Part I - The Restoration

Senator Obama has announced with a magnanimous flourish that he would, in all his beneficence, call for the Credentials Committee to restore the votes of Florida and Michigan delegates to 100%. If you recall, when we left off at the Rules and Bylaws Committee meeting on May 31st, Florida and Michigan had 100% of their delegates seated, but only with 1/2 vote each. Sounds like the Party is healed. Right?

Wrong. Remember that the fury that emerged at the end of the Rules and Bylaws Committee Meeting was not over the 1/2 vote penalty. People were outraged because the RBC threw out the results of the popular vote, which gave Obama no delegates, and replaced them with an amalgam of exit polls and other data, giving Obama all of the “uncommitted” delegates and hijacking four of Hillary’s, effectively handing the race to Obama.

Obama’s play for unity on Monday did nothing to change that absolute corruption of the democratic process. (more…)

I can’t decide what I loathe more: that Obama all but acknowledges he stole the primary or that he assumes that the average Hillary supporter will be in any way assuaged by this obscene gesture of asking the credentials committee to restore full voting rights to Florida and Michigan now that he’s taken his victory lap and then poked us in the eye with his Grand European/Mid-East Tour.

Back when his “magnanimity” would have counted, he would have suffered small hit in his delegate lead and everyone would have been happy and impressed by his sense of fairness to the voters. But back then, no amount of pleading could convince him to ask for such fairness. He couldn’t even be moved to join in a revote effort.

The reason is very clear. Without Florida and Michigan, Hillary’s other states lacked the critical mass of delegates that would have put her on an even footing with him. In fact, if FL and MI had been counted fully from the beginning, it would have been all over by February 5th. Her substantial and decisive wins in FL, MI, CA, NJ, NY, MA, and AZ would have dwarfed his insignificant wins in the western caucuses.

The weightiness of all of those big D and swing states would have had him barely hanging in the race. OH and TX would have finished him off. We all know this. That’s why it was so important for him to screw FL and MI back in February. It doesn’t make them any less screwed now that he’s sent a letter.

No, instead, Hillary was forced to pole vault a 435ft bar all primary season while Obama was allowed to gently ease his way over a knee wall, assisted by a boost up from his friends in the media and the RBC committee.

Just as so many of us predicted, now that it can’t hurt him and he has successfully gamed the system and insulted everything this country’s democracy stands for, Leland Gaunt Barack Obama wants every Florida and Michigan delegate counted.

If this isn’t a sign of just what a crooked, morally bankrupt Chicago Thug he is, I don’t know what is. He and Donna and Howard blocked these delegates and these voters from being counted because he knew he would lose. Then he blocked their re-votes because he knew he would lose. No sense of denying that he blocked these re-votes, it’s a matter of record now.

And now………….that it benefits (as in “Cannot Hurt”) The One, he will let his peons be counted. The man is the most despicable excuse for a human being I have seen forced upon an American election in my not so short life. And that includes George W. Bush.

This is just another sign of who and what Barack Obama really is, folks.

While we railed against the GOP in the 2000 and 2004 elections for their dishonesty, these guys look like Disney characters when you consider the slime trail left behind by Barack Obama, Donna Brazile, Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi et al.

And of Course, Obama’s Hood Ornament, Howard Dean and his complicit band of bullshitters have “decided” that the unbreakable ROOLZ that they used to tank Hillary Clinton can now officially be waived, suddenly “democracy” and fairness are of interest to him.

What does he do today? He releases a letter about an hour or so ago asking that FL and MI delegates be seated in full. The coup is complete.

He has kneecapped Hillary for good!. As for Harold Ickes, Obama literally took the wind out of his sails…. he is the one who said “we reserve the right to take this to the credentials committee”. Nope not going to allow even a chance for Hillary to take it to the credentials committee, can’t do that, that would be fair. (more…)

The Anti-PUMA groups are comprised of Obama supporters, old and new. Some are ex-Hillary supporters, while others started out supporting another candidate, but moved to Obama at some point. One thing they all seem to have in common though, is that they have picked up and carried on the abusive, thuggish language and behavior of Obama supporters from the get go.

I read an unflattering piece today about one of the lead PUMA people. They took one comment she made, in reaction to an Anti-PUMA blogger who attacked one of Hillary’s most ardent supporters, and tried to make her seem like a terrible person.

Republican John McCain has quickly closed the gap between himself and Democratic rival Sen. Barack Obama in several key battleground states even as the Arizona senator struggles to break through the wall-to-wall coverage of Obama’s trip to Europe and the Middle East this week.

