Voter Fraud in Ohio; Judge Issues TRO Against Ohio Secretary of State

I find it unbelievable that a U.S. district judge must issue an order requiring that the Ohio Secretary of State verify registrations.

“Plaintiffs assert, and the court agrees, that it is hard to imagine a public interest more compelling than safeguarding the legitimacy of the election of the president of the United States,” [U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus, Ohio] wrote in his ruling.

Read more below this video from Greta’s Fox News show tonight, which contains some astonishing revelations. Of Note: Below the fold you’ll find more videos from Fox News on the Acorn revelations, including an interview today with Stanley Kurtz who has written highly influential recent articles on Bill Ayers and on Acorn. Of note: I think Fox News’s videos are getting slammed because some of these are appearing slowly, so please be patient. Thank you.

From the A.P. tonight at 12:30 a.m. ET:

Ohio secretary of state must verify registrations

By TERRY KINNEY – 1 hour ago

CINCINNATI (AP) — A federal judge on Thursday ordered Ohio’s top elections official to verify the identity of newly registered voters by matching them with other government documents.

U.S. District Judge George C. Smith in Columbus ruled that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner must perform verification required by the Help America Vote Act. That includes matching new registrants’ information against information in databases maintained by the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles or the Social Security Administration.

The order was the result of a lawsuit the Ohio Republican Party filed against Brunner, a Democrat. …

Here are more videos on the Acorn controversy from Fox News today. The first is an interview with Stanley Kurtz, and is titled “Planting Seeds of Disaster”:

This third video is titled “The Tip of the Iceberg”:

Please share any reports you are hearing, and any new stories about the Acorn investigation being demanded now by members of Congress.

A PERSONAL COMMENTARY: It’s very strange to me to find myself siding with the Republicans regarding Ohio, given what former Secretary of State Ken Blackwell did in 2004, but my world (and many of yours) is turned upside down.

But I am most concerned that Barack Obama cultivated longterm relationships with radicals who want to alter this nation in ways we do not know yet. I am further concerned that Obama has also cultivated relationships with groups like Acorn that have aided (abetted?) him in his quest to gain control of the nation through the presidency. We also know that Obama was an Acorn activist, led Acorn training sessions, and represented Acorn in court as the group’s attorney.

Again, I never thought I’d write something like that, but I do believe it is true.

As I wrote “Barack Obama, The Front Man” this morning, it all began to meld in my mind. How Barack Obama built those enduring relationships with radicals but, in order to make himself palatable to most Americans, has skillfully “scrubbed” his resume of those past associations. He has even tried to hide his chairmanship of the $50 million Chicago Annenberg Challenge, even though it is the sole executive experience he can claim.

The reason for Obama’s hiding of the chairmanship of CAC is because it was founded by Bill Ayers, who obtained all the funding, who created the CAC’s radical agenda, and who personally HIRED Barack Obama.

Therefore, it is up to each of us to inform everyone we know, and to make our explanations as crisp and clear as possible — before it is too late.

Has anyone seen this latest WSJ article? It’s hillarious.http://online.wsj.com/article/SB122360618747721991.html

And now, America, we introduce the Great Obama! The world's most gifted political magician! A thing of wonder. A thing of awe. Just watch him defy politics, economics, even gravity! (And hold your applause until the end, please.)

To kick off our show tonight, Mr. Obama will give 95% of American working families a tax cut, even though 40% of Americans today don't pay income taxes! How can our star enact such mathemagic? How can he "cut" zero? Abracadabra! It's called a "refundable tax credit." It involves the federal government taking money from those who do pay taxes, and writing checks to those who don't. Yes, yes, in the real world this is known as "welfare," but please try not to ruin the show.

As for that show, we'd love to invite you all back for next week's performance, when the Great Obama will thrill with new, amazing exploits. He will respect your Second Amendment rights even as he regulates firearms! He will renegotiate Nafta, even as he supports free trade! He will .

Patrick Fitgerald is working on a RICO case (so we are told) that will link Obama to the ACORN fraud.

That means that, if he is elected, Obama can’t take office.

The congress then chooses. President Pelosi, anyone?

Underage kids are being registered. But we all kew that long ago right?

