Michelle Obama’s Priorities

michelleobamaabsent

“Cindy McCain, John McCain and Barack Obama pay their respects” is the caption of this Maisel/News photograph reproduced in an article that refers to the Presidential candidates’ visit to Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan on 11 SEPT 2008 as “an extraordinary show of unity 54 days from the election.”

Notice Michelle Obama was conspicuously absent from this event. Michelle Obama is not one to engage in “extraordinary shows of unity,” I guess. Besides, Michelle has priorities. But those priorities are not those related by the Chicago Tribune’s “The Swamp.” I quote:

Michelle Obama, the Democratic nominee’s wife, remained at home in Chicago, where her two daughters are going through the first week of school.

No, her priorities entail campaigning for her husband at religious conferences in Cincinnati, Ohio. While the McCains are now famously subscribing to the dictum “country first,” Michelle Obama continues to place her husband’s political ambitions above all else. The Toledo Blade explains the situation quite well in an article published on 11 SEPT 2008. I quote:

CINCINNATI - “I come here today as a Christian,” Michelle Obama said yesterday to a standing ovation at a convention of mostly black Baptists. She appealed not only for their prayers but for their votes for her husband.

“This election is going to change the world,” she said. “This election will determine the course of an entire generation. Just think about that.

“I know that no one here wants to look back and think, ‘Wouldn’t that have been great?’” she said. “I don’t want to think about what might have been. I want to look back and think, ‘We did it. We really did it, and we did it together.”’

michelle obama cincinnati

The nonprofit National Baptist Convention USA Inc. is not permitted to endorse a candidate, but there was no doubt that the crowd of about 4,700 watching her speech in the convention center ballroom and in an overflow room receiving a video feed was firmly behind Sen. Barack Obama.

While spectators viewed Cindy McCain, John McCain and Barack Obama commemorating the lives lost during the tragic day that was September 11, 2001, on their television screens, the eyes of readers of the printed media in Ohio scanned a report on Michelle Obama’s crass and debased identity politics at a largely African-American religious conference in Cincinnati, Ohio. Did the aspiring First Lady leave the children at home, or did she decide that they can endure that particular day of their first week of school without her?

The precedence of blurring the distinction between Church and State in the name of racial and religious divisiveness and political power over one’s love of country is the lesson admirers of Michelle Obama learned on 11 SEPT 2008. But then again, admirers of Michelle Obama seem to believe it is perfectly acceptable for an aspiring First Lady to drag the children who ostensibly kept her from visiting Ground Zero into a God Damn America church wherein the following is the prevailing interpretation of September 11, 2001:

I am sure Obama partisans are not batting their eyes. They certainly did not when Michelle Obama proclaimed her lack of love of country twice when campaigning for her husband in Wisconsin.

And they certainly did not blink when the New Yorker revealed that Michelle Obama invoked Reverend Wright’s name in order to build ties of solidarity with African-American Christians in South Carolina before that state’s racially and religiously divisive primary. I quote:

Earlier on the day that Obama visited the nursery school, she addressed a congregation at the Pee Dee Union Baptist Church, in Cheraw, a hamlet of about six thousand known as “The Prettiest Town in Dixie.” The church’s makeshift gravel parking lot, next to the Pee Dee Ice and Fuel Company and bounded by train tracks, was full. After an invocation by the Reverend Jerry Corbett and an introduction by the mayor of Cheraw, Obama came to the pulpit. “You all got up bright and early just for me?” she asked the mostly elderly, almost all-black crowd. “Yes!” they roared. Obama continued, “On behalf of my church home and my pastor, Reverend Wright, I bring greetings.”

