So this says open thread so I assume I’m free from the No-Quarter Gestapo.

Now, any comments on Sarah Palin believing, and stating on National TV, that being Gay is a CHOICE?

No Gestapo here but the hypocrisy and consistency police are indeed on duty. Would you care for seasoning for your own words?

Comment by Jeff | 2008-09-30 15:08:59

I’ll accept it, thanks very much.

I’m voting for Obama like my life depends on it.

No way, no how, NO CREATIONISTS IN THE WHITE HOUSE

Oh Jeff, are you afraid that a creationist will sell their soul for personal gain?

Or is it that she is someone with Christian principles whom also allows and accepts that others have different beliefs?

I guess that tolerance is not a virtue you like to see in a candidate…

Yea, no. Never claimed to be tolerant. There is no way in hell a creationist who sits in Church and listens to Jews for Jesus is getting anywhere near the White House.

By your standard you should not let Obarky near the Whitehouse either, unless you agree with black liberation theology. You know that 20 year racist unamerican pastor, mentor and friend thing.

I would direct readers interested in open and honest discourse to this transcript from Politico:

http://www.politico.com/blogs/bensmith/0908/Palin_on_social_issues.html?showall

There are lots of issues Palin discussed, including abortion, homosexuality, evolution, etc.

I also do not believe Palin said it was a choice, although there may be a fuller transcript. Here is what Politico printed:

Couric: The governor told CBS News though she’s not a member of any church, she visits a couple of them regularly when she’s home. She took issue with news reports that one of them, The Wasilla Bible Church, sponsored a conference where gays could be made straight through prayer.

Palin: Well, it matters though, Katie, when the media gets it wrong, it frustrates Americans who are just trying to get the facts and … be able to make up their mind on, about a person’s values. So it does matter.

But what you’re talking about, I think, value here, what my position is on homosexuality and you can pray it away, because I think that was the title that was listed on that bulletin. And you know, I don’t know what prayers are worthy of being prayed. I don’t know what’s prayers are going to be asked and answered. But as for homosexuality, I am not going to judge Americans and the decisions that they make in their adult personal relationships. I have one of my absolute best friends for the last 30 years happens to be gay, and I love her dearly. And she is not my “gay friend,” she is one of my best friends, who happens to have made a choice that isn’t a choice I would have made. But I am not going to judge people.

I think I know what she meant. She did not want the views of a church she visited ascribed to her, she does not know if prayer would work but in any event she is not judging homosexuality to be wrong — it is a personal decision.

That’s a hot button issue and a draw at worst since we know Dear Leader is homophobic.

Here’s a fuller transcript from the CBS website. http://www.cbsnews.com/stories/2008/09/30/eveningnews/main4490618.shtml Very interesting and good answers on issues like global warming (it’s real, and likely a combination of man’s causation and cyclical climate change), and drilling (she says we should have started it ten years ago). (It has been much warmer than this in the past on earth, says my wife who reads techie books on climate).

Jeff … Obama certainly has no great fondness for homosexuals … besides the SF mayor photo snub, there’s plenty of info available that clearly reflect his attitude toward gays. This one is from a year ago:

http://gaycitynews.com/site/news.cfm?newsid=18956221&BRD=2729&PAG=461&dept_id=568864&rfi=6

Palin obviously will never be a staunch defender of gays, either, but she did support same-sex partner benefits for government employees in Alaska, and she is at least honest about her beliefs, like ‘em or not.

Now go to bed, dummer Kinderunterstützer von Obama … you’ll be late for the school bus tomorrow morning.

Sehr gut! ;)

The trolls are so transparent. They pick an issue Ohitler is weak on himself then go on the offensive. It is only a diversion and totally insincere. Palin may have socially conservative roots but she honors the separation of church and state in her governing as you pointed out.

Larry Sinclair would beg to differ?

Comment by Stephen | 2008-09-30 21:23:01

Cat–Obama is no homophobe! He is gay, or at the very least bisexual himself! Have you been living under a rock for the past several months. Larry Sinclair is going on the road, as we speak, to let the country know that he and Obama did cocaine and had oral sex in the back of a limo in 1999. Don’t you realize that when someone doesn’t want to be found out, they try to disassociate themselves as much as possible with that group. That is exactly what he is doing. Let’s not forget the untimely death of his choir director at his church who was an openly gay man and claimed, in a conversation with Sinclair, that he was having a affair with Obama. Catch up here, Cat! Obama is a liar and a hypocrite.

Stephen, some of the most vile homophobic people are gay. They are gay but in denial. They are filled with self-loathing.

Homophobic is fear and/or disdain for homosexuals. He fits the definition.

Holy Sh*t!

Phil Berg, Esq., just said Obama is essentially an illegal alien. I scanned through Berg’s recent court filing (pdf) and is has this paragraph:

Since Obama’s birth was legally acknowledged by Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen, and/or Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, which the evidence attached hereto supports, Obama became an Indonesian citizen and bears the status as an Indonesia natural child (natural-born). For this reason, Obama would have been required to file applications with the U. S. State Department and follow the legal procedures to become a naturalized citizen in the United States, when he returned from Indonesia. If Obama and/or his family failed to follow these procedures, then Obama is an illegal alien.

.

Again, as previously stated, since Obama’s birth was legally Acknowledged by Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian citizen, and/or Obama was adopted by Lolo Soetoro, which the evidence attached hereto supports, Obama became an Indonesian citizen and bears the status as an Indonesia natural child (natural-born). For this reason, Obama would have been required to file applications with the U.S. State Department and follow the legal procedures to become a naturalized citizen in the United States, when he returned from Indonesia. If Obama and/or his family failed to follow these procedures, then Obama is an illegal alien.

Furthermore, Obama traveled to Indonesia and Pakistan in 1981 using his Indonesian passport. Indonesian passports require renewal every five (5) years. At the time of Obama’s travels, Obama was twenty (20) years old. If Obama was required to give affirmation of allegiance to Indonesia to secure his Indonesian Passport or in renewing, which is required every five (5) years, his Indonesian passport and/or traveling on said passport, Obama was giving affirmation or reaffirmation of allegiance to Indonesia in violation of 8 U.S.C. 1401(a)(1). Taking an oath or making an affirmation or other formal declaration of allegiance to a foreign state…after having attained the age of eighteen years provides loss of nationality by native born citizens, 8 USC §1481(a)(2).

I came across this as I was surfing other sites. It’s probably a bit off the wall, and most politicians would never endorse it, but I liked the idea. Thought I’d post a link on an open thread, Cheers.

Michelle Malkin

A debate “moderator” in the tank for Obama
By Michelle Malkin • September 30, 2008 10:13 PM

My first syndicated column of the week, filed this afternoon, shines light on PBS anchor Gwen Ifill, who will moderate Thursday’s only vice presidential debate. Try as she might to deflect questions about her impartiality, her biases — and her conflict of interest — are clear. But don’t you dare breathe a word about any of this. You know what will happen if you do…

RACIST!

Sidenote: TVNewser reports that Ifill has broken her ankle, but she’s still going to do the debate. But will she disclose her conflict of interest? Inquiring minds want to know.

Ask the Commission on Presidential Debates if she will acknowledge her conflict of interest: 202-872-1020.

And here’s the e-mail address of Janet H. Brown, Executive Director of the Debates Commission: jb@debates.org

Hopefully, their email system works better than the House.

Tons of readers recommend that Sarah Palin open her debate remarks by congratulating Ifill on her book and asking her to tell everyone the title.