Conn. looking into voter cards submitted by ACORNBy AP STAFF
Associated Press
October 10, 2008

HARTFORD, Conn. - The State Elections Enforcement Commission is looking into a complaint alleging that a community advocacy group submitted fraudulent voter registration cards in Bridgeport.

Joseph Borges, Bridgeport’s Republican registrar of voters, filed the complaint. He said he has found problems with numerous voter registration cards submitted by the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now, or ACORN, which works to register low-income people.

In one instance, he says a card was filled out for a 7-year-old girl, whose age was listed as 27 on the card.
ACORN filed more than 8,000 cards in Bridgeport. The complaint involves 10, but Borges said there were problems with many others.

The group, which said it has registered some 1.3 million voters nationwide this year, is facing similar allegations in several other states including Nevada, Wisconsin, North Carolina, New Mexico, Michigan, Ohio and Missouri.

ACORN works in low-income communities that trend Democratic. Republicans have used the reports of fraud to raise questions about the possibility of more widespread misdeeds and Election Day antics, such as using phony voter registrations to cast absentee ballots.

“This is a group that is knowingly and actively breaking the law across the country,” said Sean Cairncross, the chief counsel for the Republican National Committee, which held a conference call Thursday to discuss the fraud allegations.

Republicans say there are also problems with about 600 cards filed by ACORN in Stamford. But Nancy Nicolescu, a spokeswoman with the enforcement commission, said the agency had not received a complaint about Stamford as of Thursday afternoon.

ACORN said the complaints are part of a coordinated effort by Republicans to discredit ACORN voter registration drives across the nation. The groups officials have said there workers are paid and evaluated based on how many registrations they turn in.

“It is our policy to turn in all cards, even those we know to be problematic, to the local Board of Elections,” Sharon Patterson-Stallings, a member of the Connecticut ACORN Board, said in a written statement Thursday. “Any problematic cards that we identify are clearly designated by our quality control department before turn in.”

“We find it shameful that elections officials declined to meet with us to discuss these concerns and resolve issues while our drive was still underway, but have chosen now less than a month before the election to publicly attack our work,” she said.

Comment by Firefly | 2008-10-10 00:36:49

I read somewhere (sorry - can’t remember where) that Patrick Fitzgerald doesn’t like to be political or get involved in elections - and so, whoever wrote whatever I read thought that he wouldn’t do anything before this election.

What’s your take on that, Agust? Any merit to it?

We need so badly for 0bama to be indicted BEFORE this election! Is it even possible?

Comment by Agust304 | 2008-10-10 00:16:05

If you take money from one state and spend it in another then it is, if there is a crime, federal.

If one of the parties conspires to commit a crime than all parties involved are subjects.

That is part of RICO.

Dean, Obama and all go down if Patrick Fizgerald is really the person that is in charge of this case. It seems that he has an open ACORN case and he then is in charge of all 10 of the Fed raids on ACORN headquarters that happened this week.

We are talking about a man who hates deception more that we would hate stinking poop put up our nose. This man is the 21st Century Elliot Ness.

Jeeze - how long can the MSM IGNORE the ties between Obama and ACORN.

Stanley Kurtz proved Obama worked for ACORN in 1992 running “Project Vote.”

Obama then went on to run a voter registration project with Project VOTE in 1992 that made it possible for Carol Moseley Braun to win the Senate that year. Project VOTE delivered 50,000 newly registered voters in that campaign (ACORN delivered about 5000 of them).

Remember what I wrote last month?

“Watch Ohio.”

Well, there’s news breaking tonight — and it’s good news for election integrity. A federal district court judge has found Democrat Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner guilty of violating federal election laws. The ruling goes to the heart of the ACORN-centered voter fraud epidemic spreading across the country.

This is the second judgment against Brunner. Here’s the press release from the Ohio GOP:

Court Finds Brunner in Violation of Federal Law
Secretary of State appeals ruling, fights effort to validate registrations

(Columbus) - A federal court ruled tonight that Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner violated federal election laws by not taking adequate steps to validate the identity of newly registered voters.
The ruling from U.S. District Court Judge George C. Smith called the identification breakdown “a serious problem” and ordered Brunner to immediately comply with federal requirements to match voter registration data with the information in the Ohio Bureau of Motor Vehicles and Social Security Administration databases. The court accused Brunner of failing to provide county election administrators with “an effective way to access and review mismatches.” She immediately appealed the ruling.

