Yes, it seems that the chickens are starting to come home to roost for some Obama worshippers, uh, I mean, supporters. Those of us using the analytical portion of our brains knew that Obama’s hype was too good to be true, but apparently, these workers for Obama are learning a harsh reality - he used them (H/T to No Quarter reader, tzada, for this link). Yes, according to this article, Obama Campaign Workers Angry Over Unpaid Wages: Former Obama workers claim they were short-changed, Obama workers are experiencing emotions I bet they didn’t count on after pounding the pavement working for The One: Anger:

Lines were long and tempers flared Wednesday not to vote but to get paid for canvassing for Barack Obama. Several hundred people are still waiting to get their pay for last-minute campaigning. Police were called to the Obama campaign office on North Meridian Street downtown (Indianapolis) to control the crowd.

The line was long and the crowd was angry at times.

“I want my money today! It’s my money. I want it right now!” yelled one former campaign worker.

A former spokesman for the Obama campaign said 375 people were hired as part of the Vote Corps program and said people signed up to work three-hour shifts at a time. Three hours of canvassing got workers a $30 pre-paid Visa card.

The workers showed up to get their cards Wednesday morning at 10:00 am.

“There was a note on the door saying 1:00 pm and then at 1:20 pm everybody was like why is nobody here. They just got here and they’re trying to get it organized,” said Heather Richards, a former campaign worker.

Well, golly gee willikers - what a surprise! People are having a hard time getting Obama to fulfill his obligations! You’d think with the gazillion dollars from illegal contributions he received, he would have plenty of green to spread among his people, maybe even some bonuses for jobs well done for the 375 workers who came to get paid. If you thought that, you’d be wrong!

Eventually people did start getting paid, but some said they were missing hours and told to fill in paperwork making their claim and that eventually they would get a check in the mail.

“Still that’s not right. I’m disappointed. I’m glad for the president, but I’m disappointed in this system,” said Diane Jefferson, temporary campaign worker.

“It should have been $480. It’s $230,” said Imani Sankofa.

“They gave us $10 an hour. So we added it. I added up all the hours so it was supposed to be at least $120. All I get is $90,” said Charles Martin.

“I worked nine hours a day for 4 days and got paid half of what I should have earned,” said Randall Waldon.

Some people weren’t satisfied with filling out a claim form for money they felt was still due to them.

“They say that they gonna call you or they going to mail it to you, but I don’t know. We’ll see what happens,” said Antron Grose.

“Talking about they’ll mail it to us. I ain’t worried about that, man. They’re not going to mail nothin’,” said Martin.

Seems Johnny Mac was right about the Redistributor in Chief - he wants to redistribute YOUR funds, not his! So, you just keep sitting by that mailbox and phone - I am SURE they will be rushing to get you the money for which you worked. Ahem. (And given this, I wonder how well the Obama camp is going to do issuing those 1099s in January?)

And if I was the woman in this video below (from No Quarter Election Thread), I sure wouldn’t be holding my breath:

If Obama is having, um, difficulties actually paying his employees wages earned, I’m not sure why this woman thinks Obama is going to do ANYTHING for her, much less pay her mortgage and her gas. Wow - it is just hard to fathom the gullibility of some people…

And in more news in the “Welcome To The Real World” round-up, the passing of Proposition 8 in CA and Amendment 2 in FL were a rude awakening to many. Here’s the thing - while all those Hollywood types (talking to YOU, Ellen) were singing Obama’s praises, they, like so many others, ignored that the bottom line of his pandering message was that HE IS AGAINST SAME SEX MARRIAGE. He has said that time and time again including in his wishy-washy message that he doesn’t think Prop 8 should pass in CA, but that he is against same sex marriage all the same. So, guess what? It passed, because a lot of his constituents, especially African Americans and the evangelicals he courted, are against same sex marriage. Had any of those mindless people BOTHERED to actually look at his “words, just words,” they would have known that.

But no, Cher, and Ben Affleck, and Matt Damon, and Wanda Sykes, and all of those people wanted to go with the cool guy, so they, along with the REST of Democrats, turned a deaf ear and blind eye to the shenanigans Obama was using in caucus states and that the DNC used to take votes away from Hillary, both in FL and MI, as well as the COnvention. I don’t think the constituents SHE courted would have voted FOR Proposition 8. Oh well - the GLBT community, and women, have all been thrown under the bus for the ascension of THE ONE. Hope you’re happy now because you helped to make it happen!

