EXTRA CREDIT LOL GO Sarah~~

Comment by KHL | 2008-10-02 21:15:15

I am very scared of the Bosniacs, I think I can handle Kosovars and the Croats. Why didn’t Palin name names on Fannie and Freddie? Johnson, Franklin Delano Rains, Solomon Barnie Frank, Cris Countrywide Dodd and Komrad Konrad. Why don’t they name names? Why are they keeping their powder dry? What are they waiting for?

Comment by KHL | 2008-10-02 21:52:11

whoops, forgot that Palin doesn’t actually know names

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-10-02 22:44:08

Palin knew the name of the Nato Commmander in Afghanistan, Army Gen. David D. McKiernan. Biden did not.

Biden gave a long winded disertation that the “General in Afghanistan has said a “surge” in that theater won’t work”. He did not know the Generals name.

Palin responded that just today, “Allied forces are facing a tougher fight in Afghanistan than was expected and need an infusion of American troops “as quickly as possible,” the top U.S. commander there said Wednesday.”

She was right on with Gen. David D. McKiernan’s statement, and even knew his name.

Comment by Johnny at Work | 2008-10-02 22:37:55

She did not need to name those names. They are in non stop ads in the battleground states.

Comment by Jane Doe | 2008-10-02 21:15:30

When the hell did he ever get ANYTHING done??

Comment by Flineo | 2008-10-02 21:15:57

“Say it ain’t so, Joe”…

She gets better toward the latter part.
Good answers!

Comment by Matthew Weaver | 2008-10-02 21:16:00

I just switched to CNN and saw the meter for Ohio voters max out for Palin as she discussed education. For those watching on CNN, is this typical throughout the debate?

Comment by Carol | 2008-10-02 22:15:56

Well the dopeheads voting on cnn’s poll on who fared better on the VP debate are showing Biden 73%, Sarah 24% and 3% neither. I guess they didn’t watch the same debate we did.

Comment by nancyjoe | 2008-10-02 21:16:23

I really do think he’s going to ask her out for a cocktail after this.

Comment by Heather | 2008-10-02 21:21:37

Me too, he keeps smiling at her with what looks like real affection.

Comment by TexasBuckeye | 2008-10-02 21:47:47

I see the same thing.

Joe looks at her adoringly and grins from ear to ear as she kicks him in the peaches. “Hit me again, baby, cause you do it so well, and in heels!”

Go Sarah. Get him.

Comment by Jack | 2008-10-02 21:17:29

Yeah, go Sarah!

Comment by just me | 2008-10-02 21:17:43

EXTRA CREDIT !! she has them down pat~

Comment by NoBAma | 2008-10-02 21:17:52

Biden is making faces now…not pretty.

Comment by Jane Doe | 2008-10-02 21:18:11

He’s a sleazy stalker type! Sarah may need a TRO after this debate is over.

Comment by 30yrdem-not any more | 2008-10-02 21:18:18

Biden is going to holding Obama’s hand….who is running for president?

Comment by zozosmom | 2008-10-02 21:18:38

She’s been doing very well. Biden has been getting decent scores, but she is doing really well. He’s been bombing when he talks too long.

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-02 21:18:47

She is rockin’!!! Her honest, look ‘em in the eye, folksy style is rocking the house.

Comment by Rima | 2008-10-02 21:18:57

The CNN meer keeps hittin the top when Biden is talking Iraq/Afghanistan though…:(.

Comment by verminme | 2008-10-02 21:19:12

Sarah not so good on the Cheney answer. He’s a fuck and everybody knows it. Don’t get into the constitutional weeds.

Comment by Athena The Warrior | 2008-10-02 21:19:20

OMG! Joe just admitted that BoBo needs him to help him govern while Sarah said that McCain has areas that he wants her to target. Paints BoBo as needing a helper as President.

Comment by trixta | 2008-10-02 21:52:19

That’s the impression I got—Obama needs Biden by his side at every turn! Bad moment for Obama.

Comment by wodiej | 2008-10-02 21:19:27

This debate should be proof to the McCain campaign to let Sarah Palin be Sarah Palin. That is why she has an 80% approval rating as Governor of Alaska. If you have a secret weapon, use it for God’s sake! She is kicking Biden’s ass out into no man’s land!!

