ACORN Recycled At The Republican National Convention
By NancyA on September 10, 2008 at 12:01 AM in ACORN, Backtrack Obama, David Plouffe, Obama, Pennsylvania, Pittsburgh, Voter Fraud
According to Michelle Malkin, the “far left” was not at all amused by Rudy Giuliani’s joke about Obama’s “community organizing” days. And they were even less amused by Governor Sarah Palin’s replay of Obama’s days in Chicago. Malkin had this to say:
I laughed out loud when Giuliani laughed out loud while noting Barack Obama’s deep experience as a “community organizer.” I laughed again when VP nominee and Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin cracked: “I guess a small-town mayor is sort of like a ‘community organizer,’ except that you have actual responsibilities.”
Malkin wasn’t laughing near as hard as I was. I started the whole brouhaha at NoQuarter about ACORN here, here and here, with the Pittsburgh Tribune finally covering the story.
More from Malkin on the laugh fest!
Team Obama was not amused. (Neither were the snarky left-wingers on cable TV who are now allergic to sarcasm.) They don’t get why we snicker when Obama dons his Community Organizer cape. Apparently, the jibes rendered Obama’s advisers sleepless. In a crack-of-dawn e-mail to Obama’s followers hours after Giuliani and Palin spoke, campaign manager David Plouffe attempted to gin up faux outrage (and, more importantly, donations) by claiming grave offense on the part of community organizers everywhere.
Plouffe let loose with an “outraged retort”, saying this,
“Both Rudy Giuliani and Sarah Palin specifically mocked Barack’s experience as a community organizer on the South Side of Chicago more than two decades ago, where he worked with people who had lost jobs and been left behind when the local steel plants closed. Let’s clarify something for them right now. Community organizing is how ordinary people respond to out-of-touch politicians and their failed policies.”
Really. What explains Obama teaching classes for ACORN? Why is ACORN implicated in the subprime home mortgage mess? Why do they continue to commit fraudulent voter registration drives? And why does Obama continue to use them to do his bidding?
More from Malkin.
With benefactors like Obama in office, ACORN has milked nearly four decades of government subsidies to prop up chapters that promote the welfare state and undermine the free market, as well as some that have been implicated in perpetuating illegal immigration and voter fraud.
With the passage of the new housing bill, written by banks, passed by a Democratic congress and signed by President Bush, ACORN and other groups like them are due a new multi-million influx of money.
Here is an example of ACORN’s latest fraudulent work. From Malkin,
Last week, Milwaukee’s top election official announced plans to seek criminal investigations of 37 ACORN employees accused of offering gifts to sign up voters (including prepaid gas cards and restaurant cards) or falsifying driver’s license numbers, Social Security numbers or other information on voter registration cards.
Last month, a New Mexico TV station reported on the child rapists, drug offenders and forgery convicts on ACORN’s payroll. In July, Pennsylvania investigators asked the public for help in locating a fugitive named Luis R. Torres-Serrano, who is accused “of submitting more than 100 fraudulent voter registration forms he collected on behalf of the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now to county election officials.” Also in July, a massive, nearly $1 million embezzlement scheme by top ACORN officials was exposed.
I am not sure why Obama is being let off the hook despite citizen complaints to the FEC. Obama always seems to be able to amend whatever report he wants and the government does nothing. As usual the government is asleep at the wheel.
And the last thing from Malkin is this, aptly put,
Now, don’t you dare challenge his commitment to following tax and election laws. And don’t you even think of entertaining the possibility that The One exploited a nonprofit supposedly focused on helping low-income people for political gain.
He was just “organizing” his “community.” Guffaw.

Let’s not ignore acorn’s latest law breaking.
Aug. 27, 2008 CLEVELAND — A national organization that conducts voter registration drives for low-income people has curtailed its push in Cuyahoga County after the Board of Elections accused its workers of submitting fraudulent registration cards. The board is investigating the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. Results of the inquiry could be turned over to the county prosecutor. Board employees said ACORN workers often handed in the same name on a number of voter registration cards, but showing that person living at different addresses. Other times, cards had the same name listed, but a different date of birth. Still another sign of possible fraud showed a number of people living at an address that turned out to be a restaurant. ACORN has submitted about 75,000 voter registration cards to the Cuyahoga board this year. Board employees are unsure how many of the cards are fraudulent. But the voter registration department received so many suspicious cards that it began compiling a binder with evidence. The binder grew to be an inch-thick. http://blog.cleveland.com/metro/2008/08/cuyahoga_board_probes_voter_re.html
Lou Dobbs had the ACORN Ohio fraud on his show:

Good article.