“For some reason, Jennifer Brunner does not want these new registrations checked,” said Ohio Republican Party Deputy Chairman Kevin DeWine. “Her refusal to comply with federal law raises serious concerns about her ability to objectively oversee this election. It’s especially troubling in light of her connection to ACORN and that group’s stunning confession this week of fraudulent registration activity happening right here in Ohio.”

Brunner’s effort to fight the court order comes just two days after the Democrat activist group ACORN admitted to the Cuyahoga County Board of Elections that the group engages in fraudulent voter registration activity.

Ohio ACORN officials “blamed the elections board for not scrutinizing ACORN’s suspicious cards,” claiming the group “can’t be expected to catch everything.”
ACORN is facing similar inquires in other Ohio counties as well as 10 other states. Members of the group’s “voter-mobilization arm,” Project Vote, regularly advise Brunner on election strategy, even recently issuing a news release that claims credit for Brunner’s directive restricting challenges to suspected fraudulent voter registrations. Democrat presidential candidate Barack Obama also has strong ties to ACORN, working previously as an attorney and “leadership trainer” for the group.

Comment by JML | 2008-10-10 00:51:51

So: “Project Vote,” which advises Secretary of State Brunner would be the same “Project Vote” that Obama worked for.

Never thought I’d be cheering the GOP, but GO GET ‘EM, REPUBS!

Comment by kenoshaMarge | 2008-10-10 05:57:18

I never thought I’d be cheering Republicans either. But dammit corruption and voter fraud takes from all of us the right to have our vote count. It is no better to have a Democrat do it than to have a Republican guilty of the same thing.

It is so sad to see that in Ohio they have changed one corrupt elected official in the person of Blackwell for another in the person of Brunner.

Can’t we just have honest folks from either party? Is that too much to ask?

This is the very reason that I have come to loathe partisanship so much. The same actions that some condemn in the other party become acceptable in their own. Partisanship without integrity=hypocrisy, IMHO.

Comment by beebop | 2008-10-10 06:52:22

He (or she) who controls the vote controls the election. Up thread someone made a very good point. Unwilling to rely upon a FAIR AND OPEN ELECTION, 0bama has to cheat. He can only count upon those he has not insulted to vote for him and apparently 0donna’s plans for the “new new new Democratic party” without the traditional tradional tradional base isn’t looking as rosy as once thought. So they have to register Mary Poppins, the dead, and multiples in order to win. DISGRACEFUL. After this election, as an Ohioian, I am going to recommend a recall of Brunner.

Comment by Kristen | 2008-10-10 08:11:05

Regarding being an independent…

Until about a decade ago, I called myself an Independent. But the funny thing about that is that I always voted the Democratic ticket. I didn’t want to formally align myself with the party, because I thought that was only giving myself an excuse not to think. But “thinking like an Independent”, their people were always the people I managed to choose.

So, a decade ago, I signed on officially.

Today, am I an independent? Perhaps after this election, I will be. But for this election, I am partially independent.

I’m voting “country first” for Pres and VP, and I’m voting take-my-party-back the rest of the way down. Sometimes I’m choosing 3rd party, sometimes I’m choosing the Republican. The common theme is that this registered Democrat won’t be voting for a Democrat this year, even for Congress (which I was going to do at one point).

Comment by C.S. | 2008-10-10 06:33:39

I’m a strict Constitutionalist, never believed in the omniscience of political parties because they were never part of the Constitution.

But not “belonging” to one of the two sanctioned political parties means you are locked out of the nomination process which makes the whole election process a political monopoly that gives us George W. Bush and Barry/Barack Soertoro/Obama.

And you Senator Clinton supporters got a bitter lesson in politics this year because you were locked out of participation when your party usurped your votes when you didn’t vote the “right way” and nothing will change that until you regain control of your vote and that won’t happen as long as political parties can use your votes as proxies in their battle for power.

