Debate #3 (Comment Here) [CLOSING NOW]

CLOSING COMMENTS IN THIS THREAD. GO to SECOND THREAD!

Original post: YES! WE ARE STREAMING THE DEBATE LIVE! In the post just above. So you’ll want to open TWO windows — one to watch the debate live at our blog (with no comments allowed), and the second window to post comments here.

The blogosphere is still wasting time dissecting the API report about Michelle Obama … Thomas Frank declares Bill Ayers his “friend” and a “model citizen” … Ben Smith is stunned by a letter he got from a Republican consultant who has concluded people want to vote for Obama even if they suspect he’s a terrorist (it’s an astonishing letter, and it may be as fictional as I suspect the API story is) … and Barack Obama thinks he’s Robin Hood … and in the midst of that miasmic swamp, we shall stretch out on our sofas and hopefully — this time — stay awake throughout the debate.

Share your thoughts and, if you’re really a fast typist, try your hand at live-blogging!

Tomorrows Headline: Obama wins Debate by showing up.

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-10-15 19:46:01

By showing up and standing mute. That way McCain can’t rattle that famous Obama cool demeanor.

Comment by PKJAYNE | 2008-10-15 19:46:14

Bwahahahaha I love your humor jeremiah.

I so want to see this headline……..

Hey Barry, Who’s ya Daddy? Looks like Grandpa is.

Looks like a full moon ya know :D

Comment by AF catfish | 2008-10-15 19:54:06

McCain, by answering questions, will be deemed too erratic.

Comment by Jeremiah God Damn Barack Amerikkka Wright | 2008-10-15 20:02:34

If John McCain speaks they will say he is desperate.

If John McCain moves his lips they will say he is erratic.

If Barack Obama Farts they will say the Gas shortage is over and sing hallelujia!

Comment by PKJAYNE | 2008-10-15 20:03:02

Thank you! I’m excited about trying this! Are you all okay with the set-up? Where we use two windows — one for viewing and one for comments?

Comment by Touchet | 2008-10-15 19:54:53

Yes, that fine.

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 19:38:10

I hope that Barack Obama and John McCain get into a fist fight.

That is the only way it will be interesting.

Comment by Ferd McBerfle | 2008-10-15 19:46:07

Oblockhead couldn’t fight his way out of a revolving door.

Comment by PKJAYNE | 2008-10-15 19:54:01

Evening Ferd! cardboard cutouts are kind of useless!!!!!

Comment by Ferd McBerfle | 2008-10-15 19:59:25

Evening PK.

It’s always fun to see a stuttering carboard cut-out try to debate. I guess the MSM is into paper products and recycling. Most of the stuff coming out of Oblockhead’s mouth is rubbish and should be recycled. But I’m going to *try* to watch it tonight. I’ve had my gin and tonic and am ready to go.

Comment by PKJAYNE | 2008-10-15 20:04:11

Oblockhead would only pander to McCain, “I’ll give you Secretary of Defense if you rpomise not to beat me up.”

Comment by Maverick | 2008-10-15 19:39:06

Obama will say…”That’s what I said. It was their intention becausse those were not working so they did what they could for them and we will do the same as we know they want and need it and I will propose to do it for them since the notion that, somehow they want it is good enough, so so so I say when I do it for them they will be be be somewhat somehow better off and those who don’t think that can be on the wrong side of them.

Comment by xax | 2008-10-15 19:40:21

You got the er, ah, uh, part down pat. LMAO

Comment by Juliet16 | 2008-10-15 19:42:00

Yes, I DEFINITELY think the Ben Smith thing is hokey.

I bet one of the following was true:
(1) the focus group was not well chosen and those people were probably lifelong dem-voters — even if they were technically not registered as Democrats
(2) other folks in the same focus group not interview all went for McCain
(3) this event was an outlier… and that is the reason the Republican pollster thought it was so amusing
(4) 10 other focus groups were shown the same ads and they all decided to vote for McCain
(5) It’s all BS not even true Smith made it all up.

Ben Smith just wants to demoralize McCain/Palin voters — hopes they’ll think it is useless and stay home on election day… then Smith’s man-crush on Obama will allow him to send a tingle up his leg forever and ever and ever….

Comment by hadenough | 2008-10-15 19:42:34

During the last debate obama was too cowardly to bring up ayers. Will obama man up tonight? Eight ball says no.

Comment by joseph Hooper | 2008-10-15 19:51:32

BO will not bring it up and if McCAin does he (BO) will say that’s not the most important issue. He’ll avoid it in a rehearsed “you’re avoiding the real issue” way

Comment by Maverick | 2008-10-15 19:43:09

Snojob Fraudbama will trip on his tongue and say he meant to do that..

At last….listening to CNN has got me nauseous.