Oh, wait - those people in CA aren’t. But all those folks protesting there can just get over themselves - they have no one but themselves to blame for the passage of Proposition 8. Had any of the big wigs there stood up and cried foul over the RBC’s decision, or DEMANDED a fair, DEMOCRATIC Convention, I doubt Prop 8 would have passed. So, tough, all you Hollywood folks who oohed and ahed over The One in Denver and had no qualms with the DNP violating its own rules - you did it to yourselves. Hate it for ya, Ellen (and Portia),and the other 18,000 people affected by this, but hey - maybe you shouldn’t have been pushing Obama so much during your show. And maybe all you people should have actually done your freakin’ homework on what was happening in the election.

While I am at it, over 62% of Floridians voted FOR Amendment 2 voted FOR Amendment 2, to Constitutionalize discrimination in their state. In other words, a whole bunch of Democrats voted for that, too. Thanks so much, all you wonderful folks - in both states. What a healing uniter Obama is, isn’t he?? Hey, that’s what they keep claiming, so it HAS to be true - just not for women in general and GLBT people in particular. Whatever.

Anyway, who cares about social justice for GLBT and women now that we have the first biracial president-elect? Who cares about ACORN using TAXPAYING DOLLARS to commit massive amounts of voter fraud, and how they will surely get even more money from and ALL Democratic government (I mean, really - if they were already getting millions of dollars before, as well as new-mortgage kickbacks, and Chris Dodd wanting to give them BILLIONS of dollars from the bailout repayment, who the hell is going to stop them NOW?)? Who cares that their GOTV arms committed voter fraud for Obama and that his followers voted more than once? What’s the big deal, anyway?

Sadly, that is the real world we have now, where caucus fraud will be institutionalized, voter fraud will continue to be tolerated, even excused by people who should know better (that is, the people who, thanks to all of the “poor little ACORN” posts by the NY Times, think ACORN is being beset upon by Republicans and they aren’t doing anything wrong - even when Democrats admit they are. Bob Herbert is especially guilty of this tactic. Apparently, these readers have missed his *subtle* Obama bias…), and electronic voting machines will continue to flip ballots. That is our world today, because really - who is going to stand up against caucus fraud now? Not the Democrats, who KNEW it was occurring but said nothing, or the MSM, which ignored Clinton’s attempts to inform them about documented fraud. Who’s going to stand up against voter fraud? Not Democrats - that would cast aspersions on THE ONE. Who will stand up for us?

And who will stand up for women? Not the Democrats, that’s for sure. They made a sport of misogyny this election, and haven’t let up yet on Governor Palin, either. They not only stood by while Obama laid claim to Clinton’s ideas, but were in a wicked big hurry to shove her out of the race (once she created those policies, of course, because what would Obama have done if he had to create them on his own??). Oh, and they didn’t just shove her out, they treated her with contempt, as if she had no right to come to the party. They treated her in a way they have never treated ANY man, even one as inexperienced and unqualified as, well, Obama. No, they not only stood by, they engaged in, and encouraged, the misogyny we experienced this year (did anyone EVER hear Obama speak out against hanging Sarah Palin in effigy in West Hollywood? No. Ever hear him speak out against the misogyny directed at Clinton? No. No, he engaged in it, not fought against it.). I bet Obama wishes he had stolen Clinton’s economic proposal now that the Dow tanked the worst after his election of any time in history precisely because they DON’T know where he stands. That can’t be a good omen for things to come, and rubs a bit of the shine off of his “win.” I reckon he shouldn’t have been so dismissive when John McCain claimed her plan (and actually gave her credit, something Obama has NEVER done). Oh, well!

It’s going to be some four years here in the real world, with more rude awakenings, more expectations dashed, and more dreams broken. Heck, Obama’s workers are already experiencing that, as well as his anti-war supporters with the choice of Emmanuel as his Chief of Staff. Well, time to wake up, people, to what the rest of us have always known - Obama is a con man, and you fell for it. Don’t waste your time waiting by the phone or the mail-box for your wages, or hope of mortgages and gas paid (!!!). It ain’t gonna happen - but we could have told you that…Oh, wait - we did tell you that, and you didn’t believe us. How about now?? It hasn’t even been two days since the election, and look at the shine fade…

>Have you ever wondered what happens to those flags after the convention? The mystery is solved… and RedState has all the proof in pictures. RedState gave us a bird’s eye view of the convention trash when all the folks left the Pepsi Center….when the speeches were done…..when they all headed to the over the top coronation at Invesco Field. It wasn’t a pretty sight, so much for recycling.

