CORROBORATED: Rezko Speaks, Prosecutors Interested in Obama Listen

(bumped up by SusanUnPC)

arena_p2_rezko.jpg

We warned readers of No Quarter of the problems convicted slumlord and political fixer Antoin “Tony” Rezko would create for Obama during the final stretch of the Presidential campaign, and now we have confirmation. I quote the Associated Press:

CHICAGO (AP) — Federal prosecutors have asked to delay the sentencing of convicted fundraiser Antoin “Tony” Rezko indefinitely.

The motion filed Monday afternoon signals the key fundraiser for Gov. Rod Blagojevich, Sen. Barack Obama and other Illinois Domocrats may be telling prosecutors what he knows about corruption in state government.

It asks U.S. District Judge Amy J. St. Eve to delay the sentencing “while the parties engage in discussions that could affect their sentencing postures.” The language is all but an acknowledgment that Rezko is talking.

Rezko was convicted of launching a $7 million scheme to use his clout with Blagojevich’s administration to pressure a contractor and firms wanting to do business with the state for kickbacks.

And yes, Obama was involved in Illinois state government in 2003 through 2005, the time during which Rezko was defrauding the Illinois State Teachers’ Pension fund and bankrolling certain politicians. I quote what I wrote in my last essay on this subject:

2005 is the year Rezko helped Obama purchase the mansion in the Kenwood neighborhood in inner city Chicago. And 2003 is the year Rezko held a fundraiser for US Senate candidate Barack Obama at his posh home in Wilmette, Illinois. Another event of significance in 2003 is Illinois Governor Blagojevich’s appointment of Rezko to the Board that oversees the $30 billlion dollar teachers’ pension fund. This is the same year during which Barack Obama was appointed to the Illinois state Senate Committee on Pensions and Investments by his friend and mentor state Senator Emil Jones. According to the Superseding Indictment filed by Fitzgerald in December 2006, Obama’s appointment to this state Senate committee coincided with Rezko’s attempts to leverage his influence with “high-ranking State of Illinois officials” to oppose a pension consolidation plan that would complicate the efforts of Rezko and Levine to defraud investment firms and the pensions funds of Illinois. Notice also how Obama sat on the state Senate Pensions and Investments Board when Rezko funneled money he defrauded from an investment firm that sought access to the Illinois pensions fund to Obama through Joseph Aramanda, whose son worked as an intern in Obama’s US Senate office in 2005, the year Rezko advised and assisted the Obamas when they purchased the Kenwood mansion they could not afford.

I guess there will be surprises in October. And Obama thought Ayers was his only problem. Let us reintroduce the electorate to Antoin “Tony” Rezko.

This is a perfect time to bring up Obama’s cousin Odinga- show everybody the burn christian churches and the connections to Obama.
Listening ….Mccain’s camp?

Comment by Soldier of Christ | 2008-10-07 08:21:23

This story should be all over the media- showing that Obama’s country has turned into radical behavior. Also have Bush threaten them with taken their food and support from us, and they will definitely release him. I wouldn’t doubt it that Obama’s camp has something to do with this. LOOK AT WHAT HAPPENS TO PEOPLE WHO DISGREE WITH OBAMA’S NOMINATION! SOCIALIST AT IT’S BEST!

mccain should bring this up in the debate. confront barky and say sir let corsi go. have you and your cousin no shame.

Comment by Touchet | 2008-10-07 10:49:55

umm how do you have “ethinic tensions” in that region? That is a vastly WRONG adjective to describe the situation. A more likely one would be tribal warfare. They are all of the same “ethnic” background. That would be like saying that the north and southern french people were having “ethnic” problems over whom should be president. Give me a break.

Comment by Talk2ThePaw | 2008-10-07 11:28:53

Obambi already has his brownshirts rewriting the family tree to throw Odinga under the bus and say they are not even related.

The sad part is that any documentation that Corsi got in Kenya has now been destroyed and will never see the light of day. And anyone who gave him a personal interview is probably dead or in a secret prison where they will never be heard from again.

Comment by pasmalltowngirl | 2008-10-07 10:00:40

I was listenimg to WPGB (Hannity’s station) 104.7 in Pittsburgh this morning when Corsi called in from Kenya. They asked him if there was anyone he wanted them to get in touch with, He said to call Obama and ask why he is detained. He also said to spread this all around the country.

Comment by C.S | 2008-10-07 09:08:54

When U. S. citizens are detained in foreign countries Embassy staff should investigate and get Corsi released or else we have to look at that nation as unfriendly for not cooperating with our government. And if Kenya is a member of the Commonwealth, the British could intercede also.