I wasn’t allowed to vote for Senator Clinton in the primaries because my state insists you belong to either the Democratic or Republican parties to exercise your right to vote. I believe that there would have been enough independents to make it impossible for Soertoro/Obama to have been given the nomination if we had been allowed to add our votes for Senator Clinton in the primaries instead of watching this fiasco from the sidelines.

Just wanted to warn you that with independence you will still end up voting in the general election for the candidate the two parties select for you but after watching what happened to your votes in the 2008 primaries I am more convinced than ever that being affiliated with a political party won’t give you a choice either.

Probably pressured into surrendering them or be disbarred for misconduct. By the way, did he ever pay the parking tickets? Probably not as he he figured they can be deducted from the tab that America still owes him.

Comment by C.S. | 2008-10-10 06:59:54

Now why would they do that; a lot of money went into that education for a middle class couple to just change course like that. Being a lawyer can be a lucrative business and 5 years would hardly pay the loans off when you have a spouse who only works part time, let alone allow for savings to buy a more than 6 million dollar mansion no matter what kind of a deal you got on it. And I did read that disbarment charges had been filed over false statements on the Barack Obama application and never saw anything about the outcome but maybe this is why.

But Soertoro/Obama gave his up during his campaign for president? He’s too busy campaigning to hold Senate Committee meetings on a nation we’re at war with (Afghanistan) but takes the time out of his busy schedule to surrender his license to practice law? Something is rotten in Denmark; Soertoro/Obama doesn’t do anything that isn’t in his best interest.

If it’s like nursing and psychology, every year along with the dues comes a long form about who you are and what you are doing now, and it must be signed. Fraudulent applications are grounds for legal action as well as loss of license. Maybe they didn’t want any checking on something.

The Secretary of State of Ohio, Jennifer Brunner has already filed an appeal so she doesn’t have to comply with the court order.

October 25th is the date when the actual ballots come out of the envelopes and it is the last day that identifying information can be pulled from the ballot. I guess up until that time the ballots and the registration are together in the same envelope and after October 25th they get separated. This HAS to be settled before October 25th or thousands of fraudulent votes for the Democrats will be counted.

Amazing how she has not seen any cases of voter fraud. I have the same response for her as I do for Obama, When you stop insulting my intellegence I will stop questioning yours (or maybe not).

Maybe we should all send her the youtube for the dominoes pizza worker right there in her jurisdiction? She must not tune into the news at 6:00 PM …

There is something very important that we’re missing here and, miraculously, it was pointed out by a Democratic Party spokesman on Fox News (an attorney but appearing as a DEM spokesman).

However, he might be surprised to realize what he really said. He was trying to tamp down one fire (registration fraud) but, in doing so, he opened the door to something much more serious.

He’s right, there are two things at work here: (1) Registration and (2) Voting.

Acorn is involved in registration and they’re registering all saints, pro football players, suddenly arisen dead people and Peter Pan. Fine. As he points out, these people (if they exist), in order to vote, have to show up on election day and actually vote in order for this to make any difference. Fine.

[*Note: This does not account for the dragnet drunks and junkies campaign being run in Ohio where people are picked up off the street and taken to register and vote at the same time, without any proof of residence. And guess who they're going to vote for -- them that took them down there and gave them a cookie, or whatever they're giving them. That's called "buying votes" where I come from but I guess Acorn thinks it's just "giving somebody a ride and a shot."]

But, here’s what we’re missing in the uproar [yes, harrassing people and registering the same person 77 times is wrong and, if they use different SSN's and phone numbers and addresses, they could register in different precincts and actually vote more than once so no, it's not "harmless" fraud as the DEMS and ACORN would like you to believe.

But, the other issue. VERY serious and very damning of the whole operation, and the former ACORN trainer and ACORN endorsement recipient, Obama, is this.

These people have had FEDERAL funds channelled to them. By Senator Obama and others. They would have channeled tens of millions of additional dollars to them through the finance rescue bill that was just passed if the Republicans, yes, including John McCain, hadn't caught them and stopped the train of gravy in its tracks.

People who say John McCain did nothing by coming back to Washington to talk with his party and the President and address the crisis have not done one very simple thing. Looked at the bill the Democrats wanted to pass, and even waved around claiming they had the votes to pass, even though they clearly didn't -- vs -- the bill that did pass.

