Why Does John McCain Hate America So Much?

The contempt John McCain has shown for the people of this country by plucking the wildly unqualified Sarah Palin to sit a cancer-prone heartbeat from the presidency leaves only one conclusion. John McCain hates America.
Eight presidents — or nineteen percent of them —have died in office. This comes out to roughly one in five, and we’ve had eight in a row who survived, so we’re overdue. Add to that the actuarial tables and the early deaths of McCain’s father and grandfather (he’s already outlived them both) and it’s clear that President Palin is far from a remote possibility.
And yet, the true significance and consequences of this grim prospect seem to be off limits for public dialogue. Our not-just-useless-but-actually-complicit mainstream media would rather spend a day repeating the mantra “lipstick on a pig” than urging the public to really contemplate what it would mean if this vindictive, intolerant woman — with her five-colleges-in-six-years education — were to become the most powerful human on the planet. It’s like it’s unfair to mention the inconvenient truth that Sarah Palin is an authoritarian religious zealot totally unsuited for the position John McCain has recklessly named her to — a truth so obvious that anyone with eyes and ears who’s not blinded or deafened by ideology can see and hear it.
But forget about the media. It’s up to our representatives to protect us from this harsh fate. Let’s not kid ourselves — there isn’t one respected member of Congress, in either party, who doesn’t know how grotesque this situation is. But, because of the nation’s bitter partisan divide, it’s the Republicans who have to speak up.
Hey, Thad Cochran. You said, “The thought of [McCain] being president sends a cold chill down my spine.” Does the thought of Palin being president warm you up any? Hey, Liddy Dole. This cannot be allowed to happen.
That John McCain is a shameless panderer who’ll do anything to get elected president has become increasingly obvious over the eight years he’s spent reversing every principled position he’d ever taken. That John McCain has renounced every shred of honor that ever attached to him is clear to anyone who bears witness to the parade of scummy lies he calls his advertising campaign — a campaign that no less a bottom feeder than Karl Rove said has gone “one step too far” by “attributing to Obama things that are, you know, beyond the 100-percent truth test.” That John McCain has cravenly sold his soul for a prize that he doesn’t even seem to want for any reason other than just to have it is undeniable to anyone who looks into his now-dead eyes. He’s a walking corpse.
John McCain likes to wrap himself in the flag and call himself a patriot, but foisting this dangerously inappropriate successor-in-waiting on the nation puts him at the opposite end of that spectrum. By disregarding the kind of risk his country will be at if this know-nothing reactionary ascends to the presidency, he reveals himself not as a patriot, but rather as a traitor. If John McCain dies in office, he should be posthumously tried for treason.
With this fuck-you to America, John McCain has proven himself to be — and I never thought I’d be able to say this about anyone — as despicable as George W. Bush.
One Question? How is it possible to type with your head up your ass?

