TREASON!

This is Treason!

WHILE Barack Obama has publicly campaigned for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq — in secret private discussions, Obama has tried to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

– “OBAMA TRIED TO STALL GIS’ IRAQ WITHDRAWAL,” NY Post, September 15, 2008

By asking Iraqi leaders to delay a withdrawal plan, Barack Obama hopes to make the GOP look bad so that he can get elected.

Never mind the consequences. Kill the kids, but get me my throne.

::::::::::::::::::

Here’s how Obama, the national security neophyte with no military or foreign policy experience, tried to play the big boys’ game:

First you tell them on the phone: Don’t worry. I’m just as good as McCain.

On June 18, 2008 the Washington post published an editorial titled:

Mr. Zebari’s Message
Iraq’s foreign minister has a chat with Barack Obama.

SEN. BARACK OBAMA told Iraq’s foreign minister this week that he plans to visit the country between now and the presidential election. We think that’s a good thing.. because it will give Mr. Obama an opportunity to refresh his badly outdated plan for Iraq. To do that, the Democrat needs to listen more to dedicated Iraqi leaders like Hoshyar Zebari, the foreign minister..

Mr. Obama laid out his current strategy for Iraq in November 2006, shortly before announcing his candidacy for president. .. Nineteen months later, the situation in Iraq has changed dramatically, with violence down 75 percent from its peak and the Iraqi government and army in control of most of the country. But Mr. Obama has not altered his position: He still proposes withdrawing most U.S. troops according to a fixed timetable..

Earlier, in June, Obama called Zebari:

Mr. Zebari said he told Mr. Obama that “Iraq is not an island.” In other words, an American withdrawal that destabilized the country would also roil the region around it and embolden U.S. adversaries such as al-Qaeda and Iran. “We have a deadly enemy,” Mr. Zebari said. “When he sees that you commit yourself to a certain timetable, he will use this to increase pressure and attacks, to make it look as though he is forcing you out. We have many actors who would love to take advantage of that opportunity.” Mr. Zebari says he believes U.S. forces can and should be drawn down. His point is that reductions should be made gradually, as the Iraqi army becomes stronger.

The foreign minister said “my message” to Mr. Obama “was very clear. . . . Really, we are making progress. I hope any actions you will take will not endanger this progress.” He said he was reassured by the candidate’s response, which caused him to think that Mr. Obama might not differ all that much from Mr. McCain. Mr. Zebari said that in addition to promising a visit, Mr. Obama said that “if there would be a Democratic administration, it will not take any irresponsible, reckless, sudden decisions or action to endanger your gains, your achievements, your stability or security. Whatever decision he will reach will be made through close consultation with the Iraqi government and U.S. military commanders in the field.” Certainly, it makes sense to consult with those who, like Mr. Zebari, have put their lives on the line for an Iraq that would be a democratic U.S. ally. Mr. Obama ought to listen carefully to what they are saying.

Then, face to face and behind closed doors, you propose a totally different track.

Today, September 15, 2008, Amir Taheri writes in the New York Post

WHILE campaigning in public for a speedy withdrawal of US troops from Iraq, Sen. Barack Obama has tried in private to persuade Iraqi leaders to delay an agreement on a draw-down of the American military presence.

According to Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari, Obama made his demand for delay a key theme of his discussions with Iraqi leaders in Baghdad in July.

“He asked why we were not prepared to delay an agreement until after the US elections and the formation of a new administration in Washington,” Zebari said in an interview.

..

“However, as an Iraqi, I prefer to have a security agreement that regulates the activities of foreign troops, rather than keeping the matter open.” Zebari says.

I am going to repeat one line above. “delay an agreement until after the US elections..”

Though it may be coached with the argument that a weak Bush administration should not be negotiating anything, it is not realistic to just shut down the country down until Obama becomes king. Yes, congress should have a say, but where have Peolsi and Reid been on that front? Perhaps they believe it is better to loose life and limb and destroy more lives in the U.S. and Iraq than to lose an election.

