The storyline being fed to (and swallowed by) most of the public is that Granny Dunham, Obama’s defacto mama, has taken a turn for the worse and is humming Bob Dylan’s, “Knock, Knock, Knocking at Heaven’s Door.” Demonstrating that politics are secondary when it comes to family, Barack will dash off to Hawaii today and sit by her side. Sort of a pre-shiv’ah ritual bereavement. He does not care whether this puts his campaign at risk. He’s above politics. It is Grandma for gods sake!!

If you have finished hurling into your air sickness bag, here’s what is really going on.

Remember Barack’s August vacation? Yeah, he cared so much about Granny that he saw her only for an hour and did not take Michelle and the girls to visit the woman who he credits with helping raise him. Pretty odd behavior.

This trip is part of a scripted campaign event. It is a sign that the Obama team are so confident their boy has the election in the bag, that they are stepping up efforts to solidify Barack’s image as a regular, mainstream Joe. Hence the visit to Granny in a time of need. Now Grandma Dunham is an elderly woman and is coming off of a broken hip. From the sound of it she is a feisty old gal and no more in peril of keeling over than any other 86 year old woman. Check out this CBS story, which is based on a interview with Barack’s great uncle and his granny’s brother:

Payne, who is Obama’s great-uncle, said his sister was hospitalized briefly but is back home in her Honolulu apartment, where Obama’s sister, Maya Soetoro-Ng, cares for her. Obama plans to suspend campaigning later this week to visit his grandmother, and Payne is planning to fly there for her 86th birthday, which is Sunday.

Payne, 83, said he spoke to his sister briefly on Monday.

“We had a short and as upbeat as possible conversation,” said Payne, a retired university library administrator. “She hated the hospital.”

She’s got the normal problems of an aging body but, with plans for the birthday party, it does not sound like a wake is imminent. Let’s face it, if Granny Dunham was departing this mortal coil (and let’s face it, she is an old lady and will die at some point) wouldn’t the whole family go? Shouldn’t Barack’s daughters get a chance to say good bye to Great Grandma Dunham.

OK, campaigning is hard work. And you want to be President, right?

So, why were you in Hawaii for an extended vacation just before Denver? And what’s with not taking the kids with you to see Grandma?

Or was it that pesky birth certificate thingy that needs some attention? (Questions still need to be answered on this one.)

There is a “3 a.m. moment” going on. Or was the idea to be out of commission for a while in the hopes of not making any more foreign policy gaffes before Denver?”

Finally, the polls have flat-lined at a time when you should be 15 points ahead. That’s probably something to worry about. Don’t you think that instead of bouncing through Europe and playing in Hawaii, your time would be better spent courting us white working class folks here at home who don’t “get” you? It might not work (and please don’t blame Hillary Clinton if it doesn’t), but you should have really tried.

The “surprise” attack by the Japanese should not have caught the US fleet at Pearl Harbor unawares. There were advanced warnings that people in key positions ignored or shrugged off as unimportant. Well, guess what boys and girls? Similar warnings are now in the hands of the Democratic leadership and they are choosing to ignore the flashing red lights that signal danger ahead.

Just today, courtesy of the Rocky Mountain News, we confirmed that Barack aka Barry Soetoro Obama was a citizen of Kenya since 1963. Barack has yet to stipulate when he renounced or relinquished that citizenship. That will be a distracting issue in the upcoming campaign. Americans don’t want to elect a Kenyan as President. It is that simple.

But then there is the Indonesian problem and his Hawaiian birth certificate.

I confirmed today that several teams/individuals visited Jakarta during the last six months to gather up critical documents regarding Barack. It is amazing what money can buy. The information includes details of how Barack made his way to Pakistan. Oh! Did I mention there have been similar efforts underway in Pakistan. There are several lessons and warnings in the John Edwards affair for Obama. First and foremost, you cannot hide your past.

Did I also mention how small Hawaii is? Republican operatives, with help from their own island backers, have unearthed critical information on Obama and are just biding their time until after the convention to drop it on him. Such as? Having a birth certificate that lists you as Barry Soetoro.

Barack aka Barry Soetoro might have escaped scrutiny back in 1960 when there was no internet. Controlling information back then was so much easier. Not today. It is there for the taking and the Democrats foolishly chose to trust this clown just as they trusted John Edwards.

Who would have thought that John Edwards and his wife would be so arrogant and so disconnected with reality that they would embark on a presidential campaign even though they knew about his affair and the crazy nature of his paramour. Well, that kind of audacity and bamboozlement is not limited to the Edwards family. Meet the Obamas. You don’t know them? Don’t worry, Republican operatives are loaded for bear and you are going to meet a Barack Obama that was hidden and disguised during the Democratic primary. And when the introduction is over the Obama supporters will wish the only thing they had to worry about was a video with Michelle saying disparaging things about caucasians.

Dems. You’ve been warned. Don’t be surprised when the attacks come.
