denigrated Dr. King. Did she? HELL NO. She was merely stating a fact that it takes a President pass and enforce legislation, i.e. the 1964 Civil Rights Act. Dr. King gets full credit for leading the peaceful social movement leading to the Civil Rights Act, but put him back in the 1930’s and he would have achieved nothing. Put him back in the 1890’s and Dr. King would have achieved nothing. Put him back to the 1860’s and he would have achieved nothing. At best Dr. King would have been another Frederick Douglas: The slaves didn’t free themselves, the northern whites did it. It’s a fact and anyone saying anything else is revising history. Did Lincoln and the northern whites “love black people”? HELL NO. But the fact remains, they freed the slaves. As great as Dr. King is, and he definitely belongs on Mt. Rushmore if he had a been a President, he was ultimately just a catalyst for the greater movement towards equality in his time.

Question: Do you think Bill was ignorant or happy with what Obama did by accusing Hillary of denigrating Dr. King?

2. The Obama camp was also race-baiting Bill when Bill said of Obama’s inconsistent Iraq stances as being a “total fantasy”. And this was still before the New Hampshire primary. Obama’s henchmen immediately and deliberately misinterpreted it as saying it was a fantasy for a black man to run for President and so on. Bill was talking about substantive policy, and Obama thru his henchmen immediately turned it into race. (Note that when Hillary said Obama was not qualified, camp Obama in a thinly veiled way immediately turned that into an anti-Affirmative Action debate. And when Michelle “For the First Time in My Life…” Obama was asked why Barack was still losing the black vote to Hillary 2:1 back in January, she immediately pulled out the race card saying “We’re always told we’re not ready… Black people are going to wake up…” RACE-BAITING BULLSHIT. No one would ever attack the qualifications of African Americans like Colin Powell, Condi Rice, Frank Raines, Jesse Jackson, etc.. Such accomplished individuals can only be attacked on policy grounds.)

3. The Clinton campaign had already somehow acquired an internal memo from the Obama campaign basically detailing how they needed to play the race card at every turn, and play it fast, in order to peel away the black vote from Hillary. So Bill knew what was going on in camp O’Bullshit. This was smoking gun of a memo was actually brought up in the S. Carolina debate, I believe.

4. Bill has one of the best Civil Rights record of anyone out there, black or white. Only people like Dr. King and Jesse Jackson have better Civil Rights records.

5. Hillary’s Civil Rights record w.r.t. to women and children is stronger than Obama’s w.r.t. African American civil rights. Hillary, as a college student, also went to register Hispanics in Texas. Her civil rights credentials w.r.t. African Americans and Native Americans is no different.

6. Obama’s Civil Rights record is very thin, which is why Civil Rights legends like John Lewis, Charlie Wrangle, etc. were supporting Hillary. Indeed, the old Civil Rights guard, those who paid their dues in blood, sweat, and tears, were a bit suspicious of Obama. Julian Wright was quite late in supporting Obama—pretty much b’coz he had to. By his own admission in one of his memoirs, he said he never accomplished much as a community activist. And what good he did do, he pretty much cancelled it out by hanging around slumlords like Rezko and his ruthless backstabbing of Alice Palmer, an African American activist.
7. As already stated, Bill Clinton’s comparison of Obama to Jackson was a factually correct one. Jesse Jackson was a trail blazer who ran a historic campaign, and unlike the divisive race-baiter Barack O’Bullshit, Jackson ran on policy as an economic populist. Indeed Bill ask Jesse if Jesse was offended by his comparison and Jesse told him point blank: “No. I think we all know what is going on here.” Amazing how the corporate media never bothered to ask Jackson. Or if they did, they didn’t bother to show it.
8. FACTS MUST BE STATED IN THEIR PROPER CONTEXT. Is it possible to race-bait even when one is merely stating the facts? YES. Was Bill comparison of Obama to Jesse Jackson taken out of context by Bill himself? Or was it Obama who took it out of context? Was Hillary statement that it takes a President to sign and enforce legislation, which was 100% factual, taken out of context by her thereby denigrating Dr. King? Or was her statement taken out of context by the Obama camp?