I know for a fact there is a right way and an incorrect way to dispose of the American flag….. and throwing it away isn’t the right way. So here goes a lesson on disposing of the American Flag…..American Flag 101 for all good citizens who threw their flags in the trash….

According to the USA Flag Site a flag should be burned or destroyed in a dignified manner. Okay that is Flag Etiquette for Dummies! (It is possible that veterans organizations like the American Legion may offer disposal of flags as well.)

The problem with these flags they were neither tattered or torn, still in good shape as a matter fact, it is just that people just discarded them without a thought! Shame on the folks at the Democratic Convention. I know you all sleep better at night because of that flag and those who defend it! Too bad you have no respect for it!

(I was in awe as I stepped through the security gate!) I know you are all wondering, how did she do that? It was so easy even the unity jacka$$ could do it.

We decided to make it a “black ops” mission. We invaded the Pepsi Center. We borrowed credentials from delegates, DNC members and others. It was a gas. The funny thing is that the Secret Service stood right near us while we “borrowed” the credentials. Some had arena credentials and others had floor credentials. Two group members spent time in a beer company’s sky box.

I had the opportunity to meet Alan Colmes (Sean Hannity) would have been more fun to meet. Alan Colmes and I e-mailed for sometime about veterans issues and the VA. I introduced myself. I reminded him of our e-mails. He said “I think I remember”. I am sure he didn’t but….I would have found him more credible if he didn’t feel the need to lie!

It was a momentous evening as Hillary was about to speak. Her speech was wonderful but heartbreaking at times. I alternately laughed and cried. The tears were the heaviest when she talked about the “Sisterhood of the Traveling Pantsuits”. I was a member of that sisterhood. I traveled through four states for her, the last was Montana. That was the most incredible experience for me since I ran the Veterans for Hillary Tour.

As I had a chance to really observe the Pepsi Center one thing struck besides the fact the venue was much too small (I think the fire marshall should have just kicked everyone out!) and that was its inaccessibility to disabled folks. At the entrances to the arena seats I counted a very few wheelchairs. Got me wondering….. Does the DNC really encourage participation by disabled folks? I guess they really care about the Affirmative Action written into their own delegation selection process! (NOT!)

I was discussing the sad state of affairs about disabled access when I was accosted and shoved away from a camera crew by a super delegate in a bright lime green suit! (And these people are picked to represent the Democratic Party!!) that was trying to interview me. What a nasty lady? The Democratic Party needs to invest in a Miss Manners book or two, make it mandatory reading for the next convention!

When Hillary’s speech ended it was like a herd of unity jackasses running for the nearest exits. It was almost as if someone had fired the gun at the start of a jacka$$ race! If you weren’t moving fast enough, the people literally body checked evryone in their way. Hey when did RUDE become a central part of the Democratic Party?

I know it all seems a little over the top! It gets even better….. I am waiting outside while the group reformed, when I suddenly turned around and ended up looking Dick Morris right in the eyes. I stuck my hand out….introduced myself, shook his (and bit my tongue….I knew something irrelevant and not nice was going to come out of my mouth)….. well I smiled, stumbling over my words and said I watch you all the time…. And the whole time all I was thinking why couldn’t I meet Terry McAuliffe or even the Big Dawg?

My night at the Pepsi Center was wonderful! I enjoyed Hillary’s speech but why oh why did I have to meet Dick Morris of all people?

But then, who would expect any less from the preening, prancing, self-loving Lord Obama when he lowers himself to talk to the dirty masses?

DENVER (Reuters) - Democratic presidential candidate Barack Obama’s big speech on Thursday night will be delivered from an elaborate columned stage resembling a miniature Greek temple.

The stage, similar to structures used for rock concerts, has been set up at the 50-yard-line, the midpoint of Invesco Field, the stadium where the Denver Broncos’ National Football League team plays.

Some 80,000 supporters will see Obama appear from between plywood columns painted off-white, reminiscent of Washington’s Capitol building or even the White House, to accept the party’s nomination for president.

He will stride out to a raised platform to a podium that can be raised from beneath the floor.

No, the above statements are not satire. They are real. Thiink about it folks. I’ll wait….