» Discuss Article After running a brilliant and historic primary battle to defeat Hillary Clinton, the Obama campaign is now in disarray. Why?
Perhaps it’s because Barack Obama has never run a competitive race against a Republican. After all, Obama won his U.S. Senate seat in Illinois by running against Alan Keyes, a fire-and-brimstone, right-wing black carpetbagger from Maryland (or perhaps Mars) who had no real ties to Illinois.
Now, facing John McCain’s blistering ads, Obama seems unable to fight fire with fire. The Democratic rank and file are furious (while simultaneously denouncing McCain’s negativity).
Obama, they may be realizing, doesn’t know how to close the deal.
Nonetheless, the Obama campaign has vowed, once again, to take the gloves off and go after McCain hard, linking him to President Bush and highlighting the fact that the Arizona senator is out of touch.
One flaw with this supposed course correction is that it isn’t one. McCain-Bush-Economy has been Obama’s message for months now. Indeed, ABC News’ Jake Tapper wrote on his blog that this is actually the fourth time Team Obama has pledged to engage in a bracing round of fisticuffs.
To prove his newfound determination to go bare knuckle against McCain, Obama unveiled a new TV ad, to air in key states.
It begins with the date “1982,” a picture of a disco ball and footage of McCain in clunky glasses from his first year in Washington. “Things have changed in the last 26 years, but McCain hasn’t,” explains the announcer. “He admits he still doesn’t know how to use a computer, can’t send an e-mail, still doesn’t understand the economy and favors $200 billion in new tax cuts for corporations, but almost nothing for the middle class.” All the while it shows ancient computers and a cordless phone that looks like a World War II-era walkie-talkie.
The tax-cuts and economy barbs are familiar boilerplate. What’s new is the charge of computer illiteracy and the blatant attempt to attack McCain as too old for the job — and that speaks volumes.
First, the ad is dishonest. McCain has been one of the Senate’s leading authorities on telecom and the Internet.
In 2000, Forbes magazine called him the “Senate’s savviest technologist.” That same year, Slate’s Jacob Weisberg gushed that McCain was the most “cybersavvy” of all the presidential candidates that year, a crop that included none other than Al Gore. Being chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, Weisberg explained, “forced him to learn about the Internet early on, and young Web entrepreneurs such as Jerry Yang and Jeff Bezos fascinate him.”
Weisberg, an Obama booster, now disingenuously mocks McCain as “flummoxed by that newfangled doodad, the personal computer.”
One reason McCain is not versed in the mechanical details of sending e-mail and typing on a keyboard is that the North Vietnamese broke his fingers and shattered both of his arms. As Forbes, Slate and the Boston Globe reported in 2000, McCain’s injuries make using a keyboard painfully laborious. He mostly relies on his wife and staff to show him e-mails and websites, though he says he’s getting up to speed.
“It’s extraordinary,” Obama spokesman Dan Pfeiffer said, “that someone who wants to be our president and our commander in chief doesn’t know how to send an e-mail.” For the record, President Clinton sent exactly two e-mails while in office, according to the archives in his presidential library.
Besides, by this logic, Obama is even less qualified to be commander in chief because, unlike McCain, Obama has never fired a gun, flown a plane or led men during wartime.
And if the Obama campaign did not intend to mock a disabled veteran, what does it say about his supposedly “cybersavvy” campaign that they don’t know how to conduct a five-minute Google search to find out these things?
But the most revealing aspect of the ad is who it speaks to. According to Gallup, Obama has a 20- to 30-point advantage over McCain among 18- to 29-year-olds. Indeed, his base (not counting African American voters) is upscale college kids and new-economy young voters. These are the voters most likely to think being able to send an e-mail is, like, totally crucial.
The only other constituency — other than the press — that will be jazzed by such an attack are the Web-symbiotes of the left-wing netroots, another demographic Obama has locked up.
Older Americans, working-class Americans, veterans and other voters Obama desperately needs probably won’t care and might even take offense at Obama’s condescension.
There are two explanations for the ad. One is that Obama released it to reassure his base that he’s serious about attacking McCain, not to win over swing voters. That, or the campaign actually thinks it’s an effective ad.
Either way, the lesson is the same: Obama doesn’t know how to get outside his echo chamber. He talks about being bipartisan to hard-core liberals who like the words, but he hates actual deviation from the liberal line. He talks about new ideas, but he merely repackages old ones.
He is a candidate who has never had to sell himself to voters who weren’t already sold. And it shows.

Let’s assume, just for argument sake, that Sara Palin is grossly unqualified to be President. Let us further assume that John McCain choosing her shows the war hero’s “hatred for America” and is an act of “treason” (Richard Cohen made this charge today).
If choosing Sarah Palin as VP show “hatred for America” and is an “act of treaon”, how much more is the DNC, every super-delegate who voted for Obama, every elected offical who supported him and every columinst who is trying to get him elected guilty of “hatred of America” and “treason”?
Obama, at best, has more or less equivalent experience as Palin. He has represented larger constituencies, as a legislator, but has no executive experience at all. You can hide in a legislative body, but a Governor and even a small town mayor, has got to make tough decisions, there is no “present” button to push in the Governor’s office.
Either Obama and Palin are both well qualified to be POTUS, marignally qualified, or unqualified.
Assuming for a moment, they are both unqualified, at least Palin would have time to become more qualified. VP lends itself very well to “on the job training”, as long as the President does not drop dead in the first few months of his term.
If Obama is elected, (and we assume he and Palin are both unqualified) we will be guaranteed an unqualified President on Day 1.
Also, besides having at least equal experience to Obama, Governor Palin has demonstrated much more of the mental and emotional makeup needed to be President.
Obama, hesitates, waffles, stammter and stutters, and almost always votes with his party, except when he goes to the LEFT of the Democratic mainstream to oppose basic human rights for babies.
Palin is strong, decisive and has gone against her party numerous times at considerable political risk, and has always come out on top.
Sarah Palin is a natural leader of men (and women). Barack Obama is a natural college professor.
At this point in time I really want someone in the Oval Office that knows his way around the dance floor.

