Obama’s breathtakingly bad judgment in choosing friends seems to know no end. First it was the crude, anti-white Jeremiah Wright. Next came Obama’s benefactor, the corrupt Tony Rezko. Then it was America’s favorite terrorists couple, Ayers and Dohrn. Now Obama is listing on his Web page as a “testimonial” of “People of Faith” a woman who is a friend and ally of the rabidly anti-semitic, anti-white leader of the Nation of Islam, Louis Farrakhan. The person in question is Rev. Willie Barrow, now a superdelegate and co-chairperson of Jesse Jackson’s Rainbow Coalition-Operation Push. But Willie Barrow is not just a friend of Louis Farrakhan. In what’s becoming a disturbing pattern — including Rev. Wright and Louis Farrakhan traveling to Libya together in 1984 and meeting with Mouammar Kadhafi — Barrow is a known supporter of the PLO, in addition to being a friend and ally of Farrakhan. In 1988, in a gesture towards Jesse Jackson and his supporters, Michael Dukakis appointed Barrow and two others to the Democratic National Committee. The New York Times reported at the time that:

A group of House Republicans charged today that Gov. Michael S. Dukakis, the Democratic Presidential nominee, had appointed three ”anti-Israeli, pro-Palestinian” members to the party’s ruling body and challenged him to dismiss them.Representative Norman F. Lent, Republican of Nassau, said the three members were appointed to the 400-member Democratic National Committee after the party’s convention last July in Atlanta as a gesture of conciliation to the Rev. Jesse Jackson, the defeated Presidential contender.Mr. Lent identified the three as the Rev. Willie Barrow, executive director of Mr. Jackson’s Chicago-based Operation PUSH; Robert Farrell, a Los Angeles City Councilman and close Jackson associate, and Ruth Ann Skaff of Houston, whom he said was a spokeswoman for the pro-Palestinian Ad Hoc Committtee on Lebanon.Mr. Lent said that Mrs. Barrow and Mr. Farrell were supporters of the Rev. Louis Farrakhan, a radical Muslim leader who has made anti-Semitic statements. He said Ms. Skaff had led anti-Israel demonstrations.

Barrow’s fondness for Farrakhan — a man who describes Jews as Satanic — is best summoned up in this quote:

Mrs. Barrow was quoted in a 1985 article in The Washington Post as saying, ”I love my brother, Minister Louis Farrakhan. The devil don’t like it, Chicago don’t like it, the world don’t like it, but we love it.”

Not only does Barrow love Farrakhan, he returns the love to Barrow:

And Farrakhan has loved Willie Barrow back, affectionately quoting her in his sermons. During the recent NOI scandal Willie Barrow served as the chair of the Commission on Discrimination and Hate Crimes. When the Nation of Islam Minister of Protocol Claudette Marie Muhammad joined the commission, its Jewish members resigned after Muhammad invited other commissioners to a speech by Farrakhan filled with anti-semitic invective. Barrow, however true to her ties with the Nation of Islam, continued to defend Muhammad and condemn the commissioners who resigned.

It’s now beyond doubt that Obama has surrounded himself with the leaders of the America-hating neo-left movement, a twisted form of “liberalism” which embraces and promotes anti-white and anti-Semitic rhetoric, fomenting resentment and demanding payback . Is America willing to accept and can it endure the moral relativism which Obama would bring to the White House? What would be the cost?

The recent article in the New Yorker about Barack Obama’s rise in Chicago politics has been overshadowed, of course, by the controversy surrounding the satirical cover illustration of the same issue. This is unfortunate in that the piece has much good information about Obama’s past. Although it is still far too fawning with respect to its analysis of his political career, the article does fill in some blanks about his checkered past.

For example, the overriding theme of the piece is Obama’s unbridled ambition. Early during his brief, three year tenure as a community organizer–whatever THAT job entailed—Obama openly discussed his long-term and very, very large political ambitions with even his newest acquaintances.

After connecting up with “king makers” like his employer, Allison Davis, and Annenberg Challenge associate, William Ayers, Obama found an opening when the Illinois state Senator from his neighborhood, Alice Palmer, decided to run for the U.S. House of Representatives. Ironically, the seat Palmer sought was open due to recently disclosed past corruption on the part of the person that had previously held it and she was beaten in the Democratic primary to fill the seat by (of all people) Jesse Jackson’s son. (more…)

1) You’re probably not going to be surprised, but guess what? It’s gonna be McCain’s fault if Obama gets more coverage overseas than McCain did! Rather than address the issue of media gorging on the forthcoming Obama “world tour” by sending all three anchors, Newsweek, in the person of Andrew Romano says it’s McCain’s fault for not treating the media better.

But there’s a big difference between McCain’s trip and the one Obama will embark on next week to Europe and the Middle East. In what could be interpreted now as a possible strategic misstep, the McCain campaign chose not to take reporters along for the ride, forcing media outlets who wanted to cover the newly elected GOP nominee to travel on their own without any guarantee of getting anywhere near the senator. The small group of scribes who made the trek (Newsweek chose not to) faced a logistical nightmare, from arranging last-minute foreign visas to struggling to keep up with McCain as they flew commercially from stop to stop. (McCain traveled by a military aircraft.) In contrast, the Obama campaign is inviting reporters on its tour, handling all the logistics–including transportation–for what will certainly be a much larger press corps than usual.