Comment by YES HRC | 2008-10-02 21:19:57

Big mistake, Biden, the junior high goofball face.

Comment by Postmaster | 2008-10-02 21:20:08

If the MSM disses her, I’m going to flood them with hate email! Yeah, that’ll fix’m!

Comment by trixta | 2008-10-02 21:20:30

I do have to agree with Biden about Cheney though! She did so so on that one.

But she certainly is coming through as more energetic and personable on the tube. I don’t think she looks nervous, but rather as someone with gravitas and confidence.

Comment by wonderwoman | 2008-10-02 21:35:56

I think she’s very nervous. I almost wish I could do it for her.

Comment by Mr. Natural | 2008-10-02 21:47:22

I almost wish I could do it for her.

If I were a letch, which I am not, that would be tonight’s best set up, and I’d run with it.

Comment by zozosmom | 2008-10-02 21:23:37

He choked up over his wife and son’s deaths.

Comment by AnnieCarmel | 2008-10-02 21:31:03

What? Tears? Not good.

Comment by nancyjoe | 2008-10-02 21:22:18

This is going to put the MSM in the credibility crapper. They will try to write that Mr. Hair Club For Me won and they will lose the remaining 2% of credibility they have. ROFLMAO - ‘GO ‘CUDA.

Comment by Margaret | 2008-10-02 21:22:49

Thank you Susan for providing this forum for us! Don’t know what I’d do without No Quarter.

Comment by Sally | 2008-10-02 21:23:08

What a gal!!!!

Comment by SBwa | 2008-10-02 21:23:36

Comment by wodiej | 2008-10-02 21:24:04

oh my gosh…me too!!

Comment by NoObamaNation | 2008-10-02 21:24:08

Biden is getting very pissed. Sarah is pushing him to the edge.

Comment by Bob | 2008-10-02 21:24:15

Agree. NoQuarter is the reason I still get up in the morning!

Comment by Crystal | 2008-10-02 21:24:23

Sarah made him cry.

Comment by rw | 2008-10-02 21:24:27

Did Biden just go from chocking up to being a bitch….

Comment by hadenough | 2008-10-02 21:24:44

biden = angry

Will the “liberal media” notice? Eight ball says no.

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-02 21:24:45

Biden is coming across as sooooo negative and is dissing John McCain right and left. Sarah, on the other hand, is not so much dissing nobama, but is pointing out McCain’s strengths as well as her own.

Sarah’s comments leave a much better taste in the mouth.

Comment by KHL | 2008-10-02 21:24:55

Ifill has been very even handed. She has definitely been gotten to.

Comment by SBwa | 2008-10-02 21:29:49

Well, she has a reputation to protect. It would be a waste to throw away the respect she has earned for herself in her profession.

Comment by wonderwoman | 2008-10-02 22:10:42

Ifill has been exposed. Do you guys remember the way she tried to get Cheney in the 2004 debate? Well she didn’t know she was dealing with the darth vader.

Comment by AnnieCarmel | 2008-10-02 21:25:12

Good. Sarah getting the last comment. (I think). She’s great!

Comment by Hillary or Bust | 2008-10-02 21:25:21

I have to say that I think Ifill is doing a decent job and has been fair and neutral for the most part, asking good questions.

Comment by Daisy | 2008-10-02 21:25:32

Biden loves to cry. He’s always tearing on the campaign trail.

Comment by 30yrdem-not any more | 2008-10-02 21:25:47

Biden keeps saying I she keeps saying McCain

Comment by Jane Doe | 2008-10-02 21:25:51

Biden needs another drink. He can’t make a coherent sentence.

Comment by trixta | 2008-10-02 21:25:53

Come on! The guy’s family was all but wiped out! That was sincere.

But Sarah is coming off better overall without going to the overly emotional issues.

Comment by Karma | 2008-10-02 21:26:03

What a major gaffe! He is there because Obama is weak.

Hillary would never make such a mistake.

I bet Obama and Michelle are kicking themselves for being so immature about the Clintons.

Comment by Dr. Kate | 2008-10-02 21:26:08

Just WOW, Governor! :-D

Comment by Thinker | 2008-10-02 21:26:20

I don’t think my comment went through:

I said that I think that the talking heads will pick up on Palin’s comment about the Constitution should give the VP more power.