Appropriate to his station in life, The Emperor’s stage will rise well above his adoring crowd of suckers subjects in his own specially designed Parthenon. The Emperor’s speech will be riddled with perfectly timed chants of Oooooooooooooo Baaaaaaaaa Maaaaaaaaaa from the crowd. There will be several perfectly time-released instances of a “member of the crowd” shouting “I LOVE YOU BARACK!”and Obama, chin to the sky, will wait an appropriate 10 seconds before shouting in his best cute,”I LOVE YA RIGHT BACK!” The crowd will roar again as the Emperor once again delays the next teleprompter reading to absorb the worship.

The signs will be pre-made to appear home-made and handed out to select members of the crowd so as to ensure that The Seizer Caesar is sure to see his name wherever he looks when he deigns to dart his Emperor-eyes away from one of four teleprompters. There may or may not be “fainters,” but this is only a slight possibility because of the suspiciously perfect timing of the fainters early on in his Kingdom formation.

Emperor Obama will carefully time a half dozen seemingly profound, but totally meaningless phrases of hopey and changey and the crowd will go wild with rapture, absorbing His wonderfulness. As the crowd roars, the Emperor will slowly move his head back, chin upwards to the other gods in the sky, eyes at half-mast as he sniffs the rarefied air, ear turned to the crowd as he concurrently drinks and revels in the worship. He will pause, perfectly still and say to himself with the little voice in his head: Yes I am!

He will pause for grapes, fed to him by the toga-clad Obama Girl.

And then…….The Emperor will silently applaud himself in his head.

In the meantime, The Republican video clips will be fully prepared and ready for publication before you can say, “Render Unto The Seizer“.

You are not invited to the toga party afterwards, so get that out of your head. But don’t worry. They didn’t hire out some Hooters gals to dance around for them in appropriate garb. <strike>(Well, we can’t be sure…).</strike> Obama is saving that for his imagined White House occupation–as he tanks in the polls. But make no mistake. For a Narcissist, that is unimportant. The important thing is….well….is….Him.

Say, I wonder if they bought the Enron fountain of the nekkid man peeing gin for future use?

**Caesar Obama brought to you by the talented Freedom Fairy.

This evening I had the great pleasure to spend my time with Dr. Saharra Bledsoe. She organized a host of speakers to celebrate Hillary Clinton. One of those speakers was “Shtuey”, Dr. Bledsoe introduced him gusto. Shtuey is a blogger well known to me, I have followed his posts for sometime now. He has taken on the cause of Women’s Rights and celebrated them in Asheville, NC with the first of his great speeches. Here is the text of his speech in Denver which he provided to me.

Good evening. Before I begin I’d like to thank the people who made it possible for me to be here tonight. They know who they are so I will allow them to remain anonymous. It is in honor to be a voice for those who could not make the journey. I’d also like to thank everyone at Seneca 160, the Asheville Hillary Meet Up, and of course the bitter crew at Bitterpoliticz for their unwavering support of Hillary throughout the election, into the summer, and beyond. And I want to thank all of you. Like Hillary, you stuck it out to the end and beyond. When everyone said shut up, you raised your voices louder. When Democracy was threatened you stood up in its defense. You have a lot to be proud of, and I am proud to call you my sisters and brothers in arms.

Read the rest ->
History has a way of repeating itself. Some fail to study the journey of the past, often with disastrous consequences. Then there are those who look at the past, absorb it, and set themselves to the task of shifting the course of human events to alter the outcome, to advance and elevate the path of society. Even so, history does have a way of repeating itself.

In 1840 Elizabeth Cady Stanton and Lucretia Mott traveled to England to attend an abolitionist convention in London. Being shut out, due to their gender, they found each other on the street and agreed that a convention must be held to address the economic and political needs of women. That convention was held 160 years ago in Seneca Falls, New York. Three hundred-eighty women and men gathered to begin a conversation that changed the course of human events. The first wave of feminism was born with the words, “All men and all women are created equal.”

By 1912 that convention of 380 had grown exponentially. Women rose up for their rights in the work place, and for their right to vote. At the 1912 New York City March for Suffrage some 20,000 people marched. A reported half million lined the streets. The movement continued to grow, and once the challenge of gaining suffrage was accomplished, the fight for equality and women’s rights went on.

