Veteran’s Affairs Chief Crumbles Under Pressure From Congressional Democrats

At Yahoo, in The Crypt there was a little noticed report that just “jacks my jaws.” It seems that Veterans Affairs Secretary Peake can’t hold his own against Congressional Democrats. They put so “much pressure” on him that he reversed his own decision and will now let groups like ACORN and MoveOn.org invade the VA facilities with voter registrants.

Who do you think is behind this? Obama of course. You know the guy who pays ACORN to commit voter fraud and pays front companies for their work on get-out-the-vote work. It isn’t bad enough he used ACORN to cheat with the civilian vote, now he is going to use groups to cheat with the veteran vote.

And of course, the asshat has this to say:

Obama issued a statement saying, “I commend Secretary Peake’s decision today. The key will be implementation. We must ensure that the VA’s doors are open to non-partisan groups, as well as state and local government agencies, to enable veterans to register to vote in a timely fashion, complete absentee ballots, and receive rides to the polls.”

I have to use the VA for medical services since I am a 100% totally, permanently disabled female Navy veteran. In my opinion, this is a violation of my right to privacy. I don’t want to be bombarded by voter registrants while I am sitting in a facility I feel is already hostile towards me.

I have been waiting nearly ten years to get my hands fixed which are getting progressively worse, and the VA won’t fix them. Nope I was told nada, no way but I have to put up with non-partisan groups trying to sign me up to vote because Peake is a coward! Non-partisan groups….you mean ACORN, which claims to be non-partisan but generally will run screaming from the sight of a Republican. We know they have not been non-partisan this year as they have worked almost exclusively for Obama from February 2008 to May 2008.

I even called my Congressman, Todd Tiahrt, his office hung up on me in Washington, DC, not interested. Senator Brownback’s office in DC, said “we will tell the Senator.” and I got the brush off from Senator Pat Robert’s office in DC too. I did get one of Roberts constituent representatives in Wichita, KS to give a damn! She asked me to write a letter that will be sent to the Senator in DC.

The short and long of this is Obama should not be allowed to bring his “non-partisan groups” (ACORN) into a facility that is meant for veterans especially since we have to receive out medical treatment there. And we want to receive it in PEACE!

Thank you NancyA for this post. It just gets progressively worse. How much more can Barry get away with? And why would a Republican cave to his demands. What’s wrong with this picture? I am deeply sorry that you’re having problems with your hands and that the VA won’t fix them. What a horrific way to treat those who have served our country, and now to get bombarded while in a VA facility…it just goes to show we need to vote for McCain/Palin

This is a good and important post. Thanks, Nancy. I’m sick of an anti-American clown like Obama trying to co-opt the military, an entity Obama clearly despises.

Here is an action item — Howard Kurtz is crying that the liberal media is mad at McCain/Palin. He quotes Josh Marshall, et al. Go and tell Kurtz YOU are mad that NOBODY has vetted Obama in the least:

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/linkset/2005/04/11/LI2005041100587.html?hpid=topnews

We must fight back against the MSM so they cannot rig the election for Obama with their stilted coverage. Please go and leave Kurtz a comment expressing your disgust with his pathetic column and his and his colleagues’ tanked-out, BS swooning for BaJoke.

Comment by UBM | 2008-09-12 02:49:28

Ummm… Paul? Pauly baby? How about putting this bullshit talking point about “Obama-hasn’t-been-vetted” out of its misery?

Didn’t Barack Obama go through 20 debates during the Democratic primaries?

Didn’t the Clinton campaign do opposition research?

Aren’t the Republicans doing opposition research?

In the new information era — from blogs to YouTube — everyone gets vetted the way presidential candidates have never been vetted before. Just ask Sarah Palin.

It’s unfortunate that ABC felt they had to edit Sarah’s interview. I would like to see the full interview.

Sen Obama has been vetted?

Okay…by whom-names please and agencies.

If all the following information has been reviewed and dismissed as ‘not applicable’ by the people doing the vetting-then our country is in much more serious trouble than I thought we were in…

Is everyone comfortable with Sen Obama’s circle of friends and close associates???

We dont want ANY of these people getting anywhere Washington DC, our Constitution, or our Bill of Rights.

These are all close associates of Sen Obama.

Obama Sued in Philadelphia Federal Court (Constitutionally Ineligible for the Presidency)
| 8/21/08 | Jeff Schreiber

Posted on Thursday, August 21, 2008 5:00:24 PM by LdSentinal

http://freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/2065855/posts

A prominent Philadelphia attorney and Hillary Clinton supporter filed suit this afternoon in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Pennsylvania against Illinois Sen. Barack Obama and the Democratic National Committee. The action seeks an injunction preventing the senator from continuing his candidacy and a court order enjoining the DNC from nominating him next week, all on grounds that Sen. Obama is constitutionally ineligible to run for and hold the office of President of the United States.