Comment by Elle | 2008-10-15 19:56:01

Feel the same when it comes to CNN but rest assured
I will not give them the rating of watching the debate on their network.
Every time someone even remoteny mentions something ppositive about McCain ,CNN’s so called panel interupst in all other panel member attempting to overscream the good messanger.Ha Ha what a joke of balanced reporting .

Comment by NoBAma | 2008-10-15 19:47:23

McCain needs to slap Obama across the face and say that’s from all the Hillary voters.
They will be sitting very close together tonight so it is all possible.

Comment by scorbs | 2008-10-15 19:49:31

Dennis Miller was great on O’Reilly: McCain should say he’s for cutting pork and keeping the country safe. At a very dangerous point in the country’s history, don’t hand the country off to a 47-year-old spinner.

Comment by joseph Hooper | 2008-10-15 20:01:28

A “47-year-old spinner” is one thing… JFK was young but handing it over to a man that is connected to people like Ayers and ACORN and I forget his name but the guy that raised money for BO to get into Law school. He is not guilty by association but by participation

Anyway nobody worry about obama Tonight.

No matter what happens in this debate…

…even if he pulls out a dead chicken and does a dance honoring satan while farting the theme to bonanza…

…he still has his uncontested half hour variety gong show coming up on all the major networks on October 29 from 8-8:30 where he will be able to teleprompt to the american people all the things they need to know to fall in line with Dear Leader’s vision and join with the rest of their converted comrades as Obama leads us to a new golden age of a kinder gentler socialism in the United States of Barack Omerica.

I am getting concerned about the way this election is going, but I will continue to fight.

Dammitall! Soledad O’Brien on CNN has a focus group of alleged “persuadable” voters; SEVEN Republicans vs. 11 or 12 Democrats and Idunnohowmany Independents. Yes, Soledad, I was, in fact, born yesterday.

I just got a call from a pollster at 8:56 EST.

They asked if I watched the last debate.

I said No.

They then asked who i thought won, I said Obama.

They asked why.

I said because John McCain is racist.

The pollster was very pleased with my answers.

My fantasy is that McCain halfway through drops the info bomb on Barry. He’s got all of the info. - fake birth certificate, Wright, Ayers, arrest papers for Barry violating the Logan Act. The whole 9 yards. Bobo is speechless as he’s led away in handcuffs.

Again my debate fantasy.

Since Obama speaks almost twice as fast as McCain, he’s able to get in more arguments and points in the allotted time.

Comment by Mandelay | 2008-10-15 20:10:11

LOL! Yes, and he speaks with such speed his words cannot be digested by listeners. They are left with such an amazing feeling, hearing the fast talkin’ guy. But they can’t tell you what the hell he’s means by what he’s saying.

McCain needs to challenge Obama on his “Tax Cuts” - everyone who’s looked at Obama’s plan knows this is no tax cut…. Our taxes will go up with Obama’s plan.

Comment by joseph Hooper | 2008-10-15 20:18:42

Comment by Touchet | 2008-10-15 20:10:07

What does he define as a “crisis”. If he just opens up the IRA then the economy will tank faster than a lead ball. That money is for retirement, and the reason it works is because its an investment, not a savings account.

This will effectively end the IRA. I don’t think that is his purpose. In otherwords, its bullshit and won’t happen.

Comment by Hap Hazard | 2008-10-15 20:10:40

McCain lack basic, fundamental debating skills. He can’t bring himself to even point out the shortcomings of Obama in a forceful and convincing way, even his Joe the plumber routine falls short. WE have to drag this man across the finish line, but that is what we will do I hope fervently..

Comment by Jason | 2008-10-15 20:13:01

McCain is already lame. He just doesn’t know how to articulate a point with any gutso.

He mentioned the plumber…WITHOUT SAYING THE WORD “SOCIALISM!”

He’s let us down already. McCain, what the hell is wrong with you? You just dropped your biggest bomb too early and it misfired. Obama’s gums are already flapping away and you’ve lost it.

But wait - he’s mentioned “class warfare!” He’s picking up the pace! But he DIDN’T SAY “SOCIALISM!”

Obama is now repeating the same crap, missing the point. Whining on about the mega-rich, when the subject is “raising taxes on a plumber.”

Comment by WasLNbutNoBamaBotsKeepStealingMyName | 2008-10-15 20:13:34

Go, Mac, Go!

Comment by Carol | 2008-10-15 20:13:46

John is digging Obama on Joe the plumber and small businesses. Go John. Joe doesn’t need to pay more taxes to give to Obama to spread the wealth around.

God, Obama is still talking about the 95% tax cuts. Obama so far is not saying anything new.

Comment by SUGAR | 2008-10-15 20:14:16