She was a Reverend Wright, “God Damn America” Christian in January, a “Christian” on 10 SEPT 2008 in Cincinnati, Ohio, and a liar when questioned by the media on 11 SEPT 2008 about her absence from the ceremonies that took place at Ground Zero in Lower Manhattan. Michelle Obama has priorities, but these priorities will not appeal to the grand majority of honest Americans who love their country in times good and bad. No wonder why her husband’s lead is eroding: when voters are asked to compare Cindy McCain and Michelle Obama, they see a Republican who always puts her “country first” and a mendacious Democrat whose patriotism is questionable. To these voters it is a question of Michelle Obama’s utterly warped priorities on a day when all aspiring public figures should at least try to feign sentiments of unity in the name of one’s unassailable love of country.

I wondered where she was - this information must get out to voters….somehow.

It’s hard to believe that all 8 of them didn’t stop their campaigning for just this one day.

So disrespectful.

She is the Poster Child for the ANTI-American agenda imo. (making a broad stroke statement for sure)

Seriously though, I noticed her not attending and thought it was the most inappropriate thing anyone could do

then I paused

realized this was MICHELLE and said

“DOH!” (I could have had a V-8)

McCains: “Country First”
Obamas: “ME First”

Barky is Billy’s bitch. Billy’s set him up in every single job and school at least since 1981. Every last one. This 19 month snow job gets to be trying on the Barkster. When you’re shooting for a Maoist revolution and destruction of America and 9-11 fitted right into that, it’d be kind of hard not to dance and whistle in the crater. That construction worker saw right through Barky, thus the critical evasion maneuvers he took around the hardhat.

Are you in the mood for a terrorspawn in the White House?

Ayers has set Obama up in every single school and job since Occidental. Woods, Annenberg, Sibley, Columbia, Harvard. He’s a very wealthy permanently mentally prepubescent spoiled rotten big-time radical-wannabe, and he needed a proper front-guy, you know who.

Ayers pwnd Obama. A vote for Obama is just a vote to put Ayers in power. He looks placid to the unknowing, but even last week he said he did not do enough to destroy America during his bombing days.

The Barky as Ayer’s Bitch direction is, I believe, where this is all really going. I must admit I wondered how Obama had orchestrated himself sitting on so many boards, getting such prestigious jobs, with zero experience (which is why he thinks that’s not a prerequisite for President), and with such mediocre high school grades getting into prestigious universities:

Have you noticed that at Obama’s rallies the mantra bleated out by the sheeples is:”O-bam-a”
while at McCain’s rallies it’s:”U-S-A”?

I loved to hear the people of America the beautiful, chanting USA, roaring with patriotism when Senator McCain speak. At the 9/11 I also noticed that Michelle Obama was absent and I was thinking that she must hate America a lot to the point that she rather be somewhere else, but that was perfect because it showed Senator Mccain and his wife Cindy very Presidential. Mrs. McCain looked the part of First Lady very well. Where is the media to tell the truth about where Michelle Obama was? Let the people know where Michelle was.

by ‘all eight’, i think you are including the vp candidates as well, and that is fair.

as for sarah palin and her husband, they were busy sending their oldest son - along with four thousand others - off to iraq. that’s what governors do… we can excuse their absence.

obviously, it seems michelle obama had some illegal campaigning to do…

i agree that the deceptive lies should be exposed - the media won’t do it!

Sarah is nothing if NOT CLASSY

how she manages to do that and stay all Annie Oakley is beyond me and worth admiration!!

“and also VERY good move on WHOM EVER’s part to NOT TELEVISE her event with her son’s unit deploying.”

I heard on one of the networks that the base wasn’t going to permit any members of the press to be present, but then changed it’s mind.

We know it’s military policy not to permit candidates to use their bases for campaigning, no stump speeches permitted, they don’t want service people to be pawns tossed about in a campaign.

According to the Anchorage Daily News:

http://www.adn.com/sarah-palin/story/523703.html

“Palin never mentioned her son by name at the ceremony. She spoke in her capacity as governor, as she has at similar events. Fort Wainwright officials said they invited her to speak months ago, before Republican presidential candidate John McCain selected her to be his running mate.

But everything is different now. Palin’s remarks attracted intense international interest.