Also PLEASE go to this link to learn more about the type of community organizing Sen Obama was involved with in Chicago.

ALSO PLEASE read bloggers comments-especially mine.
More details provided in links that I include in my (athy) comments.
Take a look at Chicago’s murder rate just this past summer and Chicago’s joblessness rate…PLEASE TELL US SEN OBAMA…just exactly what did you do in the past (as community organizer) and in the present (as legislator) for your constituents?
A grat article!

Yes, Palin Did Stop That Bridge
By JIM DEMINT
September 10, 2008; Page A15
“But, you know, when you’ve been taking all these earmarks when it’s convenient, and then suddenly you’re the champion anti-earmark person, that’s not change. Come on! I mean, words mean something, you can’t just make stuff up.” — Barack Obama, Sept. 6, 2008
In politics, words are cheap. What really counts are actions. Democrats and Republicans have talked about fiscal responsibility for years. In reality, both parties have a shameful record of wasting hundreds of billions of tax dollars on pork-barrel projects.
My Senate colleague Barack Obama is now attacking Gov. Sarah Palin over earmarks. Having worked with both John McCain and Mr. Obama on earmarks, and as a recovering earmarker myself, I can tell you that Mrs. Palin’s leadership and record of reform stands well above that of Mr. Obama.
Let’s compare.
Mrs. Palin used her veto pen to slash more local projects than any other governor in the state’s history. She cut nearly 10% of Alaska’s budget this year, saving state residents $268 million. This included vetoing a $30,000 van for Campfire USA and $200,000 for a tennis court irrigation system. She succinctly justified these cuts by saying they were “not a state responsibility.”
Meanwhile in Washington, Mr. Obama voted for numerous wasteful earmarks last year, including: $12 million for bicycle paths, $450,000 for the International Peace Museum, $500,000 for a baseball stadium and $392,000 for a visitor’s center in Louisiana.
Mrs. Palin cut Alaska’s federal earmark requests in half last year, one of the strongest moves against earmarks by any governor. It took real leadership to buck Alaska’s decades-long earmark addiction.
Mr. Obama delivered over $100 million in earmarks to Illinois last year and has requested nearly a billion dollars in pet projects since 2005. His running mate, Joe Biden, is still indulging in earmarks, securing over $90 million worth this year.
Mrs. Palin also killed the infamous Bridge to Nowhere in her own state. Yes, she once supported the project: But after witnessing the problems created by earmarks for her state and for the nation’s budget, she did what others like me have done: She changed her position and saved taxpayers millions. Even the Alaska Democratic Party credits her with killing the bridge.
This is looking so bad for ACORN that its nutty to think that Obama hasn’t already squirreled away some of the proceeds…
Al Capone was a community organizer in Chicago too.
Nice to see this story is finally getting some traction but Michelle Malkin has all the credibility of a pit viper on acid. We’ll need a better level of ‘reportage’ before this will be taken seriously.
I read her first article on ACORN right after the debate, and she sounded pretty lucid. There was a lot less venom than in most MSM election coverage.
this is not about Malkin.
This story has been all over the MSM.
OMG. I had no idea. This makes my physically nauseated. Go to hell, Obama. Go to fucking hell, you piece of shit. Do not pass Go, do not collect $200. I’m disgusted, totally disgusted, and I thought we’d seen the worst about Obama. My fear is we haven’t seen anything yet. As for Plouffe: seriously - what a sicko. They almost got as many votes as Hillary. That’s a lot of beds in tomorrow’s mental institutions.
May I suggest a Lipstick Mailing Drive.
We all have old lipsticks in our make-up bags that we need to get rid of so let’s send them to the Democratic Party or local Dem leaders:

If anyone has a nice red they’d like to send in, include a note that it would be agreat color on Biden.
He’s looking a bit pale lately.
I was impressed by the research in Byron York’s piece on Obama’s community organizing which points out that, at the time, Obama actually rejected some its fundamental principles when he quit and went to Harvard.