What U. S. citizen wants a president with personal ties to unfriendly nations who won’t assist a U. S. citizen in trouble with its government? Especially a president who actually went there and participated in a Kenyan election by campaigning for one of the candidates!

Comment by justme | 2008-10-07 11:43:05

Q: What do you get when you cross 39% Democrats with 30% Republicans and 25% Independents living in a Democratic district?

A: An increase in the Polls for Obama.

Q: What do you get when you cross 45% Democrats with 31% Republicans and 24% Independents?

A: An even larger increase in the Polls for Obama.

Moral of the story: McCain is not loosing and he MSM wants you to think Obama is winning.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-10-07 04:41:26

I read about this yesterday. However I am not really convinced that the current government wants to go after Obama. I believe Bush and Obama are being backed by the same people. So it would not make sense if they would try to take Obama down. This could only be true if the prosecutors are doing this on their own.

Comment by Touchet | 2008-10-07 04:44:55

I believe this as well. Obama is the nail in the coffin.

Comment by Irish1139 | 2008-10-07 04:49:18

They are probably waiting for sentencing til Obama is president and he can pardon him.

This is one of the most corrupt regimes in American history.

Comment by BernieO | 2008-10-07 08:03:47

I have a hard time seeing Patrick Fitzgerald as a political player. He has seemed evenhanded in his targets, yet the timing of this is suspicious. On the other hand maybe Tony has held out and is just now signalling that he is willing to deal.

I still think that Obama’s house deal looks a lot like the deal that Ted Stevens had with the work on his house and that got Stevens indicted. Obama clearly got a gift worth more than $50 from the Rezkos. Stevens is not accused of doing favors for the guy who did all that free work on his house (too hard to prove) just of taking the valuable favor. So why hasn’t this same issue been raised against Obama? Could someone explain the difference? If there is one I assume it is a technical one…..

Comment by snosandy | 2008-10-07 08:52:12

Comment by snosandy | 2008-10-07 08:56:18

BTW, when Obama bought his house in 2005 that was in the height of “bidding wars” on houses. I know because that was the year we bought our house. Most houses sold for at least the asking price, many over asking price, so how else could he get $300K knocked off the price except with the help of Rezko?

Comment by jbjd | 2008-10-07 11:15:25

Recall that, when first asked, BO claimed Rezko was someone for whom he did 4 or 5 hours worth of work, through the law firm. That is, the 2 men were not friends but rather, business acquaintances. When he admitted some time later that Rezko had performed a “walk-through” before he purchased his mansion, on account of his real estate acumen, my first question was, did Rezko charge for his appraisal services? If not, they were friends.

But, in light of what is happening to Senator Stevens, now I am wondering, if not, are walk-through services worth more than $50?

Comment by BettsAZ | 2008-10-07 11:24:34

The first thought I had was that they will try(and may succeed) to delay all of this until after Nov.4.

Comment by beebop | 2008-10-07 05:29:06

Same prosecutor who went after Bush’s boys. I have great hope in this ….. I just hope that it doesn’t come after the election. President Biden doesn’t give me any comfort at all …..

Comment by Eden | 2008-10-07 06:36:40

The prosecutor has never lost a case.

He put our last governor in prison.

Thanks to the influence by the Chicago Daley Machine (60 years), something like 4 out of 7 of the last Illinois governors have either been convicted or tied to corruption.

I worked for one Chicago governor, Thompson. While I liked him personally, I honestly never trusted him, but he was never tied to an corruption (that I can recall).

The ONLY governor I can recall in my lifetime that I or anyone I know has ever had confidence in was Jim Edgar, who is from downstate (Charleston). If he hadn’t have had heart problems, he would have been a good candidate for President.

I hope I live long enough to see Daley and has gang of thugs banished from Chicago and Illinois.

So after the election Rezko may or may not talk. My guess is that he doesn’t want to spend the rest of his life in prison — and if there is a way out . . . .

And then again he might be running out the clock.

It’s obvious that Obama-Soetoro wouldn’t have gotten as far and as fast as he did if he had not been playing the Chicago way. He has too many shady friends who just want to “help” him.

Comment by John Smith | 2008-10-07 04:55:23

They are trying to turn Washington into Chicago. I guess that is really not that hard to do. All the ground work has already been done.

Corsi was promoting his book at the hotel…Good timing for Corsi

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-10-07 12:16:45

Corsi went to Kenya to do research on Obama’s ties to Odinga and his particpation in Kenyan politics. He had a news conference scheduled at a hotel to announce his findings, but was arrested by Kenyan immigration officials and hustled to a car as soon as he walked into the hotel for his news conference. Kenyan officials say that the immigration arrest was for not having authorization to work, but Corsi wasn’t there for emplopyment, and he claims that all of his immigration paperwork was in perfect order, and that he had even met with senior Kenyan government officials during his stay. Obama is also trying to get the Pennsylvania court to delay discovery in the birth records case. Why delay discovery when the person bringing the case has said that he would gladly dismiss the case if certified birth records are produced ? McCains statement in New Mexico yesterday was sooooo overdue and very welcome. Damn, its long past time for the gloves to come off, and I’m glad that McCain actually called him a liar (yes, he did use that word!)