The military hesitated to allow reporters to attend the event, then relented but with unusually tight controls including assigning each member of the media with their own soldier escort.

Normally, it’s just the Fairbanks press who cover the Fort Wainwright ceremonies. But 55 media members registered for this one, including representatives of all of the major television networks, Entertainment Tonight, Japanese television, The New York Times, the Washington Post, the Irish Times and Gentleman’s Quarterly.

The media were kept off to the side, while the brigade family members sat in bleachers, some wrapped in blankets among the chill and fall colors of Interior Alaska’s rolling hills. They applauded their Iraq-bound soldiers as generals talked about sacrifices and accomplishments of Fort Wainwright’s “Arctic Wolves.”

Governor Palin and the McCain campaign had no control over whether the event was televised. The military at first had no plans of letting the press in and then relented with conditions.

Joe and Jill Biden were in the audience during the service forum at Columbia U. (BO’s alleged alma mater for Jr/Sr yr undergrad.) evening of 9/11.

I’m sure I’m in the majority when I say Mac was very presidential in that hostile ultralib. environment. And then he even went on The View the next morning. Clearly, the man is fearless. I really admire that.

Michelle Obama tapes cooking show with Paula Deen

Associated Press - September 12, 2008 10:54 AM ET

SAVANNAH, Ga. (AP) - Michelle Obama is getting some TV time with the Food Network’s first lady of Southern cooking.

The wife of Democrat Barack Obama recently joined Savannah’s Paula Deen in the kitchen to tape an episode of Deen’s show “Paula’s Party.” Deen publicist Nancy Assuncao (ah-SOON-see-oh) said Friday the two women cooked fried shrimp and french fries and swapped stories about their families’ favorite meals.

Assuncao said Michelle Obama told Deen her husband’s not into fancy foods and his favorite dish at home is chili. Deen offered to cook for them at the White House if Obama is elected president.

What Deen isn’t offering is a political endorsement. Assuncao said Deen doesn’t discuss her personal politics.

She said the celebrity cook also has invited Republican John McCain’s wife, Cindy, and his running mate, Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, to appear on her show.

That came out yesterday. I would love to know the exact taping day.

Comment by Bitter Knitter | 2008-09-13 11:26:50

Never mind. At least one source said the taping occurred several weeks ago, but I would like to verify.

Just a thought about Michele. Remember when she replied to an ABC interview that she would “have to think long and hard about whether she could support Hillary Clinton if she won the primary” instead of 0bama? Why was it ok for Michelle to decide not to support Hillary, but it is not ok for us not to support 0bama? I have thought long and hard, and I am voting for McCain/Palin.

Comment by OBSP | 2008-09-13 12:48:08

All this loaded nuance double entendre messaging goes on in the media…Obama uses that all the time so he can say and do shocking things as long as there was plausible deniability and a retreat factor, he’s good to be “audacious” and rude and snarky.

There is a double standard in this country that is loud and clear.

It’s acceptable for some in this country to be racist. It’s okay for the left to be sexist, make fun of older people, joke about an individual’s disability, question the value of innocent babies, and condemn freedom of choices.

But, question the job responsibilities of a community organizer and you are using a secret code illustrating you are a racist.

And, the MSM and their reporters sponsor this belief.

Comment by richasis | 2008-09-14 06:04:49

it’s been like this for at least thirty years… i believe it’s part of the grander design to culturally weaken one racial group while empowering the other within a socialist mindset that ultimately prevails upon the people as a whole.

and this generation is just the beginning of its fruition. just a thought…

As a New Yorker this was on home turf but everyone else’s too. Extremely clumsy, arrogant and hostile.