My head is spinning at the reality that Obama is the one the DNC party bosses are pushing forward as the nominee of the party, despite all of the evidence that he is not built for the job of leader of the free world and that he doesn’t have the experience to boot. He will never beat John McCain. This is McCain’s to lose and with the recent news that the RNC is oiling up their big guns, it is all but a "foregone conclusion" that either Hillary Clinton or John McCain will be the next president of this nation.

A New York Times article by Serge Kovaleski, Obama’s Organizing Years, Guiding Others and Finding Himself, attempts to speak well of Obama but it appears that Mr. Kovaleski is willing to do what a journalist is supposed to do–tell the truth. In the article, Kovaleski writes of Obama’s "organizing years" (all three of them…) in Chicago [Kovaleski interviewed Gerald Kellman, the man who hired Obama for the job]:

It is clear that the benefit of those years to Mr. Obama dwarfs what he accomplished. Mr. Kellman said that Mr. Obama had built the organization’s following among needy residents and black ministers, but “on issues, we made very little progress, nothing that would change poverty on the South Side of Chicago.”

Obama author Andy Martin on how Obama fumbled the New Yorker cover story

“Senator Obama, I knew Jack Kennedy, and you’re no Jack Kennedy”

(NEW YORK) (July 17, 2008) One of the great lines in American political history is Senator Lloyd’s Bentsen’s 1988 retort to Senator Dan Quayle, “Senator, I knew Jack Kennedy, and you’re no Jack Kenney.” Senator Barack Obama daydreams that he’s the “new Kennedy.” In your dreams.

The remnants of the Kennedy dynasty have pronounced Obama “the new Kennedy.” Defunct dynasties are like that. They still want to pretend the dynasty lives. But the entire Kennedy/Obama spectacle is farce and charade. Obama is a great actor and entertainer. Kennedy was neither. On the contrary, Kennedy had great personal charm and incredible grace. Obama is the spitting image of the fictional Sammy Glick, not the legendary John F. Kennedy.

I have learned a few lessons about grace along the way, and I vividly remember one lesson administered by Senator Charles Percy in 1978 on a snowy day at the Palmer House in Chicago. Senator Percy could not have been more gracious and more welcoming, and humorous, in introducing me to his audience. (more…)

One thing they omit was that the challenging of petitions was done on the last day depriving the others of a response. Obama sent in a team of lawyers and they stayed until everyone was off the ballot, not just Alice Palmer, but everyone.

Perhaps they are just out of the loop, the Chicago loop, that is. What could you have expected when he moved operational control of the DNC from Washington DC to Chicago? And if you think it will get better, it won’t. You keeping on seeing what you want to see in Barack Obama and not what is really there. Obama can change his policies with the wind, he can’t change who he is, at least not without a lot of therapy.

I have long argued that Obama is the political reincarnation of Richard Nixon. Sure their politics are different, but their personae are not. Richard Nixon was a control freak, so is Barack Obama. Nixon would do whatever it took to win lying and pandering his way into office, Barack is no different.

Nixon broke into a psychiatrist’s office to get dirt on his opponent’s, while innuendo that likely emanated from within the Obama campaign undid the candidacies of Blair Hull (domestic abuse allegations) and Jack Ryan (sexual impropriety allegations). Nixon was a narcissist, Obama is hardly any less of one.

I see a very different Obama. I see one who threw four people off a ballot so he could run unopposed. I see someone who played the race card over and over again. I see someone who has been nothing but duplicitous.

I see someone who tells the American public that his campaign takes no money from lobbyists and then rakes in millions from lobbying firms via the back door. His political 180s are nothing new. I have said this before there is no there there in Barack Obama. He has no core convictions other than his own political welfare.

The repudiation of Barack Obama continues unabated. It is something so unprecedented in American history to have so many rebel against the presumptive Democratic nominee even before he has been nominated.

Yet another anti-Obama website has been launched and this one is by former supporters of the very junior Senator from Illinois.

The Chicago Tribune’s columnist John Kass picks up the story of Obama’s supporters now wincing.

When Jesse Jackson’s Castrato-gate or the Barack Obama Nuts Controversy or whatever you want to call it erupted last week—as captured by the hot microphones of Fox News—terrible cries of pain went unnoticed.

Not from Obama, who, as presidential historians will tell us after his inauguration in January, was the great beneficiary of the rhetorical (and never actually attempted) Jacksonian castration, and no cries from Jackson, either.

Jackson’s too busy to shriek. He’s suffering the ambition of African-American politicos eager to replace him as America’s race broker. And he’s been hooted down in the style of pre-Revolutionary France, by white liberals who once feared him, though they no longer feel compelled to feign interest in Jackson’s ridiculous rhymes.

The cries of pain came not from Obama or Jackson but from the American political left, from scribes and liberal editorial writers and broadcast analysts and eager bloggers. The true believers who evangelized that Obama would transcend politics as we knew it are suffering a Barackian hangover.