One can easily race-bait with facts. How? The corporate media does it all the time: Their crime coverage. The archetypal victim is white and the archetypal criminal is black, and is out to rob, rape and murder white people. Nevermind that the FBI/DOJ’s own data shows year after year that whites are the least like to be victims of violent crime in America. How odd that the “liberal media” which always displays copious amounts of black crime on TV is going to turn around and accuse the Clintons of race-baiting, no? How odd, that the GOP, the party of Willie Horton and the Confederate flag is going to turn around and race-bait two people with stellar Civil Rights credentials, no?

Crime is now at historic lows. Blacks are more likely to victimize all other racial groups than they do whites. Indeed, blacks victimize blacks the most. The corporate media’s racist cherry-picking (racist scapegoating) grotesquely blows the issue of black crime out of proportion—and then some, hence, it is race-baiting every time it covers factually correct stories about how some big scary black guy attacked some white woman. The “liberal media” does this day in, day out, 24/7.

Did Bill blow things out of proportion when he compared Obama to Jesse Jackson? HELL NO.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vmE1VWUlOD0 —Bill and Obama on Jesse Jackson, ABC news,

Bill made little off the cuff remark, a factually correct one, where someone else was controlling the microphone. Bill was not on stage in front of thousands repeatedly comparing Obama to Jesse Jackson. And even if he did, it would be such mild race-baiting at best—something that a post-racial candidate who wants to “bring people together” should really just overlook.

Did Obama overlook Bill’s totally innocent, one-time, off the cuff, and factually correct statement? HELL NO!

Isaac Newton taught us over 300 years ago that “For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.” If the reaction is out of proportion to the action, then there’s sumptin’ wrong.

Obama and his henchmen mercilessly pounced on Bill’s one time factually correct remark as though Bill had said the N-word, “nappy headed ho’s” or “typical black person”. LOL.

It was astounding that African Americans incessantly alluded to this comparison to Jackson, one of the greatest Civil Rights leaders of all time, as “What Bill Clinton did in South Carolina!” What exactly did he do? It blatantly clear that they didn’t even want to say what Bill did, rather they just uttered that mindless mantra simply because it was a dubiously loaded statement. Obama himself was on stage in front of thousands repeating this mantra. Note that Obama typically plays good cop/bad cop and rarely if ever plays the race card himself. This is how he keeps his hands clean. But for Bill, he made it a point to try to destroy the former President who has one of the best Civil Rights records around.

When you make a mountain out mole hill, you’re a drama queen. When you do so and it involves race, YOU ARE THE RACE-BAITER. This applies to Obama, the GOP, and of course, the “liberal media”.

No matter how you look at it, context overrides subtext. The full context is that the comparison was accurate, done once as an off the cuff remark and literally on the street, and it was done by a guy with a great Civil Rights record who was already being race-baited by his wife’s opponent.

Thus, the bots need to take a sobering look in the mirror and while they’re at it…STF Up!

P.S. The other thing which the bots love to scurrilously pounce upon is Hillary’s “hard working whites” statement. This full context of Obama and working class whites is that he had called them not just bitter but RACIST: “They’re bitter and they cling to…antipathy towards those that aren’t like them… antipathy towards immigrants.” Recall Obama made this assertion when he was asked why he had such problems courting the working class white vote. This was just after the Jeremiah Wright story broke and his slippery statements concerning himself and Wright, and instead of citing Wright or that fact that working class white democrats love the both Clinton, he went straight for the jugular pulling out the race card. Hillary’s didn’t want to say working class whites weren’t voting for Obama because they were bitter or RACIST, which was the context of her statement, and that is why she said “hard working”. Think about it, should she have said they won’t vote for Obama b’coz they are “bitter and racist” as Obama asserted? Recall also that Hillary pounced on the “bitter” portion of Obama’s diatribe but not the racist aspect of it. Again this is evidence the Clinton campaign was going out of its way to avoid the divisive topic of race. Of course that not to say that Hillary was rather clumsy at handling this PR fiasco, which Obama, the GOP, and the black-crime-obsessed “liberal media” immediately pounced upon.

Recall also that in attacking Obama over the “bitter” comment calling him elitist, which is standard operating procedure in many past elections, e.g. Bush41 did it to Dukakis, Bush43 did it to Gore and Kerry, etc., the bots immediately played the race card again, turning “elitist” into “uppity”.

Go figure.