It’s said that this is what Cheney wants, and I think they will try to say that Palin is therefore like Cheney.

Of course this isn’t true, but this might be the angle they run with, because uhm, yeah, Palin kicked butt tonight.

Comment by YES HRC | 2008-10-02 21:26:26

He’s a blowhard. Sarah Palin is direct. (Cool flag pin.)

Comment by MsSoAnd So | 2008-10-02 21:26:35

He is quite flustered. He prepped for one debate and Palin brought another!

Comment by Mr. Natural | 2008-10-02 21:50:03

He prepped for one debate and Palin brought another!

Ifill pushed, but Palin pushed harder.

Comment by Dee | 2008-10-02 21:26:40

This debate is for the people, Joe. It would be great if you would raise your head and make eye contact with the camera so we know you care.

Comment by Linda | 2008-10-02 21:26:49

Independents hate Iraq. Even though the surge is working, they see nothing good about it. The guy who does those meters was on O’Reilly a couple of days ago with the one from last weeks debate, and it didn’t matter what the specific questions was, everytime Iraq came up it went up for Bama and down for McCain.

Comment by BettsAZ | 2008-10-02 21:37:41

I’m an independent…I am for VICTORY in Iraq.

Comment by Margaret | 2008-10-02 21:26:59

Shoot, I wish she had pushed back on Biden saying McCain isn’t a maverick, he was sounding effective there. Of course, Gwennie didn’t give her a chance to respond, like she always does for Joey. Oh wait, now Sarah is pushing back…not as strong as I would like

Comment by Pearl | 2008-10-02 21:28:22

I think Sarah did quite well this evening, better than I expected. Very impressive. I thought Moderator Ifill was very fair. So who won?

Comment by TexasVoter | 2008-10-02 21:28:25

Joe’s starting to slur his words. Sarah has him second guessing himself. Go Sarah Cuda.

Comment by baby-puppy | 2008-10-02 21:29:02

Sarah-cuda is kicking butt.

her kids go to PUBLIC schools!

Comment by verminme | 2008-10-02 21:29:10

BIDEN ON WORKING ACROSS the isle… Clarence Thomas - I’m just sayin

Comment by PS | 2008-10-02 21:29:25

Now we know who may be BO’s new teleprompter writer….it’s JOE!!

Comment by Jane Doe | 2008-10-02 21:30:07

Got that jab in on the MSM! Go Sarah Cuda!

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-02 21:30:47

I love it when she looks directly into the camera and speaks. She will win the hearts of the American people (at least the ones who truly love this country).

Comment by Heather | 2008-10-02 21:30:50

Palin is accelerating nicely here at the last. She seems less scared and she’s hitting Obama in various ways, and making good points.

Comment by just me | 2008-10-02 21:30:55

the filter she hits them on it all : Gets em Sarah~

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-10-02 21:31:12

She just said she’s always been PROUD to be an American! Woo hoo! God, she makes me feel better about America.

Comment by Athena The Warrior | 2008-10-02 21:31:44

Yes! She just sniped Michelle about always being proud of America and what a great country this is.

Comment by Margaret | 2008-10-02 21:31:56

Sarah kicked ass in closing comments. On importance of protecting America’s freedom so we don’t end up talking about freedom in the past tense. Said she has always been proud of America, and so has John McCain. Yes!

Comment by Judy L. NC | 2008-10-02 21:31:59

Who else choked up on her closing statement?

Comment by Peggy Sue | 2008-10-02 21:32:05

Wow! Palin is showing who she is, speaking directly the people and despite all the cramming [which has made her answers sharp and specific] she is absolutely authentic.

Despite the incredible pressure, this woman is a quick study and utterly appealing.

Good for you, Sarah! McCain was right. You’re a perfect vp choice and a strong, political companion.

McCain/Palin ‘08

Comment by Karma | 2008-10-02 21:32:13

LOL….nailed the MSM about their filter.

Talking directly to the people.

Comment by YES HRC | 2008-10-02 21:32:32

She just won. Great job, Sarah. I’d like to see her debate BO, too. She excels at this.

Comment by Prem | 2008-10-02 21:32:36

Great closing of Sarah’s—she is proud of America. That was a dig on MO! Way to go!