ACORN is not in it.

But they tried. And ACORN on Capitol Hill is none other than Chief Acorn, Barack Obama.

So, look beyond the high-shock-value story about these registrations and realize what's behind this thing. A nationwide organization (remember the term "organizer" -- that's where Obama cut his teeth -- if he has a skill, this is it -- and ACORN is his organization army) dedicated to mobilizing Democrat voters, registering, collection data, calling, rallying, mobilizing.

POINT: Do you not remember who it was who showed up in all those caucus states and took over the caucuses, intimidating people, locking people out, busing people in, rounding up college kids, pumping up the crowd and -- basically -- delivering caucus states to Obama? It was ACORN, people.

CONCLUSION: This is one of the grandest scams in the history of American politics. Barack Obama has managed to arrange for the federal government itself, i.e., the American taxpayer, to funnel money to his voter canvasing, voter registration and get-out-the-vote campaign.

ACORN, for all intents and purposes, might as well be part of the Obama campaign staff. And, yet, they are being paid, in part, by millions of dollars of federal money.

ACORN = OBAMA = ACORN

I close with a quote from Obama himself, speaking to ACORN leaders in November, 2007:

"I come out of a grassroots organizing background. That's what I did for three and half years before I went to law school. That's the reason I moved to Chicago was to organize. So this is something that I know personally, the work you do, the importance of it. I've been fighting alongside ACORN on issues you care about my entire career. Even before I was an elected official, when I ran Project Vote voter registration drive in Illinois, ACORN was smack dab in the middle of it, and we appreciate your work.”

The Acorn does not fall far from the tree.

Past is Prologue.

[Thanks for that quote, Joe Biden. Though it was inane when you said it, it might well become the theme of the McCain/Palin campaign.]

Yep!

This is why McCain temporarily suspended his campaign. To help stop the ACORN gravy train from passing through that original $700 billion bailout bill. And noticed that the majority of those congressional Democrats tried their DAMNDEST to pass that bill in a hurry to keep the public from catching wise to the huge ACORN payout included in it!!

I shouldn’t be shocked. But I am.

It all makes sense now. This is truly sickening!

Don’t be shocked by anything the”one” does. He was indoctrinated well all his life and he knows all the tricks. The people behind him are powerful, vicious and cunning. It’s like a disease running rampant throughout the country, and we’ve got to keep fighting it up to the last minute.

Where’s Jimmy Carter?

I like how the guy was saying that the same allegations were made in 2004 and there were only so many convictions. Well, Gee…one would think we would have learned something from 2004! But, noooo. He was talking about people showing up to vote and such but what about absentee ballots?

Just wondering, what are you all doing to help McCain? I’m talking to all my friends back in NY, trying to motivate them to vote. They feel McCain can’t win, and feel defeated. I explain that if a high percentage of registered voters who don’t want Obama get off their ass and vote, we’ll win.

Comment by sayitisntso | 2008-10-10 02:45:09

McCain is in the cat bird’s seat now. Not to worry. The One has lost his sheen.

Oh, and to the person who argued with me last night about Rush, he was saying at the end to vote for Obama because he was the weaker opponent in the election. This, however, was long after dems through Hillary under the bus.

And the Obama camp did officially complain about Rush’s antics in Operation Chaos.

BTW, Fitzgerald might be the finest, toughest federal prosecutor in the country (among a number of good ones). And reputed to be as straight as they come. He will not be hurried. And he will not be bullied.

Comment by ritamary | 2008-10-10 02:45:23

If Fitzgerald won’t be hurried he may very well find himself unemployed in a few months. I believe a big part of the Illinois political machine support for Obama is because they desperately want to stop Fitzgerald’s investigation.

USA definitely needs a national registration of all citizens eligible to vote. 6 weeks before an election (local, state ,nat) they must supply/confirm their addresses.

What is so HARD about that? Every other decent democracy does it.

When & if a citizen turns up to vote they get verified by telling name & address .The election official just verifies with a dob question.

How hard is that? .

BTW -in my country one MUST prove they voted -informal is ok -

Or we get FINED!

Voter scamming is almost non existent.