McCain and Obama are in a statistical dead heat in Colorado, Michigan and Minnesota while the Illinois senator has a more comfortable double-digit edge in Wisconsin. …

63% Say Trip Does Not Make Obama More Fit to be President, Rasmussen Reports:

While Barack Obama has touted his travel to the Middle East and Europe this week as a “fact-finding” trip, 63% of Americans do not believe it makes the Democratic candidate any more qualified to be president.

A new Rasmussen Reports national survey, taken Monday night, also finds that less than a third (32%) think Obama will learn from his trip to Iraq. Forty percent (40%) say his mind is already made up about policies to deal with the war there. The Democrat has been accused by liberals in his party of softening his long-standing opposition to the war in Iraq in an effort to appeal to more moderate voters. …

I want a Democrat in the White House. At the Convention, the sole job of the delegates will be to select the person who is electable in November.

That person is Hillary Clinton. During the primary process BO did not “close the deal” with primary voters. The more voters got to know BO, the more votes Senator Clinton received. By the time she suspended, not ended, her campaign, she led in the popular vote, in the blue states and swing states needed to win the Electoral College, and in the polls against McCain.

She won convincingly wherever one-person-one-vote was the principle of the voting process; she did not prevail in the caucuses - one of the least democratic voting methods imaginable - no secret ballot, limited access, no absentee ballots…

Senator Clinton has the best, most progressive stance on issues of importance to Democrats - truly universal, affordable health care; sensible mortgage relief to avoid the dissolution of our communities; universal pre-k and greater access to high education; energy independence; investments in infrastructure, urban regeneration, stem cell research and other scientific explorations… she has the connections to and the admiration of the world leaders and populations desperate for strong leadership from the United States… (more…)

When, in the course of U. S. Presidential Elections, it becomes necessary for one portion of a political party to assume among the people of the nation a position different from that which they have previously occupied, but one to which the laws of nature and of their Constitution entitle them, a decent respect for the opinions of fellow citizens requires that they should declare the causes that impel them to such a course.

In agreement with generations who have gone before us, we hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men and women are created equal; that they are endowed at birth with certain inalienable rights; that among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness; that to secure these rights governments are instituted, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed. Whenever any form of government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the right of those who suffer from it to refuse allegiance to it, and to insist upon the institution of a new government, laying its foundation on such principles, and organizing its powers in such form as to seem most likely to affect their safety and happiness.

Prudence will dictate that governments long established should not be changed for transient causes; and accordingly experience has shown that citizens are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the political structures to which they are accustomed. But political parties are not governments, and when a long train of abuses and usurpations evinces a design to reduce them under authoritarianism, it is their duty to throw off such a political party, and to provide different representation for their future security. Such has been the patient sufferance of many in the Democratic Party, and it is this suffering which compels them to now demand the representation to which they are entitled. The recent history of both parties is a history of repeated injuries on the part of elected officials against the electors, having in direct object the establishment of authoritarian power over them, for the purpose of profit. This has rendered the Democratic Party unrecognizable to ordinary citizens. To prove this, let facts be submitted to a candid world.

What went wrong?

The representative process of the Democratic Presidential Preference began with the Iowa caucuses and ended with the Montana and South Dakota primaries. Much has been said about the inherent flaws in a process that is not uniform, much of which is very valid and deserves corrective measures.

It is evident that much of the electorate and, in kind, many of our elected officials, do not have a firm grasp of the nominating process: a process that begins at the convention - no sooner and no later. Calls by Democratic Party leaders to have the “nomination” determined on a specific date, has no relevance. Calls to have Super Delegates declare their endorsement before the nominating process begins short-circuits the democratic process.

More importantly, however, we have seen and we know, that our Democracy is in dire need of change. A significant portion of the electorate realizes that our Democracy is at a crossroads: the path we choose today will determine our future with a sense of urgency most generations rarely experience. There is no small reason so many are polarized and refuse to support the “presumptive” Democratic Presidential nominee. The process has been far from normal - if fact, many say it has been undemocratic: Barack Obama was selected, not elected.

We could, and rightfully so, point to a number of factors that lead many to this conclusion:

• Suppression of millions of votes (Florida & Michigan)
• Fraudulent practices in states where caucuses were held
• Media bias
• Discriminatory practices that were allowed to reign free without repudiation

However, there is a much more insidious and covert force working here: George Soros. (more…)