Comment by NoObamaNation | 2008-10-02 21:32:43

God bless America ! What a debate ! What a lady !

Comment by Sally | 2008-10-02 21:32:45

What a gal!

Comment by SBwa | 2008-10-02 21:32:52

I wonder how many people viewed the debate. Surely, more than the number who viewed the interviews. I’m hoping to see a bounce in McCain’s numbers now that this debate is over. She held her own, she should have allayed some fears among doubters that were on the fence.
Now, McCain has to hit them out of the ballpark.

Comment by tarheelmrp | 2008-10-02 21:32:58

I’m sorry…but I’m sick and tired of hearing how awful everything is as a reason to vote for BHO. We have challenges. OF COURSE! But I want to hear about the potential, the hope. What’s possible BECAUSE we are great. Not what’s possible b/c things are so dire.
I’M SICK OF IT!

Comment by Athena The Warrior | 2008-10-02 21:55:10

Exactly. We’re not a perfect country but we keep making forward progress and she and McCain both espouse that. Real Americans who love this country believe that and want an administration that feels the same way.

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-10-02 22:15:57

Did you say hope? Why, isn’t Barky the hopey-changey candidate? Or is he the gloom, doom, and there’s no hope dope?

Comment by PhxNickD | 2008-10-02 21:33:06

I always said we needed a woman in the white house to get things done and make the changes that needed to happen. I stand corrected. We need a mother in the white house.

Comment by NoBAma | 2008-10-02 21:33:14

Sarah Palin wins hands down. THE MSM has egg on its face again try to make her look like an idiot–she is very good and she has the right values.

Comment by requiredreading | 2008-10-02 21:33:15

She did the MSM thing! “I’d rather you hear things straight from me than from the MSM that tells you what they think they just heard” - She is so genuine, so refreshing!

Comment by hadenough | 2008-10-02 21:33:23

We are reminded once again why obiden dropped out early every time he ran for president.

Comment by verminme | 2008-10-02 21:33:33

Biden in closing - his JAg Off son hasn’t gone yet? I thought he was going 2 months ago. Nice to be in high places.

Comment by Daisy's Mom | 2008-10-02 21:33:42

WOW. Sarah Palin sounds like Ronald Reagan!

Biden sounds — well like Biden.

I think Joe wanted to kiss Sarah….!

Comment by nancyjoe | 2008-10-02 21:33:43

I think this is actually embarrassing for Biden. He looks like a beady-eyed, untrustworthy old RAT. She looks like a fresh-faced, go get ‘em patriot with passion and love for America. There is NO ONE that can even remotely think to call this for Biden. He’s tanking. Period.

GO ‘CUDA

Comment by Matthew Weaver | 2008-10-02 21:33:48

Who won?

Palin won for not letting anything get past her. She spoke to the country. She talked a bit long on a few points but that didn’t distract from her performance. She did sound nervous but never unprepared or hesitant.

Biden lost for anger. He was on the defensive and it came out over and over again.

Ifill should not have been the moderator but she did fine. Except for one moment early one, she seemed fair and silent on the sidelines.

Media lost. Palin spoke to the country. The media looks like fools for their coverage over the past weeks.

Comment by lisa in va | 2008-10-03 00:25:26

I’d say that about sums it up.

Comment by Xentie 69 | 2008-10-02 21:34:22

I love you Sarah! Our All American Woman! Spread the good word people, let the people know that Barack Hussein Obama is wrong for this Country! We don’t want a Socialistic Country!

Comment by Rima | 2008-10-02 21:36:19

Okay so IS he asking her out in front of their spouses?

Comment by Athena The Warrior | 2008-10-02 21:36:31

I’m streaming this on Fox and Sarah went over to Gwen and Sarah the class act thanked Gwen but I didn’t hear Gwen say anything. Biden came over they shook hands and she told him he did great. Did I miss anything in there?

Comment by Retired | 2008-10-02 21:52:06

Yeah, you missed Gwen’s literary agent texting her, “Don’t start spending that royalty on your Obama book quite yet.”

Luntz has the blow by blow real time results. It was so overwhelmingly for Palin that he is predicting a significant shift in polling over the next couple of days.

Comment by AnnieCarmel | 2008-10-02 21:36:43

Wait till Hannity comes on next. He’ll be the cheering section.