Comment by Lee M | 2008-10-07 10:26:13

Corsi went to Kenya at the request of a Christian mission to work with their people there in investigating and reporting on the Islamic rising there. He was scheduled to send daily reports on the atrocities perpetrated on the christians by the muslims. The burning of churches, etc.

He was arrested by the Kenyan police before he could have any meetings or transmit any broadcasts.

Does anybody see the similarity in this and the arrest of Larry Sinclair? Larry’s arrest was at the behest of Joe Biden’s son who was then the Attorney General of Delaware. Corsi’s arrest ????

Odinga is a cousin of Obama and the leader of the muslim group. Odinga is the person for whom Obama campaigned in Kenya in violation of the Logan Act.

This is scary people. We should all contact our government and insist that they rescue Jerome Corsi.

Elect Obama and his civilian police force will be coming after us next.

Troopergate is so ridiculous. You have Obama hanging around with and doing dirty dealings with thugs who commit fraud and launder money, and terrorists who hate america. Then you have Palin who has scum fired for insubordination and who beat his wife, and wishes for another thug who tasered her nephew and threatened the life of her family would be taken off the streets. NO BRAINER! Get the criminal/America hater (Obama) off the ballot.

Comment by Rob in Chicago | 2008-10-07 12:21:57

Gov. Palin’s former brother-in-law apparently had some real “issues” with women, and some of his 4 ex-wives are talking about them.

Comment by Deep Truths | 2008-10-07 06:34:27

You are comparing a firecracker to a missle strike. They both go ‘boom’ but there is a exponential difference in magnitude.

Comment by OhVoter | 2008-10-07 07:19:11

Please ask yourself — If you were an employer and one of your employees threatened to kill your father and actually tasered your sister’s 10-year-old son, WOULD YOU FIRE HIM? Would you demand that your department head fire him?

Good Lord, this issue is a WINNER for Sarah Palin. Had she NOT tried to protect her family people would wonder what kind of a person she is. Threatening the life of a member of the first family (Palin’s father) is enough of a reason to immediately fire that trooper.

Comment by dpvegas | 2008-10-07 07:44:55

As now-Libertarian Mike Gravel (former Democratic Presidential candidate from Alaska in this year’s primary) told some left wing radio talk show people, “That trooper should’ve been fired years ago!”

Comment by Eden | 2008-10-07 10:58:56

I thought she said he was inappropriate for his job (insubordination over requestion budget items she had cut), but she didn’t fire him, rather offered him another position (same pay, etc.) an he QUIT.

Nothing that he does will change minds so deep in denial and longing for the Obamamessiah to come save them.

Comment by Clara Barton | 2008-10-07 06:03:00

Hard core Oborgs won’t care cause nothing can bring down their dear leader. However, there are plenty of real people with real concerns and these people will finally see the connection. Before this, there has been no tangible connection. Could his Teflon have been scratched?

Comment by Ani | 2008-10-07 11:57:59

This unfortunately is true. There are those out there, die hard Democrats, who so hate Bush that they assume EVERY Republican is Bush. They will vote for Obama anyway.

They do not realize that Obama is Bush3.

I honestly believe O could eat Al Gore’s heart on National Television while boiling puppies and Nancy Pelosi would just get on camera and say “Well, at least he’s getting his protein” — and the media would concur.

It confounds me how much dirt, facts, mind you, they can hear about Obama and excuse him. No other politician would ever get a pass on all of this.

That being said, I have encountered a few who have had a “that’s the last straw” moment and decided not to vote for him. Others however, put their hands over their ears and start singing lalalalalalalalala.

All the others are bad, only St. Obama is good.

He’s even saying that McCain is trying to tear down his campaign. {gasp!} Oh no! Horrors! This can’t happen to THE ONE. That is really scary:

NAIROBI, Kenya — The American author of a book critical of Barack Obama is being detained in Kenya while his immigration status is checked, a senior immigration official said Tuesday.

Jerome Corsi, who wrote “The Obama Nation: Leftist Politics and the Cult of Personality,” was being held at immigration headquarters in Nairobi after police picked him up from his hotel Tuesday, said Carlos Maluta, a senior immigration official in charge of investigations.

“We still haven’t decided what to do with him,” Maluta told The Associated Press.