She’s just living on those fat campaign funds, I guess. After all, they probably wouldn’t have been able to buy their chicago mansion without the help of their crooked friend, Rezko. this beats all, the obama camp have got to be phenomenally stupid. First they called palin a pig in lipstick. Now even if that was a slip of the tongue everyone does that, but it wasn’t it was a deliberate written script. So if obama is mr I was the first black president of the law review, how come he couldn’t come up with an analogy better than something with lipstick when he knew palin had made a joke about lipstick. then he teases John McCain not being able to type or use a computer, when the man has the inability to lift his arms, and finally after agreeing to stop campaigning on 9/11 his wife campaigns for him in ohio. God! what a stupid group of people. Not one ounce of common sense in the the whole bunch, this man and his wife can not get into the white house. Can anyone say George W. Bush. this has got to be the stupidest bunch of people ive met in my life. what did they know now, there could be public back lash? heck someone has to ask the question, does obama really wanna win? This proves how dangerous these people are, not because they are evil, but because they are really stupid. this is Politics comes from the same root as Polite so what in the heck does obama and michelle have a hard time figuring out, that just being freaking considerate, is a part of politics. My god. I can’ t believe this I’m black so i’m a democrat from conception, but I can not stomach the people in this party right now. if democrats don’t get a clue and fast this man is going to wipe them out. this is party that has been around for almost the beginning of this country, Jefferson and Jackson were Democratic- republicans the name was shortened. I don’t idealize any party. yes Republican freed the slaves, but LBJ signed the civil rights act. And if these fools we now have in our party leadership, keeps letting these to morons get away with poor judgment they are going to sink this country. What else could you expect of a woman who announced to the world that she wasn’t proud of her country until the Democratic party selected her husband to be a presidential nominee.

She told us with those words that she never shared our pride in our heroes, our policemen, our firemen and our private citizens who rescued others caught in that terrible terrorist attack on September 11, 2001. It was the worst of times and the best of humanity that came together that day; from the brave friend who stayed with his wheelchair bound co-worker who was waiting to be evacuated and perished with him to the 343 firemen and 37 police officers who died that day.

And Michelle Obama who had spent months chasing her husband’s political dreams across our country could not spare a few hours away from her in-school children to honor the victims and the heroes of that day 7 years ago. Who was watching them while she campaigned? Couldn’t she have hired that babysitter? After all, it wasn’t as if one of them was going off to war.

Still, there is some freedom of speech available on the internet and some talk shows. That’s why they must be quashed:
(from Wikipedia)

* John Gizzi, the Political Editor of Human Events, wrote that House Speaker Nancy Pelosi told reporters that the Democratic caucus was interested in bringing back the Fairness Doctrine.[12]

* Senator Richard Durbin has said “It’s time to reinstitute the Fairness Doctrine.”[13]

* Senator John Kerry has said, “Well, I think the Fairness Doctrine ought to be there…”[14]

If you think the Obamacrats have taken control now, wait until they further mess with the only free speech which has aired the truth. Wait until Nancy Pelosi, Keith Olbermann and Alan Colmes determine where lines are drawn.

Everyone knows where Rush, Hannity and O’Reilly are on the issues but they don’t present themselves as mere journalists to fool people either. Watch this legislation–the Obamacrats are on a rampage.

I do not have a problem with the fairness doctrine returning if it is what it was: differing points of view must have equal time on news media. I thought that doctrine served us well and it does not apply to the people who are openly committed one side or another. I also think that doctrine is valuable to ever maybe having a viable third or fourth party. I am absolutely opposed to Obama.

BTW: Where’s Michelle has been all over the blogs so I think this is a rather large story. Why would she take that political risk when black voters are like 95% voting Obama anyway? Are they starting to see some slippage of the AA vote?

The Fairness Doctrine would only affect Radio Talk shows(public air waves) It would not affect televised MSM, so what that means is that the only avenue for conservative ideas and conversation would be silenced.Unlike television, talk radio is a forum for ordinary citizens(both conservative and liberal) to openly debate the issues. This is why Pelosi and company want it shut down(except NPR,of course, which slants to left, funded by tax payers)

Alan Colmes,to his credit, does not support the (un)Fairness Doctrine, but naively believes that the Dems won’t go for it

Once someone commits in public to be totally stupid, they rarely even back off and apologize. Americans are very forgiving when someone does, but the media is young, selfish and stupid.