He joined with diplomat Richard Holbrooke in founding Public Strategies, which gave political advice to business clients. Later, he did similar work with Sherman Lehman in D.C. Holbrooke and Johnson remain together now, as vice chairmen of Perseus, an international merchant bank and private equity fund management company.
In 1990, Johnson went to work for the Federal National Mortgage Association (Fannie Mae) and quickly became its $5 million-a-year chairman. His compensation rose to a reported $21 million by his final year, 1998. He also increased his connections — and his access to power — by establishing Fannie Mae foundations that spread around millions of dollars. Homeless shelters, colleges, hospitals all benefited from Fannie Mae Foundation money.

OK so ACORN helps people who were barely qualified or totally unqualified get housing. So what would they be doing? Finding landlords who would rent to them? Well no. Landlords want to get paid. Fannie Mae had no such scruples. Ever hear of NINJA mortgages? Funny name, huh? It stand for No Income, No Job, No Assets. Just the kind of reliable folk honest lenders are looking for. People with a credit score of 0.
Help with getting poor people mortgages was only one service ACORN provided. Another was help with elections. Late last month six people hired by ACORN were indicted for their role in filing false voter registration forms involving a 2006 drive to increase Missouri’s minimum wage.
Here is something else interesting I’ll bet you didn’t know about ACORN:

ACORN is a former legal client of Senator Obama’s, as the Sun-Times reported in 2006:
In 1995, former Republican Gov. Jim Edgar refused to implement the federal “Motor Voter” law, which Republicans argued could invite fraud and which some Republicans feared could swell the ranks of Democratic voters.
The law mandated people be allowed to register to vote in government offices such as driver’s license renewal centers. Obama sued on behalf of ACORN, the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now. The League of Women Voters and other public-interest groups joined in.
“He and his client were the ones who filed the original case — they blazed the trail,” said Paul Mollica, who represented the League.
Voter fraud? From a Chicago Machine politician? I’m shocked. Actually I think that.

Milwaukee has discovered some more voter fraud with 10 more voter registration workers are being investigated by Wisconsin authorities. Fittingly, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel covered the story in its paper on August 29. Unfittingly, the Journal Sentinel forgot one, tiny aspect of the story… that the voter fraud was perpetrated by Democrats. In fact, one of the organizations, ACORN, is intimately linked with Barack Obama.

1 AN ACT concerning education.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The School Code is amended by changing
5 Sections 27-9.1 and 27-9.2 as follows:
6 (105 ILCS 5/27-9.1) (from Ch. 122, par. 27-9.1)
7 Sec. 27-9.1. Sex Education.
8 (a) No pupil shall be required to take or participate in
9 any class or course in comprehensive sex education if the
10 pupil’s his parent or guardian submits written objection
11 thereto, and refusal to take or participate in such course or
12 program shall not be reason for suspension or expulsion of
13 such pupil. Each class or course in comprehensive sex
14 education offered in any of grades K 6 through 12 shall
15 include instruction on the prevention of sexually transmitted
16 infections, including the prevention, transmission and spread
17 of HIV AIDS. Nothing in this Section prohibits instruction in
18 sanitation, hygiene or traditional courses in biology.
19 (b) All public elementary, junior high, and senior high
20 school classes that teach sex education and discuss sexual
21 activity or behavior intercourse shall emphasize that
22 abstinence is an effective method of preventing unintended is
23 the expected norm in that abstinence from sexual intercourse
24 is the only protection that is 100% effective against
25 unwanted teenage pregnancy, sexually transmitted diseases,
26 and HIV acquired immune deficiency syndrome (AIDS) when
27 transmitted sexually.
28 (c) In this subsection (c):
29 “Factual information” includes without limitation
30 medical, psychiatric, psychological, empirical, and
31 statistical statements.