Other prominent Iraqi leaders, such as Vice President Adel Abdul-Mahdi and Kurdish regional President Massoud Barzani, believe that Sen. John McCain would show “a more realistic approach to Iraqi issues.”

Obama has given Iraqis the impression that he doesn’t want Iraq to appear anything like a success, let alone a victory, for America.

Enough said. I remember the Democrats, working just with rumors that G.H.W. Bush met with Iranian leaders in Paris during the 1980 elections in order to work an agreement to keep the hostages until after the new administration takes office, screaming from the rooftops: TREASON!

But this is not a rumor. This is a quote from Iraqi Foreign Minister Hoshyar Zebari. This happened.

Obama asked him to not proceed with a withdrawal plan, so that the GOP will look bad and that he can get elected.

Kill the kids and give me my throne.

TREASON!

I really hope there is a video or a voice taping of the incident. I wouldn’t put it past the Iraq government to record all conversations.

Talk about putting the pressure on someone.

Forget about the false allegations of Troopergate this is Iraqigate. I hope the general can support these alligations.

Well, of course it’s GHW Bush all over again. Obama has SAID that he would govern like Bush 1 and Reagan.

Oh, and Easton….rumors, my foot.

The #1 reason they were so eager to install Gee Dumbya in 2000 was that was the year his presidential records were to become public. Of course Bushie didn’t do so and then resealed them.

Does anyone know this is against the law, its called Logan’s act… she it on my blog, he is guilty!!

Comment by IronMan | 2008-09-15 12:01:41

Congress established the Logan Act in 1799 making it a felony to interfere with the relations of the United States and foreign governments.

LOGAN ACT

Any citizen of the United States, wherever he may be, who, without authority of the United States, directly or indirectly commences or carries on any correspondence or intercourse with any foreign government or any officer or agent thereof, with intent to influence the measures or conduct of any foreign government or of any officer or agent thereof, in relation to any disputes or controversies with the United States, or to defeat the measures of the United States, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than three years, or both.

This section shall not abridge the right of a citizen to apply himself, or his agent, to any foreign government, or the agents thereof, for redress of any injury which he may have sustained from such government or any of its agents or subjects.

IronMan–

The interference of a US Senator (without proper government authorization) in the foreign affairs of another nation appears to be treasonous under the Logan Act (and another one I’m looking for that is more recent).

Add to the recent “acting as if he were already president” in Iraq and giving ultimatums to their leader to the detriment of the US foreign policy to his actions in Kenya where he was boots on the ground and money in the pot to support his erstwhile “cousin” of Luo descent (like himself, Raila Odinga, in an attempt to overthrow (first through election then through near civil war) the Kikuyu President of that country who is a staunch US ally (see NY Sun Oct. 11, 2008 “The Kenya Connection”) is again treasonous under the language of the law listed above.

Someone have Sarah Palin research Obama/Odinga/Kenya. She has the “balls” to address this though no one else in the R party seems to do so.

Even GWB never palled with people who were murderous terrorists. It isn’t just Ayers–the list is at least 20 long of terrorists and convicted criminals who know, are closely affiliated with and support Obama’s rise.

Comment by beebop | 2008-09-15 11:22:25

I want to make sure that I understand this:

The man who claims superior judgment in 2002 when he gave a SPEECH opposing the war is now speaking out AGAINST BRINGING IT TO A SPEEDY CLOSE … is that right? He now wants it to continue in order to make the Republican party look BAD? Is that Hope and Change?

I went over to look at the FOX report on this. No one has left a comment. Seems to me we should all try to leave comments on this.

FOX does respond when it gets input from its viewers.

Comment by pasmalltowngirl | 2008-09-15 13:30:58

I left 2 comments, so apparently Fox isn’t letting anyone comment on this.

Comment by bemused | 2008-09-15 13:33:46

Actually, this usually means they are getting a lot and will moderate them (according to who knows what criteria). Expect a big pile in several hours, maybe as late as the evening.