One hundred forty-seven years after Seneca Falls, then First Lady Hillary Rodham Clinton, went to Beijing to address an international women’s conference themed, “Listen to the Women.” In a singular act of bravery, and at great political and personal risk, Hillary Clinton, standing on the shoulders of Stanton, Mott, Susan B. Anthony, Clara Lemlich, Alice Paul, Eleanor Roosevelt, and others too many to name, changed the course of the conversation of the women’s movement forever. Before this international gathering of women leaders Hillary Clinton gave birth to what I consider to be the fourth wave of feminism with the following words:

It is a violation of human rights when babies are denied food, or drowned, or suffocated, or their spines broken, simply because they are born girls.

It is a violation of human rights when women and girls are sold into the slavery of prostitution for human greed — and the kinds of reasons that are used to justify this practice should no longer be tolerated.

It is a violation of human rights when women are doused with gasoline, set on fire, and burned to death because their marriage dowries are deemed too small.

It is a violation of human rights when individual women are raped in their own communities and when thousands of women are subjected to rape as a tactic or prize of war.

It is a violation of human rights when a leading cause of death worldwide among women ages 14 to 44 is the violence they are subjected to in their own homes by their own relatives.

It is a violation of human rights when young girls are brutalized by the painful and degrading practice of genital mutilation.

It is a violation of human rights when women are denied the right to plan their own families, and that includes being forced to have abortions or being sterilized against their will.

If there is one message that echoes forth from this conference, let it be that human rights are women’s rights and women’s rights are human rights once and for all. Let us not forget that among those rights are the right to speak freely — and the right to be heard.

Women must enjoy the rights to participate fully in the social and political lives of their countries, if we want freedom and democracy to thrive and endure.

Freedom means the right of people to assemble, organize, and debate openly. It means respecting the views of those who may disagree with the views of their governments. It means not taking citizens away from their loved ones and jailing them, mistreating them, or denying them their freedom or dignity because of the peaceful expression of their ideas and opinions.

That speech was heard around the world and inspired the international women’s movement. But American society is still trying to catch up to where Hillary has been for thirteen years. She was ahead of the curve as usual. Hillary planted the seed for the fourth wave of feminism; the wave that says this is not simply an issue about women. It is about all people. The seed has grown to a tree. The tree has born fruit. That fruit is us.

About 18 months ago Senator Clinton asked us to engage in a new conversation when she began her historic campaign for the Presidency of the United States. Joining the ranks of Victoria Woodhull, Margaret Chase Smith, Shirley Chisholm, Carol Moseley Braun, and many others, she set out to smash what she has called, “…the highest and hardest glass ceiling.”

She made history by being the first woman candidate to win a Presidential primary. She made history by winning more congressional districts and counties than any candidate in the 2008 Democratic Party Primaries. She made history by garnering more primary votes than any candidate in the history of the Democratic Party. And had the DNC’s Rules and Bylaws Committee seated the Michigan and Florida delegations at full strength, and with fair reflection of the votes cast in those states, she would have finished the primary season with more pledged delegates. And those who failed to understand the lessons of history once again tried to prevent a woman from taking her rightful place at the Convention. Fortunately, we learned those lessons, and took action to make sure that history was not repeated.

It is obvious, to all who are paying attention, that the coup we witnessed this year was not simply directed at Senator Clinton. It was directed at us. It was directed at Democracy. When delegates can be stripped from one candidate given to another, whose name did not even appear on a ballot, then my friends, all we hold sacred as Americans is in jeopardy. It is not going to be enough to resist. It is not going to be enough to just say no deal. If we walk away from this at the end of the 2008 election cycle and the people who brought us this fiasco; Leah Daughtry, Alexis Herman, Donna Brazile, Nancy Pelosi, Howard Dean and the rest of the junta are still in power at the DNC when the smoke clears, then The Democratic Party will remain a poisoned tree that will only deliver bitter fruit. And what will we do about it? Voting Republican and staying home are not viable options moving forward from 2008.

Where do we begin then? We can start by continuing to support the agenda that we fought for with Senator Clinton: universal healthcare, the green economy, the accessibility and affordability of a college education, the advancement of human rights, and the defense of equal rights. Not as platitudes to get elected, but solutions to the pressing issues that face our nation, and our world. We can support the work of Hill Pac, which is currently circulating a petition in defense of family planning. We can support Hillary in the Senate, or whichever office she may hold, by lobbying our elected officials to support legislation she is sponsoring. We can support the National Women’s History Museum in its effort to find a permanent home in our nation’s capital so that there is a place dedicated to telling the unique story of women in America. Most importantly, we must strengthen our political voice. We are not here because we’re sore losers. We are not here because we’re bitter. We are here because we are clinging. Clinging, with all the strength we have left to all we hold dear about this country.