Sen Obama’s mother and maternal grandparents…who were they REALLY and how did they earn their living ?

Why is Sen Obama SO quiet about his mother and maternal grandparents?

http://www.time.com/time/nation/article/0,8599,1729524-2,00.html

http://www.deepjournal.com/p/7/a/en/1497.html

Oh no UBM…Sen Obama has not been vetted properly. And when the truth comes out, there are going to be very many voters wanting to know, like I do, who exactly vetted Sen Obama…

With regards to who vetted Sen Obama- DO I detect a best case scenario of professional liability lawsuit or a worst case scenario- accusation of committing an act of treason?

If somebody wants to vote, all they need to do is write, call, or email to their county registrar. May you find yourself on the bus the next time you have to go to the county for the STD treatment you need–when your head is so f****d over, you are sure to have some nasty things going on in there.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-09-12 01:18:36

Yea well they need every vote they can get. The polls are not looking good for them. Having McCain take a lead at this time is what happened to Kerry in 2004 and we all know how that turned out. Remember the disastrous debate that Bush had. Even that did not help Kerry enough to over come the electorate and he had a very unified democratic party. The DNC is anything but unified this time around. In 2004 in September there were Kerry signs every where in my city but this year there are only few Obama signs and stickers. Is it just me or is the nation not as excited about Obama as everybody makes it out to be.

Comment by ` | 2008-09-12 01:22:00

These people have already served their country more than te majority of Americans. They’re hardly disinterested in government.

Comment by PhxNickD | 2008-09-12 01:41:01

I remember seeing all the Kerry bumper stickers in Phoenix in 2004. After I got done voting I went to Starbucks and everyone was talking about Kerry and I thought this was good. We all know how that turned out. Now, I see a lot of BHO bumper stickers here and just think back to 2004 and laugh about how naive I was back then.

Nancy, don’t worry about your hands not functioning properly. ACORN will not only register you to vote, they will vote for you, as well. Of course, they may not vote your ballot for the candidate that you want, but, hey, you voted, didn’t you?

When I was a kid in the ’60s, Democrats, at least out on the coast, used to be the masters of election fixing. It seems that at least some of them want to regain that distinction.

It’s hard to face but we have had a dysfunctional Democratic Party for a long time. The fact that they could elect Bill…good as he is…was a bloody miracle. It’s amazing that they didn’t sabotage that election too. I have been supporting a party just too stupid and self destructive. If they somehow manage to steal (and I don’t hold that they’ll be competent in that either) this election, then God help us with their trying to administer.

They’re the gang that couldn’t shoot straight.

Comment by Clinton Fan | 2008-09-12 01:35:24

You’d think the VA would assign collateral duty Voting Officers at each of their facilities, and perhaps compensate them in some fashion for taking on the additional responsibilities.

The military does it that way–no extra money, but someone contacts every person in the unit, tells them how to register, and how to request an absentee ballot.

It really isn’t rocket science.

Did anyone hear Obama talking about increasing the size of the military tonight during the “debate”?

With the number of volunteers joining the military significantly down, is Obama planning to bring back the draft in order to increase the size of the military?

I believe Obama even said the ROTC should be back on campuses.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-09-12 07:16:44

A draft? Of course not…at least not the way you think of it. But on second thought, ROTC…how else can Soetoro/Obama fund all those “training camps” to teach our youth the “right way” to conduct a purge of opposition. And it isn’t exactly a new idea…hasn’t it been done before?

Comment by Kal | 2008-09-12 08:41:36

Remember the Rangel platform item about reinstating the draft? It was something to the effect of
‘bring back the draft to make it harder for congress to vote to go to war/president to unilaterally start one.’ I don’t know if it got adopted at the crooked platform committee meetings, but it sure sounded to me like somebody in the upper echelons of the DNC wants to go back to involuntary conscription in the service of this great democracy.

Bush should issue and Executive Order barring this activity.

Barring that, VA Med Ctr directors should make sure there is an “unaffiliated” G.O.P. group there to help register votes too.

ACORN would have a sh!t fit if that happened!