They are really not seasoned journalists with a sense of duty to the power of the Fourth Estate. They are shallow, ratings mongers creating entertainment in return for advertising dollars.

Should we really even be labeling them “media” if by that term we still mean professional Fourth Estate journalists?

They are too busy “vetting” Sarah Palin to EVER care about vetting Obama and Michelle. We know more about Sarah Palin in 1 week than we do Obama and his wife in a year. When is someone in the media going to “vet” Obama?

Comment by Dawnelle Leona Del Puma | 2008-09-13 10:58:35

now THAT is also why I’m voting for McCain/Palin

the oblivious(dee, dee, dee) hypocrisy of the vetting 4 Obama versus Palin via ALL MEDIA!!!

BEYOND EMBARRASSING (these are NOT my people)

deport them NOW! ;-) puhlease!

I don’t think those kids go to school anymore. Who believed that story. They had them in Iowa for Christmas, all during Dec.

I know the Chcago Tribune is in the tank for Obama but did they really think they could tell this LIE without being called out? That’s the thing about this new internet, info is passed in the blink of the eye. I do hope the Trib prints a retraction.

Comment by Alibe4Hillary | 2008-09-13 11:36:46

If it were true about her staying behind because the kids had school, why didn’t they bring the children to the memorial service. What a great thing for them to see. But of course staying home for the kids was pure BS and a (pretend) dig at Sarah Palin. Those 0bama’s are pos.

Good point. After all, Obama wanted the Devner stadium so families and the public well beyond the DNC delegates could witness his “moment in history”.

Find one theme Barky, and stick to it. Your constant changing your stories to fit your own cynical needs is making my head spin.

Barf, Barky, you make me barf.

Considering what Rev. Wright preached the Sunday after 9/11, it’s not really surprising that Michelle avoided the 9/11 ceremony. Who doubts that she shared Wright’s view on America deserving to be hit? Standing at Ground Zero is a profoundly moving experience; maybe she didn’t want to risk it.

Exactly. Michelle is as much a hypocrit as Obama and the Obamacrats. Say one thing and do the opposite.
Michelle hates white folks.

Sounds fair. A lot of white folks hate Michelle.

They may be cynical but they are hypocrites. They are race and gender baiting Marxists intent on subverting the United States.

NYC was probably just not festive enough for her…

I cringe at the thought of Michelle Obama being first lady of our country. She and her husband have to be the two most self-serving people in America. Can you stop campaigning just one day to show some respect to the heros of Sept 11 and their families? BO and MO really disgust me.

Comment by Dan | 2008-09-13 11:36:18

Wait until the “whitey tape” comes out. I suspect you’ll have LOTS of company in that regard!

I assumed that her staying home for her kids was a hit at Gov. Palin.

I admit, I also assumed it was true!

Comment by Tuppence 411 | 2008-09-13 11:21:11

It also bugs me to no end when on the trail MEchelle always makes the point the kids are “with her mother”. Like somehow the rest of us who don’t have the blessing of a mother still alive, or in good health, or close by for childcare, or not still working themselves…. are inferior to her.

If 9/11 day didn’t tell you all you needed to know about Obambi and his unpatriotic wife then you must be blind! Throwing the flower into the pool, dissing the fireman on the receiving line, watching McCain from the corner of his eye, absence of Michelle from NYC ceremony while she was staying home for the children’s first days of school(from Ohio). I’ll say this they are a perfect match for each other. When Barky he loses and he will lose because of behavior like this, I wonder how long it will take for Michelle to throw the annointed one under the bus and ask for a divorce.

When MSNBC was rebroadcasting 9/11, I was listening to the coverage when Katie Couric got to the report of Palestinians dancing in the streets over the news. Which I think was later dismissed as incorrect reporting with old photos as well.

Anyway, this was the first year that I thought.

No….that is what the Obamas, Ayers and Dohrn were doing. Dancing in thei