We deserve a party that will not violate the most sacred codes that we honor and hold dear as Americans, and I say here and now that if the Democratic Party will not uphold those values then perhaps the time has come to break from that party and start anew. We will not let Democracy die at Invesco Field on Friday. We must eject the anti-democratic cabal from the DNC, or be prepared to build a new party out of the Democratic Party’s ashes: A party that stands unequivocally for the passage of the Equal Rights Amendment.

A party that stands unequivocally for gay marriage and the equal protection of all people regardless of the color of their skin, religion, sexual orientation, age, economic status, or gender.

We deserve a party that stands for universal healthcare; a party that stands for the separation of church and state; a party that stands for our right to privacy and doesn’t sell it to complicit telecom companies; a party that stands for one person, one vote.

This road will not be easy. We have been called enemies. We have been threatened. Those who oppose us have tried to break our spirit, our will, and our determination, but will not be turned back. We will not be stalled. We will not be cowed, and we will not be broken. To paraphrase the oft quoted Susan B. Anthony; no self respecting American should wish or work for the success of a party which ignores them. We will not be enslaved.

The Mahatma once said, “How can one be compelled to accept slavery? I simply refuse to do the master’s bidding. He may torture me, break my bones to atoms and even kill me. He will then have my dead body, not my obedience. Ultimately, therefore, it is I who am the victor and not he, for he has failed in getting me to do what he wanted done.”

We will not do the master’s bidding. We have lived with this for too long. Hillary showed us what it means to stand and fight for what one believes in. Now it is time for us to rise.

Approximately 50-100 people attended the event ready to celebrate Hillary’s rise. They were excited and eager to share their Hillary stories and their sadness. Their sadness at the corruption, race baiting and denigration of the Clintons by Obama. Obama who has never treated Hillary or her supporters with any respect, will unfortunately become the Democratic nominee.

Rise Hillary Rise!

“We will take it from here”!

You will never find a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.

Take a tour with me:

Noice Raids. I thought it was noise misspelled. It’s anti-ICE, the immigration enforcement agency.

The gringo is muy un-Patriotic. This silly white boy thinks he’s a vaquero with the hat. Thanks for flying a foreign flag at an American political convention, gringo.

The folks at NOICE were selling a shirt which suggested you throw away the American flag.

Of course the pot folks were there. I’m not too worried about the pot folks causing problems.

This lovely individual put a swastika on the American and Colorado flag. If it were not for the United States, this bastard probably would be spreken sie Deutsche.

I met Peggy from Ann Arbor, Michigan. She’s an Obama supporter, but nice sunglasses.

These were the two Republicans I found. They were walking around with Nobama signs. They were very nice. I told them I was a Hillary supporter and they said: The enemy of my enemy is my friend.

Earlier: According to MSNBC, U.S. Representative Stephanie Tubbs Jones has been admitted to a Cleveland-area hospital, a spokesman said early Wednesday. No further information is known on her condition. [UPDATE: Her office now states that she suffered an aneurysm.]

Tubbs Jones was admitted to Huron Road Hospital in East Cleveland on Tuesday, said Joyce Persuade. Tubbs Jones’ family members have asked that no other information on the five-term Cleveland Democrat be made public, Persuade said.

MSNBC reported the following:

The 58-year-old Tubbs Jones became the first black woman to represent Ohio in Congress when she was elected in 1998.

Tubbs Jones is set to be a superdelegate at next week’s Democratic National Convention in Denver. One of Sen. Hillary Rodham Clinton’s biggest boosters during the primaries, she threw her support to Barack Obama in June.

Tubbs Jones is expected to speak at the launch of WomenCount.org with Senator Hillary Clinton on August 26, 2008 in Denver.

Here is the announcement of this newly formed group:

Join Senator Hillary Clinton

To celebrate the launch of WomenCount.org
Let’s continue the journey and make the feminist movement fresh, hip & wholly irresistible!!!

Here are the women responsible for giving the feminist movement a new look, Stacy Mason, Rosemary Camposano, and Jehmu Greene.

Despite throwing her support to Obama, we wish Representative Tubbs Jones a quick and speedy recovery.

