Breaking News from Mark Halperin and The Page. Governor Ed Rendell tells the PolitikerPA:
“I’m going to cast my ballot for her, and then the moment I cast my vote, I’m going to continue to enthusiastically support Sen. Obama. It’s going to be a good release for all of us.”
He said this in his interview with the PolitikerPA:
Gov. Ed Rendell, in an interview with PolitickerPA.com today, lauded the resolution reached last week that will allow Clinton’s name to be placed in nomination, before U.S. Sen. Barack Obama (D-Ill.) ultimately accepts the party’s presidential nomination.
“I think Sen. Obama was extremely generous, and I think it’s good not because it will display any disunity, but because it honors the hard work of so many people who supported Sen. Clinton,” said Rendell, who was one of Clinton’s most visible and vociferous campaigners during the run-up to the state’s April primary. “Many of the Pennsylvania delegates worked their heart out for Sen. Clinton, and they’re excited to cast a vote for her. From my vantage point, that will be closure for them.
Rendell thinks it will be closure for Hillary’s supporters. The only way it will be closure for Hillary supporters is if she is the nominee. Hillary is still the best choice for the Democratic Party.
It is a little too late for Obama to try to woo us over. We are reminded each day that Donna Brazile said there is a new Democratic base and most of us aren’t welcome. Then Obama tells Hillary supporters to just “get over it”.
Thanks Governor Rendell but your promise to vote for Hillary in the Roll Call just isn’t enough.
Governor Rendell, remind the Super Delegates Obama has some real issues, issues that could result in defeat for the Democratic Party in November. Here is the worrisome list of issues (by no means inclusive) that elected delegates and SDs should consider before voting for Obama, False FEC filings, Votes in the IL Senate on the live birth measure, Illegal contributions received from the three brothers in the Gaza Strip, then there is the issue of his birth certificate (a petition drive is underway) to demand the FEC insist that Obama release a certified copy of his birth certificate, continued association with ACORN, a company with a history of voter fraud and misuse of taxpayer money and finally there are his poll numbers, tied with McCain for the third time in two weeks.

It is surface good news, it is a small step. If Rendell thinks people will get over it now because of a roll call….that should have happened in the first place …. then he is not the man I thought he was.
Obama is only the presumptive nominee….under normal circumstances, any convention this close WOULD HAVE AN ACTUAL VOTE AND NOT SOME PARTY! In normal circumstances…either one could win!
What in the hell is the convention for anyway? It is obviously a farce!
Certainly not for nominating a candidate for president since they expected to have that “locked up” before half of the 57 states had voted! And why bother bringing all those delegates in to stand up and yell “O-baaa-ma” when they could have just texted it a whole lot cheaper.
And if Obama just wanted to have a big party why didn’t he have it in Chicago so only his “friends” had to pay for it and not the half that didn’t want to attend. All I can think of is that, like Napoleon, he wanted his self-coronation witness by the multitudes he plans to rule over.
I wish INS would hurry up and figure out if he’s an Indonesian citizen and then deport him as fast as they do illegal Mexicans.

While I differ with Ed on some issues — he is doing his very best to remain loyal to Hillary. He delivered PA during the primaries when she needed it and he has been steadfast in his support. Let’s all remember that he also rebuked Obama’s offer to join the VP shortlist.
I agree whole heartedly, I would have liked to have seen the real rollcall vote not this big show to make obama more than he is. So much for wanting young people to be involved. Here was an opportunity for people to seen how our process works and they failed us. The voice of the democratic base was not heard but we got the message from the democratic leadership loud and clear. they made their pick and have pushed him on us all along. I was shocked and offended by the rollcall they should have just not had it if they were going to not allow all the states to publicly vote. I watched that crap only to have it cut short before my state even came up. Obama’s “misstatements” start around the time he was born - he even wrote a fictional biography so they could be easily referenced before he began running for public office - and haven’t ended yet. He seems to be getting weary of toting all the political positions he’s had to assume, since Senator Clinton gave so many detailed answers in her speeches, and seems to be spinning out of control more frequently.

I have thought about the Kennedy analogy so many times. Khruschev perceived Kennedy to be young and weak. Next thing you know we’ve got missile sites going up in Cuba. 3 Kids Fishing
Barack Obama was out jogging one morning along the
parkway when he tripped, fell over the bridge
railing and landed in the creek below.
Before the Secret Service guys could get to him, 3
kids who were fishing pulled him out of the water.
He was so grateful he offered the kids whatever they
wanted.
The first kid said, “I want to go to Disneyland.”
Barack said, “No problem, I’ll take you there in my
special Senator’s airplane.”
The second kid said, “I want a new pair of Nike Air
Jordan shoes.”
Barack said, “I’ll get them for you and even have
Michael Jordan sign them!”
The third kid said, “I want a motorized wheelchair
with a built in TV and stereo headset.”
Barack was a little perplexed by this and said, “But
you don’t look like you’re handicapped.”
The kid said, “I will be after my dad finds out I
saved your ass from drowning!”
Near Fredericksberg, Texas where there is a large German-speaking population, a farmer walking down a country road notices a man drinking from a pond, with his hand.
The German man shouts: ‘Trink das wassernicht. Die kuhen haben dahin gesheissen’

I don’t know about you folks, but if this is merely a symbolic gesture, it is only going to make me madder. Yes that is all it is…that is how it has been reported even…symbolic….Obama has been making sure he would not loose, he would not have agreed to the vote if he was not sure he would come out on top.
