Another Addition to the Larry Johnson “You Can’t Make This Stuff Up” Collection

Brought to you by the irony-free Barack Obama campaign. The hits just keep on coming. Courtesy of Howard Dean, Donna Brazile and Nancy Pelosi: Denver hosts the world’s biggest toga party!

Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple….

…Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

Hmmm..noooo, I don’t think so. I’ve seen the set. Looks like a Greek Temple to me, not the Capitol or the White House. But nice try Reuters.

Egomania or what?
I can imagine how well the fake Greek columns will go over in Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia and the rest of the damn country.

This is really a “Let them eat cake” blunder, typical of the elitism that distinguishes BO and his sycophants.

I won’t be watching him, that’s for sure.

I couldn’t help but listen to the latte liberals talking about the convention last night.
They kept asking each other for reasurrance and giving each other emotional support about Michelle’s speech and how that was coming across.
I actually heard one of them say
“I don’t think those Bitter racist folk have TV’s to watch how great Obama is”.

I turned to them and told them they’re right…

Does anyone know if we can write in Hillary Clinton during the November election? How do we do that with an electronic voting machine?

Comment by College Educated for Hillary | 2008-08-27 10:42:56

You can write her name in even on electronic machines but you should check to see how your state counts write in votes. Some record it as a vote for the person you write in and some count it for the party. Call your County Clerk to find out. I did, New Jersey counts for the person you write in.

All this money wasted with overly priced staged management and not a Greek temple I would love to see the design bill for all this crap. I think they should also throw in a few chariots to bring in the King.

Yep this sure is one for the books, talk about big spenders I shudder to think what Obama will do with public funds if he gets his hands on it, he sure seems to think spending as the sky is the limit when it comes to winning an election, so how if he does get into office can he ever turn back from that?

Comment by A SLAP IN THE FACE | 2008-08-27 09:16:21

Also, the ancient Greeks loved boys more than women. They viewed women as filthy beasts.

Comment by tzada | 2008-08-27 11:36:19

We now know that Barry’s mentor (sure does need a lot of them)Frank Marshall Davis was a pedophile, and Ayers bisexual. We have heard about the Purple Room hotel in Chicago, where at least one man connected to the Rezko mess, said men would go there and party all day and do drugs.

As far as gay people, I have no problem with them. The problem lies if a person running for POTUS was bi sexual and did not disclose it. They would be open to blackmail. That is why there is a vetting process, or supposed to be one.

Haven’t been watching ANY cable “news” networks for months and months - for obvious reasons.

But last night I watched the CONvention coverage on Fox - fair and balanced - imagine that!

One thing - they said that Fox, on the first night of the DNC, had much higher ratings than CNN and they, of course, squashed MSNBC - at the “Democratic” CONvention!

So, it seems a whole helluva lotta people are watching Fox cover this barkypalooza - and I can’t wait to see their reaction to the royal Greek treatment of “The One.” Should be hilarious.

Interesting that it’s widely known that one of BO’s biggest problems is working class folks and supposedly he’s now trying to court that group - well - this royal treatment for HIMSELF should go a long way toward reconciling with us regular folk, eh? As somebody on one of the blogs said, if he REALLY wanted to appeal to real people, he’d have done this in a humble setting where he could talk about real things and relate like real people TO real people. Not his style, though - obviously.

I hope the pundits CRUCIFY him - though I don’t hold out much hope for that, except on Fox. What are the bots gonna do if his poll numbers drop after his own CONvention? LOL!

He is writing the campaign ads for them, and the idiotic new Obamacrats are too full of themselves to realize they are paying homage to Oblah, Oblah building his own political tomb.

I love Hillary and keep thinking about what she said last night about all of the “invisible” people. Because of what Hillary said, I am somehow supposed to believe that this narcissistic egomaniac sees anything beyond his own reflection?

Barack’s own brother is invisible to him and living in poverty. He doesn’t see his own brother so I am supposed to believe he sees all the invisible people of America? I think not. The Greek Columns are in his way.

Nice try, Hillary, but BO’s actions undermine eveything you tried to do last night.

Note: Stupidist comment made by and Obamacrat about Hillary’s speech last night: “If the Hillary we saw last night was there before, I wouldn’t have even considered Barack.”

Well, it all makes sense. Obama lacks the substance to back up the hype, so he has to resort to the appearance of substance. But his handlers’ attempt at projecting gravitas using props, both human and architectural, winds up inadvertently exacerbating The One’s image as an empty suit celebrity.

It reminds me of a newly wealthy family friend we used to have. He had amassed a fortune from the dot com boon in the 90s by stealing ideas from his partner whom he had defrauded. Anyways he promptly built a mansion for himself and his family, was especially proud of the library in his home. The library had much to be envied, but was rather perplexing given the owner’s self- professed aversion to reading. Secretly, he’d tell friends that it’s all for show only, since he was now wealthy and needed to project an air of refinement. Being around people like this since I was a child, I can spot insincerity a mile away. Obama has always seem phony to me….all show and no substance.

Watch out for halogens to be used too. Angels could be made to appear in the sky, or something similar. The voice of god or the like. Something that will enthrall his cultists and vulnerable peoples through out the world. This man is not just about taking the USA he has plans for the world.