1 “Medically accurate” means verified or supported by
2 research conducted in compliance with scientific methods,
3 published in peer-review journals, where appropriate, and
4 recognized as accurate and objective by professional
5 organizations and agencies with expertise in the relevant
6 field.
7 All sex education courses that discuss sexual activity or
8 behavior intercourse shall satisfy the following criteria:
9 (1) Factual information presented in course
10 material and instruction shall be medically accurate and
11 objective.
12 (2) All (1) course material and instruction shall
13 be age and developmentally appropriate.
14 (3) Course material and instruction shall include a
15 discussion of sexual abstinence as a method to prevent
16 unintended pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections,
17 including HIV.
18 (4) Course material and instruction shall present
19 the latest medically factual information regarding both
20 the possible side effects and health benefits of all
21 forms of contraception, including the success and failure
22 rates for the prevention of pregnancy and sexually
23 transmitted infections, including HIV.
24 (5) Course material and instruction shall include a
25 discussion of the possible consequences of unintended
26 pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, including
27 HIV.
28 (2) Course material and instruction shall teach
29 honor and respect for monogamous heterosexual marriage.
30 (3) Course material and instruction shall stress
31 that pupils should abstain from sexual intercourse until
32 they are ready for marriage.
33 (4) Course material and instruction shall include a
34 discussion of the possible emotional and psychological

1 consequences of preadolescent and adolescent sexual
2 intercourse outside of marriage and the consequences of
3 unwanted adolescent pregnancy.
4 (6) (5) Course material and instruction shall
5 stress that sexually transmitted infections diseases are
6 serious possible hazards of sexual activity or behavior
7 intercourse. Pupils shall be provided with statistics
8 based on the latest medical information citing the
9 failure and success rates of all contraceptive methods
10 condoms in preventing unintended pregnancies and HIV AIDS
11 and other sexually transmitted infections diseases.
12 (7) (6) Course material and instruction shall
13 advise pupils of the laws pertaining to their financial
14 responsibility to children born in and out of wedlock.
15 (8) (7) Course material and instruction shall
16 advise pupils that it is unlawful for males or females of
17 any age to engage in sexual conduct or have sexual
18 relations with a minor as specified in of the
19 circumstances under which it is unlawful for males to
20 have sexual relations with females under the age of 18 to
21 whom they are not married pursuant to Article 12 of the
22 Criminal Code of 1961, as now or hereafter amended.
23 (9) Course material and instruction shall discuss
24 and provide for the development of positive communication
25 skills to maintain healthy relationships and avoid
26 unwanted sexual activity.
27 (10) Course material and instruction shall
28 emphasize that the pupil has the power to control
29 personal behavior. Pupils shall be encouraged to base
30 their actions on reasoning, self-discipline, sense of
31 responsibility, self-control, and ethical considerations,
32 such as respect for oneself and others.
33 (11) (8) Course material and instruction shall
34 teach pupils to not make unwanted physical and verbal

1 sexual advances and how to say no to unwanted sexual
2 advances and shall include information about verbal,
3 physical, and visual sexual harassment, including without
4 limitation nonconsensual sexual advances, nonconsensual
5 physical sexual contact, and rape by an acquaintance. The
6 course material and instruction shall contain methods of
7 preventing sexual assault by an acquaintance, including
8 exercising good judgment and avoiding behavior that
9 impairs one’s judgment. The course material and
10 instruction shall emphasize personal accountability and
11 respect for others and Pupils shall be taught that it is
12 wrong to take advantage of or to exploit another person.
13 The material and instruction shall also encourage youth
14 to resist negative peer pressure. The course material and
15 instruction shall inform pupils of the potential legal
16 consequences of sexual assault by an acquaintance.
17 Specifically, pupils shall be advised that it is unlawful
18 to touch an intimate part of another person as specified
19 in the Criminal Code of 1961.
20 (12) Course material and instruction shall teach
21 male pupils about male accountability for sexual violence
22 and shall teach female students about reducing
23 vulnerability for sexual violence.
24 (13) Course material and instruction shall teach
25 pupils about counseling, medical, and legal resources
26 available to survivors of sexual abuse and sexual
27 assault, including resources for escaping violent