Stupid or Malicious?
The Washington Post distorts Palin on page one.
by William Kristol
09/12/2008 12:00:00 AM

http://weeklystandard.com/Content/Public/Articles/000/000/015/548bfqty.asp

Here are the headline and the first two paragraphs from an article posted online that apparently will be on the front page of Friday’s Washington Post:

“Palin Links Iraq to 9/11, A View Discarded by Bush”
By Anne E. Kornblut
Washington Post Staff Writer
Friday, September 12, 2008; A01

FORT WAINWRIGHT, Alaska, Sept. 11 — Gov. Sarah Palin linked the war in Iraq with the Sept. 11 terrorist attacks, telling an Iraq-bound brigade of soldiers that included her son that they would “defend the innocent from the enemies who planned and carried out and rejoiced in the death of thousands of Americans.”

The idea that Iraq shared responsibility with al-Qaeda for the attacks on the World Trade Center and the Pentagon, once promoted by Bush administration officials, has since been rejected even by the president himself. On any other day, Palin’s statement would almost certainly have drawn a sharp rebuke from Democrats, but both parties had declared a halt to partisan activities to mark Thursday’s anniversary.”

Kornblut’s interpretation of what Palin said is either stupid or malicious. Palin is evidently saying that American soldiers are going to Iraq to defend innocent Iraqis from al Qaeda in Iraq, a group that is related to al Qaeda, which did plan and carry out the Sept. 11 attacks. It makes no sense for Kornblut to claim that Palin is arguing here that Saddam Hussein’s regime carried out 9/11–obviously Palin isn’t saying that our soldiers are now going over to Iraq to fight Saddam’s regime. Palin isn’t linking Saddam to 9/11.

People can debate how intimate that connection is, and how much of the fight in Iraq is now against al Qaeda in Iraq–but it’s simply the case that Palin is not saying what Kornblut says she is, and that the Washington Post is, right now, leading its paper with a clear distortion of what Palin said.

Angles vs. Straight. Important article Nancy thanks. Vigilance is required in battle. The difference between McCain/Palin and Obama/Biden is the same as the difference between a ruler and a protractor. One can only be straight, the other can draw infinite nuances. Palin and McCain showed yesterday how straight talks answers the question, Obama showed yesterday that any question can have 20 thousand answers. That may be good in academia, and Obama likes to be seen as a professor, but for president, what’s good is a simple answer. Oblahblah is always looking for an angle from where to cheat, deceive and bamboozle the community. He should be called a community reorganizer. With Obama is always how to make the community serve him.

anyone voting GOP after the last 8 years needs their “brain” examined.

For a party that claims to favor responsibility, you sure like to avoid it when you screw up.

you talk real tough, but then you cry cuz you’re scared of people with clipboards asking if you’d like to vote or because someone used a metaphor about lipstick and pigs that your own candidate uses on a regular basis.

meanwhile, you cower under your beds, so afraid of raghead terrorists that you are willing to gut the Constitution.

It’s never your fault though, even though you controlled the congress for years and the white house for the last eight.

Nope, it’s always the media’s fault, or the liberals’, or the blacks’, anybody but the people in power and the idiots that voted for them despite their corruption, incompetence, and mendacity.

the real people in this country got your number now though, and even the media is realizing that mr “straight talk” is a lying sack of shit.

He left his honor in the trash when he decided to play with you right-wing nutjobs and say anything to get elected.

Now he is losing it, starting to act more and more like the doddering elderly man with a fading intellect he is,…

and the last thing we need right now is a reagan-type with pre-alzheimers backed up by some second-rate, right-wing kook from Alaska who can’t define the “bush doctrine” and a white house full of nutty neo-cons running their own agendas

The trolls have once again reminded me why I will never vote for Obama. To mock a 100% disabled vet crosses way over the line of common decency; calling a Navy vet a “squid” definitely not in jest, now that’s a sign of maturity. I didn’t realize that Obama is on the Senate Veteran Affairs Committee; I’ll bet those vets who have to endure the Chicago VA Hospital are just so grateful to have a champion like him on the Committee. Anybody think maybe the Dems strongly hinted that if the VA Director didn’t go along with their sick little plan, he might just find his funding caught in a “do loop”.

I wonder if who Obama is really targeting with this plan are those vets you see aimlessly wandering the VA hospital halls who have nowhere else to go or who have mental problems, you know the ones who are ripe for the picking by unscrupulous Obamabots. It makes me sick and furious at the same time; these bastards are nothing more than the lowest form of parasite.

Obama didn’t join the armed forces not because there was no war going on at the time, but because he is a COWARD. Also because he did not to want to belong to any group of which he wasn’t the top dog. He needs to manipulate, and he couldn’t do that as a recruit.
He wanted to be in charge - ergo, he decided he would BE the Top Dog by stealing the election.

One thing we can do is to serve as an Election Day worker at our polling places. Contact your local Board of Election for more information. There may be a deadline for this year’s election and you may need to take a course or pass a test to qualify so it’s important to act quickly. We can all do our part in ensuring that this election is conducted legally.