What would a gaudy extravaganza for “The Coronation” be without a dungeon? Sure enough, as Uppity Woman has already reported here wire cages topped off with barbed wire and stun-gun carrying guards await anyone who …. does what?

Despite detailed descriptions of the facility, the arrest, bond posting, and court processing, why one would be arrested remains fuzzy. I finally found the one sheet flier everyone will be handed that sheds new light on the term “vague.” Couched in the cloak of one’s rights, your guess as to why you can be hauled off to the Denver Gitmo is as good as mine. Every “right” has a “but.” You can speak out, unless….You can march on public streets, unless… Or, I quote, “Even if you are not engaged in unlawful activity, you are subject to citation and/or arrest if you do not leave the area defined by the police in their lawful (?) order to disperse.” I get the feeling that the police can make it up as they go.

This reminds me of the bigger picture. Obama’s comment last June 14th in Philadelphia, “If they bring a knife to the fight, we bring a gun” suggests that his critics will be treated harshly. The Democratic Party has lost its moorings and appears to be about to push through an inexperienced candidate who we know little about (most records either conveniently missing or under embargo), and what we do know involves some pretty ruthless and dangerous associates. How would the freedom of expression and right of association be played out under an Obama administration? Like Denver, it simply is not clear–but it feels ominous.

That’s right folks. Tick off the wrong person and you too can spend the night in the “New” Stalinist Democratic Party’s rendition of Gitmo.

DENVER (CBS4) ― CBS4 News has learned if mass arrests happen at the Democratic Convention, those taken into custody will be jailed in a warehouse owned by the City of Denver. Investigator Rick Sallinger discovered the location and managed to get inside for a look.

The newly created lockup is on the northeast side of Denver. Protesters have already given this place a name: “Gitmo on the Platte.”

Inside are dozens are metal cages. They are made out of chain link fence material and topped by rolls of barbed wire.

I wonder what the ratio of Hillary supporters will be in that tank? You all know how popular we will be with Barky and his hood ornament Howard. Not to mention Nancy and Donna. So bring a book with you, Denver people! You can at least read between floggings by those Recreate68 folks.

Maybe Barack can bring in the Taliban to shoot us. I understand he’s the candidate of choice amongst terrorists worldwide.

Unfortunately, while you are in the tank, you will miss Barack Obama standing perfectly still, his ear turned toward the crowd, his nose sniffing the air, chin jutted out, his eyes slightly glazed, as he revels in the roar of the crowd in response to a planned platitude.

You will miss the on-cue shout: “I LOVE YOU BARACK!”. And you will miss Barack saying “I LOVE YOU RIGHT BACK!”. You will miss the hired fainter. You will miss the Ooooooooooo Baaaaaaaahhhhhhh Maaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa roar, coordinated at just the right time.

You will miss Barack Obama applauding himself.

Come to think of it, Gitmo sounds like a better deal.

According to the Los Angeles Times Obama is soliciting “soft money” to meet fundraising goals for the convention despite the fact he vowed to to reform convention funding.

The Denver Host Committee by mid-June once again fell short of the $60 million dollars needed for the convention by $11.6 million. So, Obama’s campaign took charge and began offering “sweetheart” deals in exchange for donations of up to a $1 million dollars each. Who are they soliciting? Labor unions and others.

What kind of “sweetheart” deals do they get? (Nothing a regular citizen will see).

Here is what the campaign is offering, stadium skyboxes for Obama’s acceptance speech and other perks.

And some of the donors get special bundles of perks, including use of the party suites at Denver’s Invesco Field, as well as special policy briefings by Obama advisors, choice hotel rooms and party invitations. Here is what you get for a $1 million dollar donation, Those paying the $1-million price tag will get skybox tickets for 25 people and an additional 50 regular tickets to Invesco Field. Some others will get occasional access to skyboxes at the Pepsi Center, where the rest of the convention will take place. Donors will also have access to private parties and receptions.

The problem with Obama taking “soft money” for the convention, he has once again flipped on a promise, a vow to reform convention funding.

What was his excuse for taking “soft money”? The Denver Host Committee was facing a budget shortfall and the Democratic National Committee (DNC) is facing a large deficit in the Democratic National Convention budget.

So Obama what is the truth? Are you for reform or aren’t you for reform? We don’t really know the answer to these questions, probably never will, since the answers change everyday to all his “policies”. What we are almost certain of Obama’s “word” means little! And definitely not enough for him to be our President!