Comment by marcy harris | 2008-10-11 15:50:29

Fox, without explanation, refuses to publish my comments lately. I never use profanity and always try (as I did in the comment made previously) try to give at least one primary source that anyone to which one can refer to corroborate what I say.

Anyone know how to get back on the good side of these folks.

Everytime you watch NBC, MSNBC, CNN etc you are putting money into Obama’s campaign.

They used to say that about FOX back when I was a DEM

had I done that I would have NEVER started realizing that Hannity could be fair & O’Reilly actually can be funny even though he’s obviously unbalanced! hehe!

I don’t stay at msnbo or cnn LONG trust me but I realize now I need to hear all sides in order to be better able to debate their issues. No matter how insane they sometimes seem. (that for me goes for BOTH parties)

Sarah’s rally was wonderful btw if you caught it.

you can get most of the news by subscribing to different youtube channels like paul villareal, etc.
when you watch CNN and MSNBC on youtube you’re increasing their Nielsen ratings.
we boycotted them and that’s how we got rid of Olberman and Matthews.

The media bashed Kerry in 2004 for implying he’d spoken with foreign leaders and they preferred HIM over Bush.
In 2008, the media including C-Span, HYPED Obama’s World Tour and meetings with foreign leaders.
As Kerry said this year - WE MUST ELECT A BLACK MAN (to give the U.S. more influence over Muslim terrorists.)
{{rolls eyes}}

Comment by Zeke | 2008-09-15 19:38:14

Kerry DID meet with foreign leaders. He met with North Vietnamese in Europe.
Whatever the Swiftboaters did to Kerry doesn’t matter a damn to me. That sonofabitch denigrated everyone who served during that period by lying UNDER OATH TO CONGRESS about war crimes he “allegedly” witnessed.
He claimed that gang rape was commonplace and that soldiers routinely murdered civilians. He lied. He can fuck himself. He supports Obama and hasn’t changed his radical left ideals one bit since.
Again, fuck him…

The Logan Act (18 U.S.C.A. § 953 [1948]) is a single federal statute making it a crime for a citizen to confer with foreign governments against the interests of the United States. Specifically, it prohibits citizens from negotiating with other nations on behalf of the United States without authorization.

http://law.jrank.org/pages/8357/Logan-Act.html

This is very serious.

Comment by jbjd | 2008-09-15 11:03:34

Every time BO says something contrary to America’s best interest, people raise the specter, he is violating the Logan Act. But absent additional incriminating information, I would imagine that merely expressing an opinion seemingly at odds with the best interest of the country, to a foreign agent does not constitute the violation envisioned by the Act. On the other hand, if the Iraqi government, through its foreign minister, Mr. Zabari, does more than reveal the sentiments of Mr. Obama regarding U.S. troop withdrawal, then you might have actionable conduct. That is, if you can produce evidence indicating BO actually requested that the Iraqis refrain from holding bona fide discussions with President Bush and other duly authorized officials concerning troop withdrawals; AND that he indicated his certain occupation of the White House in January 2009, thus representing himself to them as having authority to negotiate on American’s behalf, then, you should contact the U.S. Attorney and have him arrested.

Comment by Zelda Crunch | 2008-09-15 11:04:39

But in all the years since 1799 no one’s been prosecuted with it.

I can think of two people who seriously need to be prosecuted under this law and made examples.

Unfortunately, due to Carter’s membership in the ex-Presidents club, neither Clinton nor Bush had the peaches to bring him up on charges.

I doubt anything will be done about Obama. I hope I am wrong.

This NAFTA incident with the Canadians is important to the present brouhaha regarding withdrawing American troops from Iraq in that it tends to establish a pattern of conduct with BO. oh come on
that’s never been true
they just want more restrictions on hand guns

(some may want them all banned like some on the right want all abortions banned but NEITHER will ever be law because MOST Americans would RALLY against it)

Some day MOST Americans may come to some agreement on both. It’s as much a city life versus country life argument as well.

