Are you watching the speeches? Did you listen to NQ radio tonight? Give us your impressions of what you’ve seen and heard tonight!

In the meantime, here’s a pic of the DNC stage from Lynn Sweet, of the Chicago Sun-Times. Kinda looks three camels short of a manger scene.

I wasn’t able to hear the NQR radio program. What channle is it on? I only get AM, CD, and C-B radio here.

Thank God I have plenty of tapes of “Saving Grace” with Holly Hunter so I don’t have to watch this convention c**p!

Comment by LisaB | 2008-08-26 20:49:29

Just click on the link in the advertisement. NQ radio is over the internet and you can listen while you read.

I am getting tired of the media talking heads trying to extract commitments from Clinton folks to support Obama without reservation. I am not looking foward to hearing Clinton stretch reality to express support for Obama.

Comment by AngryWhitePerson | 2008-08-26 20:48:30

God came down from the mountain today and told me I must vote for Obama. I said, “Oh yeah buddy? Then why did you give me free will?”

That’s what I think when the talking heads try to blame Clinton for Obama’s debacle or get her to get us to vote for him. FUCK YOU Mainstream Media. Worthless stenographers for the last eight years and now just lying liars.

Is this keynote speaker the new rising star of the DNC?? This is what they were saying if that is the case well lord help them they are really nuts lol

Comment by IronMan | 2008-08-26 20:52:03

Mark Warner = zzzzzzzzzzzz

Crowd sounds quiet. NO ENERGY at all!

Dude is putting America to sleep tonight with his speech.

Hillary is coming up soon! She’ll rock the house and prove once again that she IS the strongest candidate for POTUS!

Comment by FOX "news" is a total farce | 2008-08-26 21:13:55

Really? Mark Warner just gave a brilliant speech that anyone concerned about the future of America should have heard. The man laid it all out.

It was shown in it’s entirety on every station I checked, save one: FOX “news”.

Their convention “coverage” of the speech consisted of the same talking heads as usual, spouting the same slanted bullsh-t as usual, with the words of the keynote democratic speaker inaudible in the background.

Some FOX windbag will probably tell their audience later just how pointless the entire convention moment was. If they flicked channels at any point during Warner’s presentation, they might be beginning to suspect just how pointless FOX actually is.

Kossack begging PUMAs to ‘get over it’ and vote for Obama.

ha!
I will. Just as soon as Obama declares the Clintons are not racists! - his campaign and bots perpetuated the false accusations, assisted by the media - and he should have spoken up and admitted it when it first began - before the primaries! And he wants the narrative to end NOW!

Mark Warner….fail.

Not impressed. But he is damn good looking.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Amerikkka Wright | 2008-08-26 20:54:09

…well for a politician.

Comment by Ms. Misdemeanor | 2008-08-26 21:26:37

I’m a Virginian.

And Warner is a damned formidable politician.

He did what all he said he did.

I think he really wanted to get the speech over with.

Just being a good soldier.

That was a fairly good keynote speech.

The problem was that no one was there.

The Democratic Convention is a dead zone.

You’re just watching a dead dog bounce, on TV.

And Jeremiah, you apparently don’t know fiddle-fuck about Virginia.

And I really think you should reserve your comments for something you really know something about!

I have never seen so boring a political convention!

There is No energy. No buzz. Delegates just seem uninspired.

Warner is giving the Keynote Speech right now, but you know everybody is just waiting for Hillary.

She will, I predict, bring them to their feet. And she will do her best to promote Barky, even though we all know her heart is not in it. It’s such a tough position for her, and so unfair.

88 years and counting…

Go HILLARY!

I can’t say what I think when I look amongst the crowd at the crowd’s response. Weak. So far this whole convention has not had one shining moment. The DNC has ruined their own chances.

Comment by democracyfirst | 2008-08-26 21:01:59

Someone just said Obama is the greatest orator in history. If I hear one more person say that, I’ll know it’s time to get my ears checked.

He is one of the worst orators I’ve ever heard. He is boring, no passion, he’s got the Bush s**t eatin’ grin and mocking gestures and words. He speaks haltingly, peppering his speeches with more uhs and ums than actual words. He constantly misspeaks, and that is in addition to his lies. And he never says anything.

What are these people hearing I’m not hearing? Will they look back and wonder the same thing?

Comment by Perry Logan | 2008-08-26 21:16:44

I’m with you. Obamites seem to mistake creepiness for charisma.

When you see those YouTube clips where they show Obama saying something, then show you the speaker Obama stole the lines from, the original speaker is always much better than Obama.

What a crappy stage! No American flags - I don’t see anything that says America.

I hope there is not too high an expectation of Hillary bringing the crowd to it’s feet; she’s got to be tired - missing her best friend Tubb-Jones and being under such scrutiny by the mad dog press.

Comment by Crystal | 2008-08-26 21:08:26

I noticed that. Where are the flags? Just a crappy Obama-like background.

Comment by wac for hillary | 2008-08-26 21:36:54

That’s what I thought–where’s all the red, white, and blue bunting and flags. Maybe this is the change they keep blathering about–no more red, white, and blue.

Comment by UniversityofIowaJR | 2008-08-26 21:06:21

I like Ted Strickland, I am hoping I don’t have to sit through Deval Patrick’s crappy speech Obama will probably steal later to see Hillary’s speech

Comment by Dave_Not_For_Obambi | 2008-08-26 21:14:32

Ditto.
Excited because I know Hillary will raise the roof off that boring convention and sad because I know it’s not really in her heart, she has to do it to survive another day (2012).

It’s sickening to hear all the talking heads at CNN pin Obambi’s chances all on this one speech of hers.

Oh, by the way can somebody slap that idiot Berstien(sp), what a f_k’in tool low life slime bag.

Comment by God Damn Michelle Obama | 2008-08-26 21:33:32

What are they saying? Are they discussing Michelle Obama’s new role of mother? Are they mentioning how the woman who cares so much about her children dragged them to a God Damn America church wherein the paster, Reverend Jeremiah Wright, uttered profanity, issued death threats and humped the altar?

Comment by JML | 2008-08-26 21:09:38

Comment by Thinker | 2008-08-26 22:16:36

exactly. Hillary has more class in her pinky finger than Meshelle has in her whole entire body. Why is that woman always frowning? It’s like it hurts her face to smile.

That was a fabulous video intro. What a great set up. And the speech? I thought she was brilliant. Covered all the bases and had ‘em up on their feet, talking basic Dem principles, speaking to the audience in a personal, think about what you’re doing way. Really whipped people up with the Harriet Tubman references. She gave everyone a generous nod and managed to get the Democratic blood going.

That was a class act!