One of the principles was supposed to be that you empower people to be self-fulfilling, you don’t start “movements” that require charismatic leaders. Obviously our messiah-in-training had a problem with that.
Another principle was that you don’t tell people what they need, you ask them and let them drive their fulfilment. Well, the people told Obama they needed jobs. So he tried talking to the mayor. He tried this and that with the local business community. No luck - he couldn’t create any jobs. So he started, I don’t know, organizing people to fix the plumbing in old housing projects or something - fine, but that wasn’t their chief concern. He failed at solving their chief concern.
Which prompts me to the question: if you’re really gifted and a great thinker and manager, and the people in your community need jobs, why don’t you try… starting a business?!? Obviously for all of Obama’s so-called brilliance, that one never occurred to him. If the government can’t do it I guess in Obama’s book it can’t be done. “No we can’t.”
Thesis: anybody who votes for the downticket bastards running with Obama is as bad as one who votes for the caucus thieves themselves.
ACORN also scammed Katrina relief.
They gave Edwards and Obama the equivalent of campaign appearances with items targeting Florida and Michigan.
Imagine that, a registration company that actually helps votes not count by backing the people who pulled names off the ballot. Not unlike the first time Obama ever took office, getting legit ballots and voters and candidates decertified.
The freezer full of cash in NOLA had ties to a software company that created cut outs for money laundering from Nigeria. ACORN appears to have been one such outfit, through members links and shared contractor duties.
Speaking of Nigeria, Judah Benjamin has managed to link Khalid al-Mansour to Dr. Ndi Okereke-Onyiuke (director general of the Nigerian stock exchange), William Ayers and Senator Obama. Benjamin’s theory is that Sutton wasn’t writing a letter of recommendation to Harvard Law, but to someone else to help with Senator Obama’s run for the Illinois state senate. That would explain why Sutton mentioned that Senator Obama had met the requirements for Harvard Law and been president of the Law Review when he wrote his letter of recommendation. It would also explain why al-Mansour was busy raising money for Senator Obama, not for his tuition but his campaign.
Al-Mansour’s ties to the banking industry is in Nigeria and West Africa, not the U.S. He would have been raising money the money in Africa. He was a director of the United Bank of Africa (UBA). Dr. Okereke-Onyiuke during the time he was a director obtained millions from the bank for business deals. There was a bank reformation and merge with two other banks, Al-Mansour was removed as a director and a dispute developed between Okereke-Onyiuke and the UBA as to where all the millions had gone. Dr. Okereke-Onyiuke has also had problems with raising money for campaigns in Nigeria, she likes the shady side of politics.
I usually disregard conspiracy theories. They’re fun, but often low on substance. But in this instance, enough puzzle pieces fit to take notice - just like with the birth certificate. You can read Judah Benjamin’s theory at Texas Darlin’s blog and the theory linking Ayers with al-Mansour here:

These people are slime. WHY are they allowed to continue on?
because slimey politicians always need slimey bastards to do their dirty slimey work to steal votes…
a. hillary
b. mccain
america first!
It continues to amaze me that Obama, as scummy, dishonest, sexist and completely unqualified to be President has even gotten this close to the Oval office. Money can buy alot of things.
It sure can.
Did you know that George W. Bush is the first convicted criminal to be President?
And Dick Cheney is the first Vice President with a criminal record.
If the Dems have gone bad, it was the Republicans who showed the way.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AyrMS6MBuSg
Not having a party, I have no problem talking about Republican corruption. Right now, however, the common enemy (Team Obama) is in danger of stealing the election as it stole caucuses.
If there is a contested election, it’s the House of Representatives that decides (well, if we decide to follow the constitution).
I hope that Democrats who are casting a commendable protest vote against Obama will think twice about rewarding the downticket.
I have a trivia question. Who is the person I replced with brackets:
Who is [xxx] No googling please
the notion of American support for the creation of a Jewish state in Palestine was already being discussed in 1844, put forth in a best-selling book entitled Visions of the Valley that called for the United States to spearhead an international effort to establish a modern Judean state.
The book was authored by one Professor [George Bush], a direct ancestor of two other George Bushes
Money can buy a lot of things and the question we’re asking is can it buy democracy? And the answer is NO because winning or seizing through deception, fear or intimidation changes democracy of the People, by the People and for the People into something else.