Someone like Sarah, I can COMPLETELY understand. Father a hunter, many siblings need to eat, living in Alaska, etc, makes total sense. (I saw the special on her it was very informative)

If Sarah was the way she is yet brought up in Manhattan I would think she was a radical! Same goes for her faith.

Her MOM left the Catholic Church and took the kids with them to AoG. (wonder why?) Just a thought but Sarah is a gorgeous brunette with brown eyes, yet her older sister and younger sister both are blondes with blue eyes? Why?

Did someone need some forgiving? AoG are great for that! NO disrespect. I was introduced to AoG as a kid (before I started “sinning” lol) so I have Sarah’s view of it (I feel)

It is a kind religion. It is NOT radical and oppressive or degrading like BLK LIB THEOLOGY.

If I had to choose (and I do) I choose the religion that I KNOW IS LOVING AND KIND and I choose a Gov over a Sen for VP and I choose a War Hero PoW over a Chicago Senator with a weak voting record and lots of heinous hater friends!

I have watched Sarah’s whole witness her accomplishments and half of the town she grew up in and half of her friends and “enemies” if you can call them that…. even the ones that don’t LIKE her really respect her to some degree

I’ve heard NO ONE WITNESS BARRY’s LIFE???

I’ve heard witness to John’s life
even Biden

who stands up for Barry the adolescent
Barry the teen ager?
Barry the young adult on the streets of S. Chicago?

who?

You want to be my President? Keep dreaming.

Obama’s pverty Bill which gives 845,000,000,000 to the UN also gives the UN the right to take our guns.

Did Obama try to scotch an Iraqi-US agreement on military forces?

Hypocrisy isn’t the issue here; it’s the interference of Obama in military and diplomatic affairs. Just on diplomacy, interfering with the United States in its diplomatic efforts is a Logan Act violation. Interfering with war policy treads on even more serious ground, especially since the primary motivation appears to be winning an election without regard to whether it damages our ability to fight the enemy or drives wedges between us and our ally, the elected, representative government in Baghdad.

Taheri has had some credibility problems in the past. He falsely accused the Iranian mullahcracy, who really need no help in villainy, of passing dress-code legislation that required religious minorities to wear color-coded clothes. That created a firestorm until reporters reviewed the legislation and found no reference to any kind of requirement for dress identification for Jews, Christians, or Zoroastrians. Taheri offered a weak defense of his story, which was not sourced on the record, and it passed into urban-legend status.

This looks different, if for no other reason than Taheri’s main source goes on the record. Hoshyar Zebari didn’t hide behind a “high-level source in Baghdad” tag for this story. Zebari’s testimony puts the onus on Obama to explain why he attempted to interfere with the Bush administration’s negotiations despite his having absolutely no authority to do so. If Obama wants to negotiate a defeat for America, he needs to wait until Americans elect him to the White House before betraying our allies and our troops in the field.

If this is true, and I can’t believe it even from Obama, then I’m going to be ill. It’s like I’m watching a repeat of Bush. Putting politics before human lives. I’m going to hurl. What evil did these things spawn from?

Many of us have been saying that that while Obama has been portraying himself one way, he is actually Bush 3. Look at his campaign advisors, his financial contributors and his key votes supporting Bush.

Obama is a globalist and doesn’t care about anyone in this country, with the exception of the AA community. He comes from the Chicago Political Machine and knows all the dirty tricks and will use them.

McCain is not Bush 3, it’s Obama. He has bamboozled the left.

How exactly is it that Oblahblah cares about the AA community? I still haven’t seen one way.

When the 2000 Census showed more Hispanics and Asians were moving into Chicago but the number of African
Americans were declining, Obama made this statement to the Chicago Defender newspaper:

“While everyone agrees that the Hispanic population has grown, they cannot expand by taking African-American seats.”

Obama does not care about the AA community. That is why he attended Trinity United, to gain some street cred. He was raised by his liberal, white grandparents in Hawaii. He has no ties at all to the AA community.

Does he really care about the AA community except for their votes. Look at the inner city housing in Chicago.
If that is how he cares about AAs then if he gets to be president