We’ve fought a Constitutional battle to get our democracy back for 8 years and if Soetoro/Obama “wins” this one it will have been almost a whole generation (2000-2016) before we will again have an opportunity to emphasis the legal “Right of the People to alter or to abolish it…” We have tried for 8 long years “…to institute new Government…” and have been stopped by our own representatives at every attempt. Each time the principles of Democracy are thwarted by the government pledged to protect it, it gets that much harder for the People to retain their “Right..to alter” their own democracy.
This election isn’t just about the selection of an unknown senator with several aliases and criminal friends; it is about a political party’s influence to deny the Will of the People for reasons we neither know or understand. And the other question that we must ask ourselves as a democratic society is what will the government gain from Soetor/Obama appointment to the Executive Branch? And what will it lose?
My overwhelming fear is how many counties and municipalities have NOT caught on to fraudulent voter registration practices, and how is this going to affect the general election? Given what we saw in the primary, they apparently will do anything to get Obama elected. Who is REALLY going to be overseeing this?
This could make the elections of 2000 and 2004 look like romper room if these fraudsters get their way. Just like Hillary winning the most votes, but losing the primary, they will make sure THEIR candidate will win, however they have to accomplish this. Sure, there aren’t caucuses in the GE, but what other nefarious schemes do they have planned?
I know this may sound paranoid, but who would have ever believed our own party would not only condone but PARTICIPATE in the whole debacle of the 2008 Democratic Primary???
Just because you may sound paranoid doesn’t mean it hasn’t happened. The 2008 election was a repeat of 2000 and 2004 where GWB “won” by Supreme Court appointment and the Senate refusing to acknowledge that 2004 investigation done by Congressman Conyers. After that fiasco, I’d believe anything and I certainly saw with my own eyes how Soetoro/Obama “won” that Democratic primary.
You can’t openly take votes from other candidates and give them to the guy who lost and call it a “win” and still expect anyone to believe they are living in a Democratic/Republic. That’s the way the Bad Guys we call dictators win elections.
All you Hillary “supporters” really keep strange friends, sourcing the malkin’s of the world, at least you’re not pretending anymore to be anything but what you are
joe bob
you’re the strangest friend we have!
NancyA
You’ve done a super job following this.
I’d say a certain little pet rodent owes you a big, fat apology! (But don’t hold your breath.)
Love ya Navy!
joe bob–it’s not just what you say, but what you DO AND HAVE DONE..I’ve got SEVERAL Democratic GE elections chalked up working my butt off for losers. And I’m not just talking about blogging, I’m talking about getting out and working. Yes, I stand for DEMOCRATIC principles but the question is DOES THE CURRENT DEMOCRATIC PARTY???? Don’t you see that there is NO DIFFERENCE ANY MORE?? We used to be the “good guys” or so we thought. You’re too blind to see what’s going on.
Please. Malkin doesn’t deserve to be cited as some kind of authority unless the subject is smearing, lying, and being a loudmouthed know-nothing. This is the woman who urged her wingnut supporters to stalk and harass a working-class family in Baltimore because they dared to speak up in favor of a health care program the Republicans didn’t like. This is a woman who has published the phone numbers and addresses of people whose political views she dislikes and encouraged her readers to threaten them.
Sometimes, the enemy of my enemy is still my enemy.
Oh, and another thing: to the Malkins of the world, the “far left” represents anyone who doesn’t take Pol Pot and Stalin as political role models. This meme that Obama represents some “far left” or “extreme liberal” view is the stupidest political trope in decades, right up there with Bush being a “compasionate conservative.” If the “far left” controlled the Democratic Party we’d be saying hello to President Kucinich.
Methinks I smell a couple of BOTs!
I summarized Obama’s ACORN ties here if anyone’s interested:
http://www.fightbarack.com/articles/2008/09/12/will-obamas-acorn-investment-net-him-several-stolen-states/
[...] http://noquarterusa.net/blog/2008/09/10/acorn-recycled-at-the-republican-national-convention/ [...]
this is an idiot website…ACORN is helping Americans access their voting rights and you are trying to manipulate the election and abuse Americans…you are an elitist and not a patriot.
